Dino the Seriema at Paradise Park Cornwall

One of the most popular birds at Paradise Park was Dino, a Red-legged Seriema who sadly passed away in March 2017. He will be very much missed by staff and visitors, who would have seen him staring in the ‘Eagles of Paradise’ display at noon each day. He was a fantastic character, and was able to show people some of the key characteristics of a seriema , such as, although seriema’s can fly short distances, they prefer to run from predators. And they have a very distinctive call that can travel over a mile and is one of the most characteristic sounds of the South American grasslands where they live.”
