If anyone ever had a doubt about the durability and capability of this splitter they would be erased after watching your videos. You have done more than anyone on promoting this splitter. And the mods you did shows that this splitter has even more potential. Nice job on all the mods. That landing leg is a perfect fit. Yeah the autocycle is nice, is it needed no. But it is nice to have and it is by far a better valve than what the splitter comes with. Keep up the good work!
Absolutely love the adjustable wedge... I have the same splitter ... working on that modification for mine . Love all the mods !!! Keep up the great work !!!!
Thinking of buying this machine. I talked to Rugged Made today.. They do not reccomend the adjustable wedge, and would not customize one for me. I know Jake from DIY did the same. Your video was excellent on this, but I do not possess these skills. I am, in central Wi. and processed and sold 20 cord this season, mostly bundles is my specialty. We will talk sometime. I did meet you at the 1st Firewood Frenzy in Eauclaire, Wi, could not make it last year. I watch all your vids and look forward to the, and to party with you sometime.
As I've said in the past I'd like to learn more about welding and fabrication but not in the best health. I personally think you've added some serious value to the machine. Great job and keep it up
Great Modifications Scheib! I like what you did to your bundle grade wedge as well! If you do a autocycle, surplus center has the Prince valves. Nice stack of wood in the back!
Hi Scheib - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. I know I said it before to you but it's worth repeating - your machine is the most impressive performer at its price point that I've seen on UA-cam. Rugged Made would be well advised to offer your mods as a deluxe version, I imagine it could well sell more than the original. Whackin Axes's machine is the best value on the $1500 market.
Looks like RM needs to incorporate some Mods! and maybe ask experienced operators like you for advice! In my opinion Adjustable wedge and Auto cycle are must haves.... Good Video.
I wonder how many people purchased this machine after seeing your other videos and thinking the wedge comes adjustable on the machine. I sure as fuck was considering getting this machine The northerntool brand used to have one exactly like the Easton mades and it was 42ton. Easton coppied northstar
Did you purchase a additional valve / lever assembly from rugged to add extra hydrolic solenoid for adjustable height blade? I seen on their website they sell a similar product for this upgrade.
Have you modified the air filter and assembly? I’m thinking about a replacement on my 322 model because the foam air filter seems weak. Thank you for your vids!
Love the adjustable wedge, would love to put something like that on my processor. I get tons of ideas just not the best at following through either lack of knowledge or tools.. awesome job🍻🍻
Hey brother, how in hell did I miss this video? Your Fabrication and Mods vids are some of my favorites! Very practical and obviously functional alterations you have made to this unit. Nice work. Now that there's an EstonMade in your woodyard is there going to be any more love for the Ol RuggedSplit? Bless'ns to ya my good man, Tedd
I’d like to see/hear how you plumbed the valve to the wedge adjustment cylinder. Btw I did a couple more mods on mine by putting a harbor freight crane and 3500 winch on the back and the auto cycle. I also have a 22gpm pump. What is your pump?
@@OutsidewithScheib great work. Just watched it in action in your splitting big oak video. Love the ruggedmade content . Your mods are tasteful and seem to work well for you

The machine is a good machine for the money but the adjustable wedge is definitely a game changer for sure. I am sure we will meet again someday.

They're great ideas. I will try and do the same.
Great job on the mods. That twist off lite can is my favorite liquid delivery method
Thanks Tim love the pounders
You should be a consultant for Rugged Ridge
Consultant lol not sure if I could make it in that world I may look into buying and modifying their machines for sale.
Awesome improvements 🪵🪓🔥👍👏✔️

I get many questions about where I got it with the adjustable wedge they couldn’t find one on their website.
A LOT OF GOOD IMPROVMENTS
Thanks Michael
Great job on the mods Scheib! Rugged split will be stealing those ideas for their new models! 👍🏻👍🏻
Lol well we shall see I didn’t patent them so it’s a free for all

Yes I purchased the same valves that come with the machine for the adjustable wedge mod.

No I have never gave it a thought and thanks for watching.
@@OutsidewithScheib The predator 420 performance intake is a direct fit, I have good luck running mine and it is an inexpensive mod $30
Some smart modifications, American Ingenuity at Work here! Take Care!🍺🔥🇱🇷
Great modifications
Thanks EJK
Looks good Scheib. The weather is warming up so it’s time to get splitting. Cheers 🍻 buddy.
Great look at all the awesome modifications, thanks for the demo! -Brad

hi there The only plans you have is you plans to make it .John

Free Ram, was it still hooked up to the scraper.?
Nice mods on the splitter.
Take care
No it wasn’t but it was in the dumpster with plugs in the line holes I am pretty sure it was new.
i been thinking on making a box wedge for mine. have you thought of this yet?
Definitely thinking about it
I like your new video the moming you did a really good jop on your Log splitter this look really cool good jop on your log splitter buddy 🍺🍺
Nice mods Don! Nothing wrong with improving a good machine to make it better🍻
What is your opinion of the Raven engine.
havent had a problem with it so far.
@@OutsidewithScheib Thank you.
That’s a nice setup now . 👍
What did it cost you, the splitter?
At the time 3700 but I believe they are more now. www.Ruggedmade.com
how long did it take for you to do the adjustable wedge, cylinder and bracket mod? like actual labor time?
maybe 2 hours but the design took way longer till i figured out what i wanted to do.
@@OutsidewithScheib great work. Just watched it in action in your splitting big oak video. Love the ruggedmade content . Your mods are tasteful and seem to work well for you
Nice mods Scheib.
You should get a patent on you mods incase Rugged split tried to start installing it on there splitters
You need to get a ms261 when your 290 farmboss quits if it ever dose being a sthil it probably wont no time soon
My cousin has the ms311 if anything I will go bigger but the 500I is on my radar.
If you do decide to add the auto cycle, you’d be set!
