I just got accepted for the Spring 2023 semester with CSULB! As a Sociology major. I transferred from Pasadena City College, with a 3.89 GPA
I got accepted to Cal State Long Beach!❤️ I feel so proud of myself because I didn’t think I had a chance because of how hard it is to get in.

It’s not that hard tbh. Ik people with multiple C’s and 1000 SAT’s that got in.

Great school, I really enjoyed my time at the Beach. My teachers were great, especially the teachers from the Anthropology department. Proud CSULB alumni, Go Beach.

@@SqueezySponge Congratulations. I'm sorry I reply to you post until now, but I didn't see it before. My advice to you is to take the required statistics class and the upper division GE classes as soon as possible, in that way you can focus only on your Anthro classes the remaining of your time at LB. Also, take advantage of the teacher's office hours it will help you to clarified anything you did not get in class. Enjoy you time at the Beach, it is not an Ivy League university but is great school.
jachiza66sjh quick question, is there parties at the school? I am just wondering about the party scene and what it is like. Can you tell me about your social experience with the school??
I also got accepted for spring intake in computer science,2024. I am so much excited to visit Los Angeles and Long Beach as a freshman.

I got rejected when I was applying as a fresh man, but now I'm in community college trying to see if I can still get accepted. Beautiful campus by the way.

snoopiboi same here!! Hey have you turned in your transcripts yet? I did in person 3 weeks ago but it still shows up under my to do list?🤔 the status says initiated which I'm 99% sure means they're in the process of inputting everything but I'm just extremely anxious and paranoid 😭
Accepted as chemical engineer transfer student. SOAR workshop #44 July 25th COE. Currently waitlisted at cal poly Pomona but headed to catch my education on the wave that the beach is producing. Cya guys there

@@MrNathanielnat1993 Far more qualified applicants than space available. It's one of the most applied to universities in the country.

I remember getting rejected from Long Beach 11 years ago.
I got rejected as an undergraduate (2015) and a graduate for (2020) but I still have hope of attending. My best option is going as a Open University student, meaning take classes as an outsider and getting connections with the instructors
I got waitlisted with a 3.6 GPA, still got in though! Great school with smart kids.

@@emmamain9870 Yeah it really depends on the major. Most majors are impacted (more students applying than classes can hold). The film program is always packed but I got in with a 3.7 I think a good standing GPA would be 3.5

Apparently near impossible if you're applying as a 2nd bachelors student... I applied as a UCI BS graduate and got denied lol

I applied during my last year at uci. So late 2017 applying for 2018 fall. I have an applied mathematics degree from UCI. I also applied again a week ago or so for 2020 lol. Also, if you didnt know, most of all schools in cali dont even allow you to apply as a 2nd bachelors student. This is something that is hardly known. Google “csu 2nd bachelors” and see that out of the 20+ csulb is the only one for engineering and only a handful allow a 2nd bach in general but of that handful most are only nursing.
Its stupid that california wont let you get a 2nd bachelors through public schools
Kaka 47 what did you apply for this year for second bachelors in at CSULB? engineering? Are you dorming? What majors are open for second bachelors at CSULB? And what majors are open for second bachelors at other CSU or UC? Have you thought about second bachelors at a UC?

Most UCs dont allow a 2nd bachelors either. I believe only UCD allows it for Engineering and it changes every year. 7/9 of the UCs are a strict no to 2nd bach last time i checked. Applying for engineering-no not dorming. And you can google it to know which ones allow which ones dont and which are available for csulb
Kaka 47 did you apply for second bachelors in engineering at UC Davis? Have you thought about just getting a masters in engineering without the bachelors related to engineering? If you get accepted to CSULB are you commuting for CSULB engineering? Why are you interested in engineering and the possibilities of it?

@@californianbrat8421 yeah. I had a high gpa but Was completing math statistics the same semester I applied to LB. I got into other cal states tho. Now I find out I probably didn’t get in because I wasn’t a local.
@@jeremyb382 Did you appeal the decision? I had 1 final required class in progress at the time of application, and the CSU Apply website did not have a way to note that clearly. I appealed, they overturned the denial and I got in! For me, it was a re-admission as I was a student over 10 years ago there, so each scenario may be different.

Most def, but if you are social, join a frat/sorority, play sports, or just live in the dorms, you'll make friends. It really is what you make of it!!

This is bullshit. Affirmative action is banned in California. You shouldn't spread false information. CSULB is hard to get into for everyone, I was waitlisted and had a higher GPA than both of my white dormates who were complaining about affirmative action. It all depends on your major, spots vs applicants, and other factors.
OrisueCrew your spot on. I got accepted few weeks ago. My gpa was 3.63. It’s based on how hard someone works, not about race. People just create excuses to their failures.
