@@CurlyLemongrass they all have kids from different fathers without requiring the title of wife and dump them on grandma. It’s a cycle and they all get free money from tax payers.
The eviction is not about the gun fire. It is about the violation of her lease. They gave her 2 days to get her household in order, and her daughter still stayed, hence the eviction. The gun fire is horrible, but has anyone thought that maybe they were after the daughter? I wouldn't want to live next door to someone whose property is being fired upon.
You 100% right,I've been doing security in apartment complexes for many many years,( unauthorized occupant ) is always grounds for immediate lease termination, also the grand daughter probably has a baby daddy or boyfriend whom has people trying to get at him😉, out of 17 years I've seen it all.
@@marloallenchannel6673 Isn't that the way it happens though. Folks need a "place to stay" but don't appreciate what they have until the worst happens. There are so many clauses in the leases that specify what happens when violations occur and yet most people don't pay attention or ignore the rules and don't want to suffer the consequences. This is why in some areas multi-family affordable housing is not being built because of all the headaches and heartaches that come with it.
This happens all the time where adults are living with granny or the mamas in senior living where they are receiving section 8 housing. The adult kids don't pay rent just bring drama to the situation.
Her grown daughter should be looking out for her mother/ taking care of her. We have to look out for ourselves cause our kids won't ( not mine anyway ).
@PK, So Interesting; I haven’t still gotten far in The Bible but it is my understanding that is a big reason why many had many children-to care for them in old Age.
I'm sure this had something to do with her daughter. I would bet my bottom dollar on that. Her daughter should be taking care of her mother not the other way around.
Evictions are processed through the court the office have no authority to process any evictions she invited trouble to her house and that's what she got I believe most of these people are misinterpreting the seriousness in the dangers of the situation they have gated communities for a reason to keep the bad people out even your own family go let them be in a shelter we are tired of this generation making up excuses not to work and take care of their own kids.
😤 And once again, THIS is why Homeownership is important. Daughter needs to get busy working and get her mother into a house with less government control. She owes her.
I wouldn’t want to live there after someone shot my apartment up anyways. Get your daughter and grandkids out of your house and I bet, your problem will be solved!! Common sense granny
For some odd reasoning, some people love showing their deliberate victim mentality. Ones that have the chance of leaving as much bad behind as can, DON'T! Middle school minded types crave attention, ignoring outcome from actions.
Why does it have to be her daughters fault. They said some other residents were effected by bullets also? This reminds me of when my job got robbed and they asked if I knew the robbers! It doesn't have to be her daughters fault. They've been having a problem in that complex and I would want to move also but that is extremely hard when you don't have the resources to do it. I believe she's a victim of circumstances. It doesn't always have to be the victims fault. That's like saying because certain students were targeted by a school shooter they had to have brought it on themselves. When clearly the shooter had a serious mental illness and just wanted to inflict harm to others. Could have just been two people shooting at one another. Bullets have no name and they have to land somewhere. The complex should have surveillance cameras? I would sue the complex for safety and negligence if they don't... especially since it's an on going issue. She violated her lease but that has nothing to do with their negligence. Always put everything in writing. Smh I hope she prevails.
This Is INSANE! Lord Please Help Her! May Be a Blessing in Disguise. I hope the community reaches out and offers her resources that will exceed her needs. Please LORD!
Yall kill me with this bullshit. If and when you have children, pray they never fall on bad terms and need to live with you. I doubt you turn your child around based on the terms of a lease.
The first reason given for her being evicted was because of the gunfire , she is the victim of a random crime and until the police solve the crime the apt management has absolutely no proof and no right to claim she or her daughter were the target or to blame her or to claim she is at fault or to blame or responsible for the safety of the other residents or to punish her and evict her for being the victim of a crime . THEY are to blame , THEY are responsible for her safety and the other tenants and THEY are responsible for how and why it happened because it is supposed to be a gated community but it is not kept safely or securely gated and has no security . The fact that until the gunfire nothing was said about her daughter being there so that set a precedent .
@@Mrswoods2u I think an eviction based on the shooting is wrong. However, it only takes a few minutes to notify the leasing office when your adult child needs to move in. I have adult children and would do just as you suggest-open the door and make yourself comfortable. Again, the eviction based on the crime…I call BS.
Her children put her in this predicament! Unfortunately… she is not wanted as a tenant anymore. When you get to a certain age, you need to have DISTANCE from your children who live in DRAMA!!
This same thing happened to my aunt's daughter 15 years ago. She was dating a drug dealer and someone shot my aunt's house up (where my cousin lived including her kids that she pit on her mom). By the grace of God no one was injured and my cousin is still dating the same person today... what can you do? if young women don't want to choose the best options in men there's nothing you can do about it.
People are so quick to judge but in California where I live there are thousands who are homeless not because they're lazy bums who don't work. They are hard working productive citizens who cannot find housing because the rent is way too high and the eligibility is ridiculous. So just because someone is living with their parent doesn't mean they don't work, help pay rent and bills. Things are just difficult sometimes and it's hard to move on your own. It's better than living in a shelter with your kids. Those places can be dangerous and traumatizing for a child. People shouldn't be so judgmental when you don't know the circumstances.
Wow, there are some incredibly ignorant, judgmental, racist assholes in this thread. You’re attacking the OP who didn’t say a damn thing about herself, whether she has kids or where she personally lives. She’s making a legitimate point that anyone with an ounce of compassion and common sense could make and be right. I have 4 kids and became a single mother when I was 33. I know the silent judgment, never mind that I’m a military widow. I survived the worst times of my life because of family support, to include the loss of my husband and having stage 3 cancer. If living with your parents is the model by which upstanding Americans are judged you and the rest of the pro-life party are going to have to adapt to reality and stop making disgusting assumptions based on zero information beyond your own racial bias. For what it’s worth, I’ve been an attorney, now a judge, for 25 years, and a military officer for 26 years and counting. Family support is critical, not a handout. But if you want to talk welfare, let’s chat about all the babies you’re dying to force into being. So you can do this after they’re here? Refuse any help and when people help one another you feel entitled to attack them for families taking care of each other?! You people need to pick; you’re either all in for life-cradle to grave or you’re not and allow adults the ability to make choices for themselves. In the meantime spend a little less time being sexist, obnoxious assholes.
Daughter is not telling the mother everything...The daughter may have been dating or seeing a THUG or the so-called baby daddy who might have been the one targeted...NEVER sub-lease...not even to family...You do not know every one of their circle of friends and acquaintances...

Yes because ppl need to stop having people illegally and her apartment. And look what happen you signed a lease. And a contract that is only you. And only you in the apartment.
It's really simple. The key word is "legally". Unless you own a home you can not do whatever you want. Did she ask to have her daughter added to the lease? The property owner has the right to evict anyone who does not abide by the lease. That woman was old enough to know better.
Her daughter is a burden and that is that she isn't gonna change now? She should have gotten her sorry arse up an d out down to the shelter and start the process of healing her life so in the future so can be of some help to her mother. But the rules are the rules. I rented to you and no one else. Can't abide by the terms of the contract? Oh well
It happens often if the management says criminal activities are being directed at someone who resides at my apartment, two or three days and you are on the street. You can have guests for two weeks at a time, but you can't let anyone live with you. Cincinnati Ohio
I completely understand the management's stance, but I also feel bad for this lady. Something tells me the daughter knows what this is about. Perhaps a jealous boyfriend or something to that nature.
She brought SMOKE to that complex!!! Everybody living in that complex life was in danger. And she had her daughter there that brought more heat. Baby you got to go🙅🏿♀️

They took this as an opportunity to get her out. The daughter living there is the legal avenue to evict. She could have been breaking minor rules the whole time and didn't think it mattered. This was just the event that set the landlord in motion. I'm a landlord and I know how this works.
4/26/22...STRANGE SITUATION + WEIRD SHOOTING. SOMEBODY IS PISSED OFF @ THIS GRANNY 👵 OR HER DAUGHTER + 2 GRANDKIDS.... BULLETS MISS SO EVERYBODY CLOSE BY COULD BE AFFECTED/SHOT/KILLED. SOMETHING STRANGE GOING ON HERE!
The harsh reality is the landlord has the right to evict the tenant for having others living in the dwelling without being on the lease. I do feel sad for the grandma though.
I don't because she knows she is lying. She said she should have told mgmt. Coulda, shoulda, woulda doesn't stand up in court. She should be charged for defying Section 8 agreement. At 80 years old so sick if this crap!!
Time for Nana and her adult children to pull together their resources and move the family into a better and safer housing situation. Hopefully they find a better option or even move into their own home. 3 generations living in an apartment, it's time to break the generational curse. This could turnout to be a blessing for them.

Well, this sounds like a subsidized housing issue. It's a slippery slope. She can explain the car thing but the daughter living there can get you evicted without any recourse.
That's just some racist shit to say what because it's a black person is subsidized housing that that's some bullshit. Have you ever been in a situation like that because I have. The apartment complex don't care about details they only care about getting the individuals that were involved in this out of there.
Right, I seen it through this pandemic in my own building, residence in the building have their ratchet families and friends all of a sudden living here creating all types of ghetto horrible living conditions.
If this is Senior Housing then only SENIORS can reside there. Her daughter and grandchildren moved in without authorization, never completed the required income, background, and security checks. As such this is a serious lease violation and HUD policy violation and the landlord has no other choice except to terminate this lady as a tenant. Btw it seems they gave her a few days to remove those unauthorized persons from her unit and she did NOT do that...💯💯💯💯
Seniors must be the Head of Household in senior living. But individuals under the age of 62 who have verifiable disabilities can reside in senior communities as well including dependents 17 and younger who reside with them.
Yes I’m sure there’s more to this story. She’s not taking responsibility and her daughter has followed in her footsteps becoming a single mother living off tax payers.
One thing for sure. Dont ever acknowledge that someone is living in the residence. If it is some assisted type situation. They are always visiting passing by but not living with you. She brought trouble on her self
You’re 100% correct. It said Senior properties and she had her daughter and grand babies living with her. Nearly ALL senior properties do not allow children or anyone under the age of 55 to live in the units. She got caught, that’s why the eviction.
Her being shot at, has nothing to do with her being evicted. They are two separate and distinct matters. She is being evicted because she broke the agreement (that she signed and agreed to) of her lease. That’s like me getting robbed at a liquor store and at the same time I am constantly late to work without reason and my company releases me. I can’t use the robbery to demand or expect sympathy that I got fired. This could very well be God’s graceful way of telling her to do the right thing…
@@happybirthday8803 - I’ll share a little story with you. When my oldest son was in college, he had a girlfriend, who lived quite a ways from us, he used to visit her parents home and see her almost every single day. And he used to stay over till late at night, 2-3 am. It started to affect his school grades. One night, he was returning home from her house and it was 3 am. He was on the freeway and he fell asleep at the wheel going approximately 80 mph. He hit the center divider and completely totaled his car. Both the police and the tow truck driver explicitly told him the same thing, “Young man, I don’t know if you believe in God or not, but it is honestly a miracle that you walked away from this accident. Someone is looking out for you”. We told our son multiple times (more times than I can count), you need to cool out with this girl. Do what you have to first with your school studies. After the accident, we told him that God was being gracious and getting his attention, because he was so stubborn and never listened. Well God got his attention and he took our advice to heart and he set his priorities straight. Now my son wasn’t breaking any agreement or contract that he had signed, he was only hurting his own academics and potentially his career in the future, but God still gracefully allowed him to lose his car (which he paid over $12,000 of his own hard earned money on); he could have lost his life, but he didn’t, he didn’t even break one bone. And he thanked God it happened. Because today he is a lobbyist in Washington DC for a Fortune 200 company and he ended up marrying a different young woman. Now this grandmother was “shot” at, but was not injured in any way. And because of this incident, it was found out she was LYING and CHEATING on an agreement she signed. If she wanted to have other family members move in with her, she could have spoken to the owner or property mgmt and discussed the matter with them. But obviously, they were unaware of anyone besides this woman living in the property. Again, this can be seen as God’s Grace on her life, or you can whine and complain that it’s “unfair”. But it really isn’t. She signed and agreed and she didn’t keep it. END OF STORY…
That's the disheartening part. That woman should be enjoying life, enjoying her grandkids. These greedy property owners don't even have the courage to directly talk to her, they send our own ( the women in the office) to do the dirty work..I seen this ALOT IN THE ARMY.

THIS PART! I would be upset if my neighbors were bringing drama and trauma to a place that i call home and want to be a safe place. i go the sense it's a complex for senior AND she lied about additional tenants.
Exactly. I wouldn't want them as neighbors because they're dangerous. Those bullets could have hit someone that has nothing to do with them & that happens all the time with a certain group of people.
Sad situation. Sounds like management told her that her daughter had to go and she refused. Why wasn’t it told why their cars were shot up. They know why.
I just looked up this apartment complex and it's surprisingly cheap but maybe that's just the norm in Whitehaven, TN. So it looks like the apartments go from low 350-400 for studio-1bdr to around 890 for 3bdrm. Now these units are income restricted. I'm not sure if this is a senior facility but the restrictions go as follows : Per Person/Annual Income 1 $28,560 2 $32,640 3 $36,720 4 $40,740 5 $44,040 6 $47,280 Now since she didn't have her daughter on the lease I gather this would be a breach of contract especially if the daughter and children were in the unit for an extended period of time. This changes the terms of what they would charge for rent and if a 1 person unit turns into a place with 4 or 5 people then it's like they are being robbed from collecting the proper monthly rental amount. Let's not forget that the unit is using "utilities for 4-5 people when it was originally allocated for only 1 then they are costing the company MONEY. This sounds sad. It really does but let's get honest here.... Her daughter is not a child. Her daughter clearly is an adult with children. She let her daughter stay with her but for how long? Also a shooting where her daughter may have been the target where both of their cars get a spray of bullets not to mention their front door? Umm sounds like something is up with maybe the father of those children or maybe the daughter rejected some BM dusty loser and he followed her home to do something. Problem is that it sounds like there have been multiple incidents at the unit and the daughter nor the kids are on the lease so it appears they have overstayed their welcome. Grandma was supposed to BOOT them out within 2 days per the details of the notice on the door. Clearly she didn't want to listen to them so they are booting her out right along with them. No one wants that danger around them so they are making the call of "better you than me". I wouldn't even want to show my face on the news as I'd feel stupid as hell but that's the problem. Now could the daughter just be a victim of chance? Perhaps but based on this situation they aren't taking any chances. Also they aren't paying THEIR FAIR SHARE so to them it's easier to just remove them and move someone fresh that isn't attracting "bullets" and ditching proper fees. Still they should have given her a 30 day notice not a 3 day one or the could have given her a 60 day notice requiring all tenants be on lease with an updated rental rate for 4 persons. Still everyone knows even if she told her daughter to get out she'd just sneak back in at night. I've seen that before so the only option is to remove them all together that way there aren't any issues going forward. Really just ugly stuff but I always find it so odd that there are mothers, grandmothers and children but none of these "breeding" dudes around to take care of anyone. It's like they pop in, knock women up, leave them to struggle alone and then terrorize them and others in the environment.
That's a well documented script with a lot of valid points...I think I'll save it...I pray the mother can get somewhere safe to live the rest of her life in peace...The daughter is younger she'll be just fine...Peace and Blessings everyone...
Whitehaven is a fucked up area(excuse my language) in south Memphis so them prices don’t surprise me at all this grandma is living smack dab in the hood where things like that happen everyday but trying to evict her is so damn wrong…
I agree. I think that daughter was messing with a Dusty who shot the house up. And I agree it’s sad it’s never a man around to help care for the family. But you know what…there a movement going on with educated young ladies. They are tired and they want better lives. I’m happy for them. They are cleaning the Dust from their eyes.
I am a prior 'Property Manager' and the fact is that a lot of Managers will allow someone to move in that is not on the lease, however once something else follows then we may link the violence to the person that the tenant moved in that is not on the lease! If the tenant and their visitors are quiet then the property manager is quiet! A 'Property Manger's Noise' is the eviction that we serve! We want quality tenants!
That's crazy. The butthead perpetrators could have targeted her by mistake. She shouldn't have to pay the price for something she had nothing to do with. Now, if this drive-by wouldn't have happened, management may have never found out she had relatives living with her. See how that works?
Dorothy, I feel bad about your eviction, but you are not helping your case. Your daughter and grandkids should not be living with you if they are not on your lease. My mother in law lives in a senior living apartment complex like this. I feel bad for the grandmother but they aren't putting her out bc of the shooting alone. They are putting her out bc of a combination of things. That's why they gave her a few days to put her daughter out. These types of apartments are for seniors but family members can be added to the lease. The family member would then pay rent. So having her daughter and grandchildren living there for free plus the violence is why she is getting put out.
Your sentiment is in the right place but she would need a whole lot of money considering her daughter is not lifting a finger to help herself or even be in this interview.
There is a element of gang activity in that area who don’t really live in here but they have access to come in and going through their property and I guarantee the bullet in a grandmother vehicle has been another crime scene as well the police need to do the job
The mother has to think, "What is her daughter possibly involved in?" And she did violate her lease by having additional family living there without being on the lease. But being true to family can cause you problems when not on the lease.

Sad. However, as a renter, leases clearly state that you are responsible for the actions of your guests. She stated that only her and her daughter's cars were shot up, and, her daughter and grandkids were residing there illegally, against the lease agreement. In subsidized housing, this is a major infraction. This negates fraud. She could be prosecuted. Also, its suspect to me that her daughter knows nothing. My hope is that the mother would encourage her adult daughter to exit the nest, and become self sufficient.
She knows damn well that she was evicted because her neighbors fingered the person shooting up her car to be an acquaintance of her daughters. My grandmother was evicted for the exact same thing.

Well not necessarily, she could be in low-income housing, it’s not always as easy as it sounds to add someone on the lease especially with income restrictions.
That happened to my daughter. She and I were celebrating my granddaughters birthday, had the front door open, screen was unlocked and kids running everywhere. Suddenly, we saw police chasing someone on foot in the complex. Once they were out of sight we continued the party but brought all the kids inside. We didn't lock the door. 10 minutes later this stranger bursts through the door, closes it then runs in a bedroom and jumps out of a window. Meanwhile the police guns drawn are beating on the door and yelling to open and we are screaming that there are kids here and the guy went out the window. He was finally caught and arrested. 6 families including my daughter were evicted on the premise that they allowed a person on property that caused damage. He had also burst into 5 other family apartments and nobody knew who he was. Found out that he lived in an adjacent apartment complex and that's where the foot chase started.
I'm team #apartment manager. If reports of multiple gun shot incidents at this apartment and this was the only apartment/vehicle targeted plus she is breaking their lease agreement, then this is the proper response.

I'm not sure if this is a senior facility but the restrictions go as follows :
Per Person/Annual Income
1 $28,560
2 $32,640
3 $36,720
4 $40,740
5 $44,040
6 $47,280
Now since she didn't have her daughter on the lease I gather this would be a breach of contract especially if the daughter and children were in the unit for an extended period of time.
That's a well documented script with a lot of valid points...I think I'll save it...I pray the mother can get somewhere safe to live the rest of her life in peace...The daughter is younger she'll be just fine...Peace and Blessings everyone...

if the daughter not on lease its nothing to talk about
I am a prior 'Property Manager' and the fact is that a lot of Managers will allow someone to move in that is not on the lease, however once something else follows then we may link the violence to the person that the tenant moved in that is not on the lease!
Management should have become more proactive verses reactive in this instance. If this woman didn't have any prior issues (that were not investigated) they should have handled this better.
Not crazy.
She violated the lease and when told her daughter still din't leave.
She's not special.

Right....👍🏾
She was in violation when she allowed her daughter and children to live with her without informing the leasing office. Plus, she shouldn't have admitted to her family living with her. I would have lied, for real. That maybe another reason why they are going to want to evict her. Sometimes, people can say too much when it's not needed. I call it extra information.
All facts it's 2022 no extra 2cents needed!!! Glad the family safe. I won't even have my face on the news after something like this and they wouldn't have to put me out I would gladly Move quick.

She willfully broke the lease!
There are rules too follow when renting a home or apartment!
She allowed others to move into the home, knowing they were not on the lease agreement.
Now, if this drive-by wouldn't have happened, management may have never found out she had relatives living with her.
See how that works?
Senior living doesn't mean daughter and kids too.Don't let the door hit ya
Dorothy, I feel bad about your eviction, but you are not helping your case. Your daughter and grandkids should not be living with you if they are not on your lease. She’s carrying her daughter who, probably followed in her footsteps and has kids out of wedlock and is getting free tax payers dollars and still can’t act right.
So having her daughter and grandchildren living there for free plus the violence is why she is getting put out.
exactly, you hit all the nails on the heads
Poor lady I wish I had the money to help her . SMH !!!
So she has 3 people living in the unit who are not on the lease?

The mother has to think, "What is her daughter possibly involved in?" And she did violate her lease by having additional family living there without being on the lease. But being true to family can cause you problems when not on the lease.
SHE MADE HERSELF A TARGET BY ALLOWING HER DAUGHTER TO LIVE WITH HER. WHY WOULD A GROWN ASS DAUGHTER LIVE IN A SENIOR COMMUNITY HOUSING.
I used to manage apartments and I knew the grandmother wasn’t living there before she said it. We would have people come in and get apartments for their children knowing their kids up to know good. They just want them out of their house 😂 sad thing is that it’s going to be on granny’s credit!

I agree.
I think her daughter was the target plus she lives there illegally, and she brought the wars in her life to her mother's door.
She knows damn well that she was evicted because her neighbors fingered the person shooting up her car to be an acquaintance of her daughters.
My grandmother was evicted for the exact same thing.
Yes you could get prosecuted because. She did not report her daughter's income.
@Essie Boulton • It is understood there are lease violations here. I am living where there are 16 Mexicans in a 3 bedroom apartment clear lease violation and they do nothing here. Grandma need to make some decisions but evicting her during these times may not be the answer.

It would've been easier to just add her daughter and grand children. The daughter could've gotten a job to pull the slack if she hasn't already.
The daughter may have a felony record and can't be named on a lease. Otherwise, there's no reason for not adding her on.
EXACTLY
Well not necessarily, she could be in low-income housing, it’s not always as easy as it sounds to add someone on the lease especially with income restrictions.
That's not the reason for eviction
That’s low income housing. If her daughter was on the lease the household income would raise and she’d still be evicted.
😳WTF !?!?!?
That's crazy. They clearly have the criminal so it's a good chance you didn't let him in, he was running wild.

To me this is a situation Where you break the rules of a lease you are served papers. You go to court. You have a right to defend yourself. APPARENTLY she lives where there was a problem with someone breaking in her truck b4. She reported that. To me i would tell myself it's time to move period. I am surprised she was the only one speaking n her daughter was not with her at this time. We can all assume this or that yet like i said i would move. That is not as easy as it sounds but i would look for help she is consider an victim regardless even if her daughter was or is the target person. Somebody is sending a message to somebody or wanting someone hurt. I just hope there is a some where's were they help her n her daughter. If her daughter was the reason i would hope n pray she let her mother know n get out of there if they don't tell authorities anything. EITHER WAY B4 it was MY TRUCK NOW THIS I'M OUT OF HERE.
Yes you are right I would ask them to not put an eviction on me and I will still move out which would make it easier for her to find a home.plus nobody shouldn't know where you live. believe she allowed her daughter to use her truck so that's why it was shot up . Whatever you do please don't take your daughter she can go to a shelter.

I'm willing to bet her daughter was the target. Might be hiding out at moms house from an EX because where was she and the kids living before this? With the kids father maybe? If the lady was still living alone, none of this would have happened.
