Brother, it’s not your guitar playing which is unbelievable, it is you. You inspire me to pick up my $100 guitar everyday and just keep trying. Your manner and lovely demeanour shine through any gain or reverb. Peace to you too 🙏🏼
Fender Strat into a Blackface Super Reverb is just the sweetest sound on earth. Bought an all original 1965 one year ago and good lord.. i dont regret it!
My favorite sound ever is a Tele and a Vox together. It is absolutely glorious. There's just such a "smoothness" or something to a Vox that that I don't feel like the Fender amps have but I still love the Fenders also.
quite the gem you found! Keep fixing the broken parts until you are totally happy with the sounds. It's got to be an investment. You and I never experienced the mid-60's , but you have a taste of what it was really like in that piece of history. Add a '59 Strat or an early sixties "anything" and you have 1000's of hours of delight under your fingers.
I will say as a guitarist trying to learn and find my own sound. Mathew Scott is one of the few modern day guitarists I really look up to and steal a ton of licks from, so keep up the good work!
"Going well" means that that bridge PU is salvageable to me... I hope so for you. Such an amazing tone even with ancient strings which I so respect you playing the demo with out of respect for the old girl and what souls have put hands and heart into her. Stunned.
You deserve million subs man. From a viewer standpoint, I'd love to see you play a bit more, I love your content but I wish I could see you play longer.
You never fail to put a smile on my face whenever I see a video of yours come out. You are not my favorite content creator but rather my favorite guitar player, period. Over stevie, over jimi, over any of em. You have a god given talent and a hell of a sound to you.
Each time you tweaked the reverb from 5:08 on, my smile just got bigger and bigger.... what a wide full sounding tone and as for that reverb, man that Reverb, superb! Sweet spot hit at 5:23 and again 5:49! Just amazeballs!! Great vid (as always), and a seriously great sounding amp. Love it.
Nice to see the amp working so beautifully now. I would have loved to see your amp guy’s restoration process, like how many pots he had to replace, but I’m kind of a nerd about that stuff.
Sounded great! Love the Super Reverbs. I bought a 68 in 92 that still had the tags on it and was clean as a pin. Not even any smoke stains in the grill cloth. Wish I still had it!
You know music is always been a big part of my life even before I really knew it was. And here lately I've been going through a lot of stuff including me and my wife and it has to do with some people with messed up thinking and actions and sometimes it's more than I can take. Thank God there's a wonderful outlet with videos like yours, thanks.
I know it's been a year but I really hope things are going good for you now Ron. I've learned from years of pain the best place to be is leaning on the Lord Jesus my brother. Cheers from Louisiana P[>
I have a '67 Super Reverb with four JBL 10's bought it brand new in 1967 put the JBL's in the cabinet in 1970. Heavy as hell but it is the sweetest sound I have ever heard. No amp comes close to it.
It's always amazing what people have sitting out in their barn. Appears that barn dust must be a decent preservative for both amps and forgotten cool cars. I'm surprised all the tubes and capacitors survived the decades. Your Super sounds great.
This one sounds a lot more raspy and bold - it’s got a lot of tonal character on top of the notes like it’s seasoned. It’s definitely amazing - you can’t replicate it in a new build - one of a kind tone. Killer find and glad you got it running!
super sweet and really love the tone of that firebird . makes me want one. I had the good fortune of seeing Freddie King live in the mid 70's and it was the first time I had seen or heard a Super Reverb. He was the opening act for ZZ Top.Anyway he was amazing.
That’s an amazing sounding amp!! Playing your ‘59 Strat through it is that quintessential sound of the sixties. Very Hendrix sounding - glorious!! As usual your program lifts my spirits thanks for sharing. Love and Peace ☮️
A modern day peace longing knight on a life-long quest to rescue and preserve for future generations the tools once used to express the sentiments that words alone could not describe. A noble cause indeed young Sir.
It's almost like the reverb has a mind of it's own, and kicks in just at the right time, unbelievable spontaneous saturation, what a great tone,we love all things vintage, simple because technology hasn't aged very well, and we long for the days when the music was never going to get any better, then it was back then, again, thumbs up 😊👍
The super reverb is my favourite all time amp. I owned and used Silver face version for about 10 years. It got a bit heavy to lug and I traded for 68 Deluxe reverb. Both great amps
For recording purposes the Deluxe is probably even better- but there's no substitution for 50 watts of all tube Fender power into those JBL 4x10's!!! The Super Reverb is basically a 50w Marshall half stack stuffed into a combo package! I LOVE mine!! (I've got a Vibrolux too for when more reasonable volume levels are called for...)
I have been waiting for this video, the super reverb is my all time favorite amplifier. Twins seem to stay in the shop more than on stage with me, but none of them sound like that...phenom! Great find Matthew.
To my ear, that is honestly the sweetest sounding amp I have EVER heard, bar none, bar down!!!! Even better the the Bassman, which has always been a favorite.
Man... It's been a year since I started watching ypir videos, and right from the first video a knew you are going to hit more than one million subs... You'll get there... I'm sure!! Great content!!
Sounds great! I had one of the first silver face Supers from the early 70's...I don't remember it sounding as warm as yours. It's amazing the caps didn't dry out and you were able to play through it right off.
Found an original 1974 Silverface Super Reverb with Master Volume in a pawnshop with original Fender Alnico speakers (like yours) and the original RCA tubes including the hard to find 7025's. Replaced reverb pan and replaced needed capacitors and resoldered necessary points. A 1978 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe with the mini-humbuckers gives an incredible clean tone with this amp; the Les Paul with the mini-humbuckers I believe is underrated. This amp brings my Gibson to life! My friends, Gibson and Fender can work well together. 😁🎸
congrats on 100k man i’ve been loving your videos for the longest and i’m glad to see you still killing it now just as much as you did before if not more keep up the great stuff man
Yea I’m thinking about getting one of these instead of an apartment
You can find one for a great price if you look for it, all the time.
Actually original super reverb dont cost a whole lot.
@@noahbergman7777 LOL
@@shckltnebay Seriously. There often less than the price of a new one. And that's in good condition
Hell yea, apartments back on the list!
Brother, it’s not your guitar playing which is unbelievable, it is you. You inspire me to pick up my $100 guitar everyday and just keep trying. Your manner and lovely demeanour shine through any gain or reverb. Peace to you too 🙏🏼
Thats all I can hope for! 🙏🏻✌🏻

Sweet, the best year!

I've got a 64 all original...... don't have the talent to deserve such an amp.......but I'm working on it!
That Firebird just sings on that amp! Beautifully warm AND articulate.

I’m loving this channel not just for the appreciation of guitar stuff but it makes it sooo much better that this guy can play 👍👍

Damn!!!!! That brought back a lot of memories. I had several of them back in my day.... love it
It sounds awesome! Great to see these old treasures land in a great home. Keep rocking!
I have to say that this channel is great! Great playing, great content and great attitude! Very happy to have found this channel.
Your playing always compliments the beautiful sounds of the amps, I love your videos man. Thank you so much!

Thank you✌🏻much more on the way!
I agree, it's really a joy to watch him play. I love all the guitar and amp stuff too tho.
@@MatthewScottmusic can u play some blues shufles like srv ? Would love to see your take on them
So sweet and smooth. Doesn't hurt that you play the way you do. Awesome!
Omg that's the best reverb tone I ever heard I was wanting to buy a 74 super reverb I now know I have to do it
Get ya at least a 72 non master volume
Do it! If you can. We only get one trip around 👍🏻

That amp sounds amazing! It’s your skills that really make it. I really enjoy hearing you play.
Sweet!!!!! Real, raw live music, much appreciation, keep it going!!!!!
wow that reverb just wow
Thanks for having something worth watching
Matt that amp sounds very alive and almost heavenly. But to be honest with you everything that you play sounds fantastic.
Thanks very much Tony.
Thanks much, Matt. I appreciate your recent videos of fixups and back-from-the-almost-deads!
So sweet. Records so gently
Great video, great playing, great sound, thanks a lot from Poland, Chris

That Reverb is so sweet, love it!
Everything has a very good tone, the amp, guitar and reverb.
Oh man. When you flicked to THE fender position and played the hammer-ons at around 1.53... it was over. So sweet, chimey but not harsh. Loved it.
The firebird turned out so well. The amp is amazing, especially with a humbucker pumping through it.

your video quality and playing is just getting better and better, having a place you can play loud whenever is doin you amazingly
Congrats on 100K!!
Best reverb I've ever heard. Unbelievable
Thank you, Matthew!
Incredible tones. Incredible playing.
I like the way the Firebird fits between the couch arm & cushion! And it sounds so sweet. Johnny Wintery.🎶
That amp is sweet. Brought both of those guitars to life, big time.

Wow that is lush! The reverb is beautifully rich and creamy.
Beautiful in my ears
Sounds absolutely beautiful and spine-tingley...
Can't wait to see the paul. That amp and neck pickup are from heaven.
God that sound is so amazing, such a wonderful era in music, maybe it's just me but there just so much emotion and feeling in those tones

congrats on 100k subs Matthew..well done. great to see your channel grow over the years..
Sounds mellower and warmer and dynamic than some other amps. Not harsh or overly brittle at all.
Lord that's a beautiful sound......
Glorious fender tones Matt. That is a priceless amp to most vintage fender tone hounds
That reverb is up on the list of most amazing things I have ever heard.
Hell yeah man! I see those 100k subscribers, been here since 10k.
I swear SRV looks down and smiles every time you pick that ‘59 strat up and plug it in.....you never disappoint Matthew....✌🏼
Nice amp. Nice guitars and great player. = ear candy. Keep the tone alive. Great dedication thank you for doing what you do.
Brother you sound good through anything you got the chops.
And bam.... you crack the 100k by 2k already. You definatly deserve, congratulations
Those SRV tones! I had a 67 Bassman with a (2) 12" cab. I cried when I had to sell it.
It’s just the right amount of everything! Great vid!
Thanks for another great video. I cannot believe that amp still sounds great after spending so much time in a barn.
love the reverb tones.. really early Fleetwood mac sound they loved bid Fenders.
YOU HIT 100K!! 🎉 congrats 🎉
I literally was rewatching the first vid of this series as you posted this.
I have been waiting for this video, the super reverb is my all time favorite amplifier. Twins seem to stay in the shop more than on stage with me, but none of them sound like that...phenom! Great find Matthew.

Can't beat a fender clean tone. And that amp has tons of it.
