UPDATE: I deleted the previous video because of a few technical mistakes. Sorry about that ^^;
The Phoenix Wright franchise is copyrighted property of Capcom and I do not claim ownership of it. - Ігри
I thought it was brilliant how Phoenix uses the Magtama on Matt Engarde and technically, he doesn't lie. It throws you off the scent, and then slams straight back into you with that reveal. When Phoenix Wright games are on, they are brilliant.
I freaked out when I saw that, the reveal was just brilliant
I was under the impression it wasn’t a lie detector, it’s a way of seeing things people are hiding from you.
Matt didn’t kill anyone, but hired Shelly to do it.
@@JaelinBezel well wouldn’t lying technically be a way of hiding something from somebody?
they've always been brilliant
I'm surprised Justice For All is finally getting the recognition it deserves. It's final episode is easily the MOST satisfying case in the entire franchise. Not a single case up to that point was so brilliantly handled. Not only did it make me feel personally involved, but I felt completely helpless... Good writing can make you relate to a situation deeply...but great writing makes you feel like you're actually there experiencing those moments along side the characters.
Farewell My Turnabout has always been the most loved case though, hasn't it?
Violet Wynters
Bridge to the Turnabout is a HUGE contender for that title, however.

Once you play Investigations 2, you'll see how good a 3rd case can get.
+randezzel27
B3 I'll have to play it soon then.
+Wambu The translation patch is actually pretty good (my only main issue is that a handful of the jokes fall pretty flat).
+randezzel27 I think that justice for all and apollo justice is the only ace attorney games with bad 3rd cases. (Yes, I really like turnabout samurai)
I actually really liked turnabout target. Favourite 1st case IMO
+Wambu After playing investigations 2 you might want to make a new revised top 5 cases video in which 4 of of the slots are occupied by Investigations 2 cases. And not Turnabout Academy.
You should've mention the moment when Franziska finally arrives to the courtroom in Farewell, My Turnabout. If that's not the most epic moment in the series I don't know what it is.
Miru Jaca maybe the one where Phoenix says objection and Mia appears next to him and he says "it's under your mask" and the original cornered theme starts playing and ahhh it's so good
my favorite is Farewell, my Turnabout though
Miru Jaca Last case in SOJ says hello
@@anintendofankindaguy1368 When I heard Cornered in that moment, I actually dropped my DS
And then if you fail to provide the correct evidence: "The miracle never happen"
Funny thing is, Apollo Justice WAS my introduction to the series.
My first impression of Phoenix Wright, was HoboPhoenix.
The anime was mine. Yes, the anime of all things. It got me into the series as a whole.
Me too
Same here!
HoboPhoenix is a legend
I mean... My introduction to the series was the meme "you are not a clown, you are the entire cicrus"
...is it bad that I've got Farewell My Turnabout saved just before you do the final choice in the game, JUST to experience Matt clawing his face out over and over again whenever I want?
no
Abunai Gaming Not. At. All.
Abunai Gaming I have T&T saved right before the final objection
In Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice, I have the second save file only there to see a breakdown of a character.
It's good.
Third case syndrome: Exists
The Inherited Turnabout & Turnabout Academy: I'm about to destroy this whole man's career
The Rite of Turnabout is really good too.
Spirit of justice, investigations 1 , professor Layton vs Ace attorney and dual destinies: not this time
Turnabout Samurai was cool.
Love how they handled third cases once they noticed it’s problems. I love how whenever creators know something won’t do well, they bullshit so hard to make sure if it isn’t good it’s very memorable. That’s what sold me on rite of turnabout and paper mario color splash. They did everything in their power to make it an absolute blast.
_Turnabout samurai will remember that_

I don't understand "third case syndrome". I really liked turnabout samurai and turnabout serenade. And the one from trials and tribulations wasn't too bad either. The only third case I really don't like is turnabout big top.
It's doesn't necessarily say they are bad, but the least memorable and least plot heavy. It kind of seems like filler before the big finale
Well, the problem with Case 3 is that five sixths of the time, they come before something huge. The exception is Case 6-3 (which doesn't come before anything big). In that instance, the fourth case does that, since in T&T (which would have been an exception if not for what I'm about to say) the fourth case may not be really epic or be the finale, but it takes place during the finale and is important to understanding the finale. Most of the third cases are designed to be more calm cases so that the final case has more of an impact, and as a result, usually end up totally overshadowed by the cases on either side of it, which are bigger and grander due to being between the first real case of the game and the finale. The case that comes right before the grand finale will typically be designed to get less reaction out of you on the "stressed" and "tense" side of things, because it'll make the final case pack more of a punch.
They're not designed to be bad. They're just designed to make Case 4 and 5 look good. Case 2 in any game on the other hand is designed to build up the game itself. It's there to build on the foundations set out by the first case, and help set up for the last cases, but it's still meant to look amazing so that you want to keep playing.
This is also why Rise from the Ashes falls a little flat to many people, by the way. Case 1-3 builds up Case 1-4, but 1-4 doesn't build up or relate to 1-5.
Aside from Dual destinies, of course
2-3 is literally fucking filler but all other third cases feel just as exciting as the second cases.
parappathegamer I agree. Turnabout Samurai was a little boring, but not too bad, and TAT's third case wasn't bad. I actually liked it more than the second case, I just thought Ron was the most obnoxious character in Ace Attorney history. As for Turnabout Big Top, it's definitely my least favorite in the franchise, but it's really not that bad. I mean, the worst thing about it is the whole "cloak latched onto the bust" thing, but honestly, if you ignore the shitty animation the game shows for it and think about it realistically, it actually kinda makes sense.
Edit: P.S The main thing that bothers me about third cases is how the characters are always weird or unusual. Samurais, clowns, french chefs who claim to be a woman (my favorite out of these), a borginian singer, etc. They're usually completely unrelated to the story, whereas second cases build up the story, and fourth cases reveal new info and plot twists about the story (and first cases are tutorials I guess).
Am I the only one who likes Rise From the Ashes?
It's... Ok
It is one of the longest cases in the series, but because of this, it’s also one of the most interesting, elaborate, and fulfilling cases in Ace Attorney.
+Christopher Bittinger Yeah, I like it a lot more than Turnabout Goodbies. It's by far the darkest case in the series.
+Klemen Kekec I have to disagree with you on that. Farewell, My Turnabout and Turnabout for Tomorrow are both darker.
David Guthary The whole story of a man going apeshit and killing a bunch of people, including children, with a switchblade and the whole SL-9 incident in the office was a lot darker than anything Farewell, My Turnabout did, because it's a different kind of case that focuses more on a moral dilemma than mystery. Turnabout for Tomorrow could have been dark and it is in concept, but Dual Destenies has a very light tone that makes things feel less grounded. Sure, Ace Attorney was always over the top. But the Joe Darke stuff felt like it could have actually happened. Dual Destenies kind of loses that when it starts talking about a man leaping 40 feet off a ladder onto a moving building.
Farewell, My Turnabout is completely insane, and I love it. Adrian Andrews Character, the whole Celeste Impax Storyline, Maya's Sidestory, Phoenix's Inner Conflict, the relationship between him and Edgeworth, the insanely high stakes, the twist villain, everything is just genius and crazy at the same time.
My top-choices from each game:
AA1: Rise from the Ashes beats Turnabout Goodbyes by a tiny bit, yet both cases are outstanding with very satisfying endings.
AA2: Obviously Farewell, My Turnabout is by far the best from the second game, the plot twist (regarding the true villain) and the moral dilemma were simply great
AA3: Definitely Bridge To The Turnabout, my favourite Ace Attorney case of all time, with the best ending the trilogy could possibly get and again with an amazing plot twist at the end.
AA4: Tough choice between the first and the last case, however I think overall Turnabout Succession offers more and ties together the whole story from the first case. Yet unfortunately this case is not flawless and only has a mediacore last trial, tbh.
AA5: Thats the most difficult one, imo Dual Destinies has 3 superb cases: Turnabout Academy (overall great case), Turnabout For Tomorrow and Turnabout Reclaimed (what an amazing ending) and I love all of them. If I had to choose one yet I would probably choose Turnabout For Tomorrow, the plottwist just blew my mind and I love the backgroundstory (the "dual destinies") of the 2 new characters in the game, it honestly brought tears to my eyes.
AA6: Turnabout Revolution is nothing you have experienced before with twists and surprises already starting in the first Investigation Phase and an incredibly well written story.
I'd like RFTA more if it wasn't so long. Parts of it feel drawn-out (mainly the investigation parts), and I only remember the last trial day with fondness.
And as for Turnabout Succession...I like it tbh (Corner is the weakest one in that game for me), but Trump is better because it subverts your expectations but also leaves enough loose ends that you believe there's an explanation (and there is, in a later case). Part of the problem with just subverting expectations in movies is that either they give a flimsy explanation that doesn't hold up or betrays someone's character, or they expect you to just go along with it without promising any sort of explanation. Trump expects you to go along with it but also drops a few hints that there's something bigger going on, and the finale will provide answers because that's how this franchise has operated. Plus it's AWESOME as a tutorial case
Rise from the ashes is my fav case, i know it's too long and kinda sucks to take place after the 4th case but the entire story of case 5 almost gave me the chills throughout the trials and investigations. How it fucked up my mind with the murder happening at 2 places at once (which was explained later in the trials) and that serial killer who was creepy as fuck then the freakin traumatic incident in the offices. that case was damn darker than I could expect
+Stalker Totally agree. The picture of Neil Marshall impaled on that suit of armor still makes my stomach turn.
I like RFTA better than Turnabout Goodbyes
I actually loved rise from the ashes right after turnabout goodbyes. Yes it was long but having two phenominal cases back to back wasn't a bad thing for me. One of my faves as well. It really felt the most involved, and in that way, made it really satisfying once you finally reached the conclusion.
Rfta was actually really good even though it's long but i much preferred turnabout goodbyes cause i have a huge hatred for Damon Gant

We need Athena Cykes: Ace Attorney to be made.

@microorganism giorno yes, Both Nick and pollo shirt has their own game
They should make it in 2D too
@@mkkd_5254 god no
@microorganism giorno Well with both Phoenix and Apollo having their arcs complete in three games each the next 3 realistically should focus on her more. Dual Destinies was more of her introduction than her game. It was a Phoenix back in the court and Apollo dealing with past issues. Spirit of Justice is than Apollo's sendoff wrapping up his loose ends. Athena is the next character that needs expanding on. I don't know what we would focus on. There would probably be some plotline with either her father or some adult that was an additional parental figure as we only saw her mom. We could see her trying to handle more cases on her own as she is extremely young. Maybe more childhood friends idk. We could have an insane connection to the spy story of Dual Destinies

Turnabout Goodbyes was intense, slowly figuring out Von Karma was actually the killer was a good plot twist imo.
I feel kind of stupid for realizing this late, but I just figured out something silly. xP Well, Phoenix, Apollo, and Athena... all names of Greek mythological figures... as soon as I heard Athena, it snapped to my head x3
Might just be a coincidence. Or is it time to break out the good old Incredibles reference? 🤔
D'oh-nim. It's D'oh-nim. I took French.
Bridge to the Turnabout is probably my favorite just because of how well it ties the entire goddamn trilogy together. Everyone acts like the family unit I love them as, just working together seamlessly with all the witty dialogue and character interaction I love from this series... I try really hard to make sure popular biases don't impact my opinion, but it really lives up to its reputation. I love it.
However, that's mostly just because of how well it ties everything together. For stand alone cases, my favorites would probably be Turnabout Corner and Turnabout Big Top, because they're just a good time the whole way through. Turnabout Trump was by far the best starting case the series has ever had, though.
+NightFlowerLuv Oh, NOW I get the joke! Because it's actually Maya and Mia's mother under an assumed name.
I suppose using the first name Sue would have been too on the nose.
I am French, and you actually don't pronounce the "M" at the end of the name. The "im" actually makes a nasal sound that is the same than "in", "ain", etc. (still in French) and it is really hard to find an equivalent for english pronunciation.
The wiktionary suggests that it is similar than the "a" in "plan", and yes it is pretty resembling.
So D'oh-na, with the "a" pronunced like the "a" in "plan".
***** Oh, thanks for the correction! I took French years ago so I really didn't mean to come off as know-it-all-ish as I did there. Sorry!
No problem at all! I am in a good position to know that French can be, well... pretty damn complicated at times! At least German and Spanish pronunciations are rather methodic, but French... I feel the pain of English and American learners!
But I still love our beautiful language ;)
You didn't seem pretentious, I merely wanted to correct you. And I agree with what you say about the cases.

Turnabout Goodbyes was always the reason I loved Ace Attorney, because it highlighted a lot of why Edgeworth had been so drastically changed when Phoenix saw him again. The death of his father and the deep belief he had committed the crime, hating his time with Von Karma for warping him into someone so evil but also being slightly grateful because it gave him Franziska, and then coming to terms with the fact that he grew up being raised by his only family’s murderer. It’s Turnabout Goodbyes that really kicks off Miles’ redemption as he repairs his relationship with Nick, and then later with Franziska in Trials and Tribulations. It’s just really good for him to finally get closure as the many years spent having to believe he had killed his own father.
my all-time favourite has to be rise from the ashes, I just really love the story
Azzayo it has an epic villain
Farewell, My Turnabout is #1!
The miracle happen! THE MIRACLE HAPPEN!!!!
I’m actually just recently getting more into the ace attorney fandom
So Danganronpa isn’t the only one that suffers third case syndrome?
Yeeepppp
Advice: dont watch these videos before experiencing the video games themselves. 2-3 had one glaring flaw, but other than that I really liked it. I thought I was gonna fundamentally hate everything about the case, because many fans kept attacking it.
Third case syndrom doesnt apply to Ace Attorney imo. It's too reductive of a rule.
Even the third cases in AA don’t get as bad as they do in Danganronpa
Also, the third case syndrome in danganronpa is more about their glaring similarities and how the games are so formulaic it gets annoying. Meanwhile the syndrome in AA is just the 3rd case usually being of lower quality than the others. Usually.
I loved your list. I agree that Farewell, My Turnabout got really intense. You really feel for Phoenix...I was torn while playing it. I think that Bridge to the Turnabout will always be my favorite, but I actually loved Turnabout Samurai. I thought that the Steel Samurai was the coolest thing, and I was always cracking up at Wendy Oldbag. She despised everyone except for Edgeworth. My ringtone was the 8-bit version of the Steel Samurai theme for a few years. Now, it's an 8-bit version of the Game of Thrones theme! LOL! The best music, in my opinion, is from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. When I heard that cross-examination music...I FELT SO BADASS. Maybe you should do a favorite tracks from the game series? Or favorite villains...characters...keep up the good work!

Great commentary, you really capture the spirit of these cases!
Fair that you want to include one from each game, and I agree with what you picked- HOWEVER I think Rise from the Ashes is one of the best in the series (though Turnabout Goodbyes is phenomenal too) and I think both ought to have been included.
I share your opinion on the best case from each game for the original trilogy, although Rise from the Ashes is very close for the first game.
For Apollo Justice, my favourite case is actually Turnabout Corner. I know it doesn't really have a lot to do with anything, but I do think it was a solid case and it didn't want to make me tear my hair out at any moment or be incredibly bored.
From Dual Destinies, my favourite case is Turnabout for Tomorrow. It was a thrilling conclusion that brought great closure on Athena and Blackquill's stories in that game.
My favourite from Spirit of Justice is The Magical Turnabout. I like the not-so subtle jab at Turnabout Serenade where Trucy immediately tells you how a magic trick works once she's asked because she knows it will help the case, I felt like I could believe the relationship Apollo and Trucy had and the characters introduced were a lot of fun. The culprit was also such a magnificent bastard.
“You’re scaring the children!”

I really enjoyed this top 5, as well as your top 5 least favorite AA cases. Nice insight into the franchise! It's always fun to see what other fans think of various cases.
Fantastic list and commentary, very well thought out and put together. WHY DOESN'T THIS HAVE MORE VIEWS AND LIKES HE DESERVES IT :(
Farewell, my Turnabout is absolutely brilliantly executed. Throughout it's many games, cases can sometimes feel very formulaic but Farewell, my Turnabout flips the script in a way no case has ever come close to doing. Bridge to Turnabout does have really interesting twists and turns and Turnabout Goodbyes marked a very early turning point in the series but none come close to how Farewell, my Turnabout presents itself. It's so seemingly simple at the beginning but every second the stakes get higher and higher. It doesn't even feel like you're playing Ace Attorney anymore, it feels like you're playing something new.
For some reason, my favourite case is turnabout academy. I love:
story
Characters
Music
Breakdown
Emotion overloads
AAAAAAATHEEEEENAAAAA
The secrets of the three friends
Locations
Conversations
Villain
Cutscenes
And last... it's goddamn dual destinies!
5:59 Thank you Wambu, I've been doing this with all sorts of videos for the last few months😊
WHY IS BRIDGE TO THE TURNABOUT NOT NUMBER 1?! SERIOUSLY?! Farewell My Turnabout is well written and everything, but Bridge to The Turnabout is so much more in depth, it ties together all the loose ends that were left from Turnabout Goodbyes and Turnabout Reminiscence. And the intensity! You go through pretty much every emotion that the game can stir in you! Despair, Elation, Sadness and the payoff scene with Godot actually made me cry.
Yea...but its another case where you are simply seeking the turth.
I agree with the list in video. Final case of T&T was epic and plot twists made me eat my hair...
But final case of JFA is best one beacause it's so diffrent from any other case.
First you take a case beacause of blackmail by assasin but you feel relief finding out Matt isn't lying about murdering Juan because of no psyche-locks. After exhausting trial it comes out he was murdered by hired assasin and the client apperas to be Matt. Yeah he wasn't lying about killing the victim indeed. After breaking his psyche-locks about secret we find out he is a twisted selfish douchebag that doesn't care about anyone and is simply using Phoenix, Maya and even assasin as his tools. We were genuienly fooled.
And here's the thing that makes this case so much different and better thatn any else. You ALREADY know the whole truth but you cannot let everything spew in the court. You need to keep your true feelings at bay and focus on rescuing the selfish killer.
It's so againts the Phoenix and everything he believes in. Stalling for time and drawning out the trail.
"Bridge to turnabout" was excellent for overall story developing but "farewell, my turnabout" is even better.
It didn't need complicated convoluted story to be great.
SilverSoldier90 I can barely choose, they're both incredible, but I like Farewell my Turnabout better. It just carries so much emotional weight and has you stressed out the whole way through, resulting in you being forced to never let your guard down. And this is just reinforced by the music "Hotline of Fate". It's one of my favorite tracks in the franchise, because it just fits so god damn well for the situation where it plays. It's a big part of why I was so stressed out the whole time. Oh, and the final court sitting is just sooo good. It really feels like everything is happening here and now, because of how Gumshoe is chasing down de Killer (I like to pronounce that with a French accent) as you're trying to buy him more time. The best example of this is when he calls in the middle of the sitting and you throw Edgeworth the phone. But what I will say is that the final Objection in Bridge to the Turnabout is easily the best single moment in the series, but I don't think it wins the fight for the whole case. I'll also admit that Bridge to the Turnabout is more fitting for the role of ending the original trilogy, with all the loose ends it ties up. But in terms of general preference, I prefer Farewell my Turnabout.
Its his opinion, you dont need to say he is wrong because he doesnt like it as much as you
Bridge to the turnabout relies on several other cases to support it, while Farewell my turnabout Is great on its own.
Saltyoven yeah in my opinion it’s has more build up then fmt cause it takes things from all three games then pays them of plus Dahlia Hawthorne is a better Antagonist then Matt Engarde and then ending with Godot is super sad
I really like "Farewell My Turnabout" because It really surprised me how a defendant can actually be guilty. I guess it brings the "Always believe in your client." mentality into question. Are all defendants not guilty? Especially in Matt Engarde's case? Also, it really tests Wright's morality on what is a lawyer is and what they should do. Should you defend a client who's guilty? Or prove your client's guilt and face the consequences? It really tests your morality on right and wrong.
I love Rise From the Ashes, it's legit my favorite case in the game just because of the new characters. Don't let me get started on Gant, legit one of the most intimidating murderers of the AA series to date.
Rise From the Ashes just rubs me the wrong way personally. It's so goddamn long, and since it was clumsily stuck to the end of the first game, it doesn't work. In my opinion, Bridge to the Turnabout should've been that long. Phoenix fell into a river notorious for washing it's victims away to their deaths, and yet he just gets a fever. Have him be in a coma or something so we can play as Edgeworth more. It would also make more sense based on Eagle River's reputation. Imagine this.
The case proceeds as normal until Phoenix falls into the river. Edgeworth is summoned, and we have a brief scary moment where they find Phoenix washed up on the shore on the brink of death. Phoenix is in critical condition, so Edgeworth takes control for almost the whole case. In the first trial Pearl helps him. There is an extra Investigation and Trial in between the original two, and during the Investigation Edgeworth gets close to realizing Dahlia's involvement, but since he doesn't believe in spirit channeling, he dismisses the thought. Iris/Dahlia/Maya whatever you want to call the abomination of one character disguised as another character while actually being another character at the same time, finds Edgeworth, and tries to poison him. Before Edgeworth is poisoned, Godot interrupts them. Godot knows the game Edgeworth is playing, but agrees to go along with it for now. The new Trial is still against Fransiska, with Godot by Edgeworth's side. (This is still with the blonde Judge. He doesn't recognize Godot as Diego Armando.) We get a fun scenario with all three prosecutors from the trilogy working together/competing, then Godot leaves during the recess. NOW we have the confrontation with Fransiska. Edgeworth goes head to head with her, and she actually outsmarts him. As the Trial reaches it's close, Godot informs Edgeworth that Phoenix has woken up, and he needs to hold on just a little longer. Edgeworth calls back to his trials against Phoenix, and takes a page out of Wright's book. He bluffs up a storm, and extends the trial one last day. We have a heartwarming scene where Edgeworth and Franziska part ways, and she mocks him for almost losing. Edgeworth laughs this off, and tells her that she is still his little sister with a whip. She storms off, and Edgeworth meets Phoenix in the Hotti Clinic. We actually get to see Phoenix through the eyes of another character, and Edgeworth officially reconciles with his Phoenix, and the part as friends. The rest of the case goes as normal
Yuesss. I've been waiting for this. I have to say, it was totally worth the wait.

Glad I didn't disappoint ya, mate ^-^
+Wambu Aww thanks. ☺️
It's so nice to find people who like these cases as much as I do! Farewell, My Turnabout has always been my absolute favorite out of all of the AA games.
As a kid, that transfer between personalities with Matt Engarde was one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
So wait, for once in a AA game the defendant ACTUALLY IS GUILTY!? I can die happy now.
I can see where you're coming from with number 1, but I still say Bridge is my personal favorite. Although, for me, I have to say, I absolutely loved Godot, so it seemed a shame I - the player - would be the one to have him charged with murder. That said, Bridge will always be my favorite case; just a perfect way to tie everything up and end the trilogy.
I agree with you about Farewell, My Turnabout! It has a special feeling to it that no other case has.
That parrot in Turnabout Goodbyes has still scarred me after the pain and suffering I went through.
Reunion my Turnabout is my favorite from JFA, but Farewell my Turnabout is a very close second
I don't understand why people like Turnabout Academy. I found it boring and too sappy. I could tell that Hugh, Robin, and Junie were all going to have a happy ending, because cmon, they're all dumb kids in College, and Means had no reason to kill the victim (I'm watching this before seeing what Wambu has to say about the case). I love Turnabout For Tomorrow. That one actually gripped my emotions, what with the stakes being raised because of Blackquill's execution the next day, Athena's framing, and Apollo's doubt, it all felt perfect to me. And the Phantom's breakdown was amazing, even if we didn't have any of our questions answered.
Couldn't agree more.
Means did have a motive. Constance Courte discovered Means was taking bribes and she confronted him. Look where that landed her.
Kawaii Noble Wright I personally thought The Phantom was a crap villain. He literally didn't have a personality and we know NOTHING about him or his background like every other great Ace Attorney Villain. I actually thought it would have been fine if Fulbright actually was the Phantom. He would at least have a personality and we could have learned more about his background. This pretty much ruined Cases 4 and 5 for me.
Well he just explained why he liked it so you are probably deaf
5:59 "Great timing on the pause button btw :D" why thank you!
Thank you!!!!! I thought I was crazy putting Farewell, My Turnabout on the top of my list lol. Glad someone agrees
Wambu, since SOJ came out, are you willing to tell me how The Fifth case Place on this list?
Finally someone who thinks that Farewell is better than Bridge! Don't kill me, but I prefer Farewell than Bridge and JFA is, for me, better than T&T
Yoshiko Pants me too. I do think Bridge was a better way to end the trilogy, but in terms of general preference I prefer Farewell.
I’m a sucker for long interconnected story arcs so Bridge is my favorite
I finished “Farewell, my Turnabout” yesterday and i honestly had never cried at a videogame untill that moment, that moment after the credits.
Rise from the Ashes has gotta make my list.
Playing that the first time, realizing *why* Lana is trying to be found guilty, but pushing forward anyway to uncover the truth until realizing it might just go even deeper... incredible.
It's such a long case though.
Chief Gant was probably my favorite antagonist of all the cases
Are you going to do something on the tough break update on team fortress 2?
Also, I love your videos, YOU PLAY GAMES I LIKE.
Are you hyped for game six? I'm hyped! my friends know it too. And they wish they didn't. I'm driving everybody off the wall fangirling :P the anime looks beautiful and amazing too.
Your channel is great, with great videos. You made my day with having a great quality video about ace attorney. Definitely subbing.
Your number 1 honestly surprised me dude! I thought I was going to see T&T make first but it's still pretty interesting!
I don't get the love for Turnabout Trump. Don't get me wrong, I do think it's the strongest first case in the series, but the first case tends to not be very good. In most of the games it's my second least favorite after case 3 (The exception being Dual Destinies where it *is* my least favorite, and case 3 is really great, possibly the best in the game). It's way too easy, and there's not enough character development for me to be really invested. I find them to be really forgettable, and, except for The First Turnabout (because I've played that one a million times and also it's kind of one of the most iconic cases of the series), I tend to forget what goes on in them until I re-play them.
And of course the top 3 were the top 3. There's simply no doubt that those are the absolute high points of the series. I can never decide which of them is my favorite, though I think the one that I have the most affection for is Turnabout Goodbyes, just because of how many times I've played the first game and how much I love Edgeworth, but Bridge and Farewell are both absolutely phenomenal.
1.Bridge
2.Revolution
3.Succession
4.Farewell
5.Rise from the Ashes
6.Goodbyes
7.Trump
8.Beginnings
9.Magical
10.Countdown
Most of the cases that I personally love involve the biggest plot twists in the series. And they're usually the last cases (yes, including Rise from the Ashes, even if that was hella long and hella tedious to play through)! Especially JFA because you really needed to tread carefully during the cross-examinations of Shelly de Killer!
I like how you took your favorite case from each game!
Matt Engarde is literally the best villain and I absolutely love the case. It’s so goddamn interesting. Engarde is just. So good. I love him.
personally for me it's miles Edgeworth investigation the weakest game. but prosecutor path is fucking awesome!
Investigations is AWESOME!😡
The Dark PigKnight
Kay apart, the rest was a little bit flaw...
+Smyce P I'm just at the beginning of I-4, but I'm in love with the game. It may have its bullshit moments, but all the new gameplay mechanics were really well designed. I was surprised when I found out Kay wasn't exactly useless in the middle of I-3.
TheDiego908
Yes but his sequel do all that but is more interessing from a narrative point of view
if 3-5 wasn't my favourite case in the entire series, I2-5 would be. fuck man, that case is fucking epic
Turnabout Goodbyes is the best case, and second best arc I've ever read in a story, second only to the PTSD arc in MLA.
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how perfect Hotline of Fate is? It just fits so well. You're being called by an assassin, the best character could be killed if you say the wrong thing, and Hotline of Fate conveys that perfectly. That combined feeling of stress and "OH ARE WE GONNA FIND HIM?!" Is perfectly captured in the music.
I sound like von Karma with all this perfection talk
I swear if Bridge to the Turnabout isn't one, I'm gonna be very sad :(
EDIT : I'm getting the shotgun.
TheGamingPro
It's two, is that enough?
edit yet even tho its not edited :|
do-nim, as in "pseudonym" :0
Once Ace Attorney 6 comes out, are you planning a top 10 of these including the spin-of games like Investigations and Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright?
As grand and epic of a case as Farewell My Turnabout was, Turnabout Beginnings left a bigger impression on me. Seeing Terry Fawles die on the witness stand because of Dahlia was heart wrenching.
My least favorite case in DD is Turnabout Academy because the murder was terribly written, and I bet you know why
You can't expect everybody to know what you're talking about without elaborating. And I'm not just saying that because of how much I disagree with that.
Ok, i'll explain. The murder itself is an alright plot, but the twist was godawful. It was the exact samething as the mock trial? Thats so stupid!
Well i lost the bet then because i love that case
I like Big Top..... And Justice for all us my favourite game..... please kill me....
Wow same. Except i like apollo justice, but more because of apollo
Same
The end of Farewell, My Turnabout had me all misty-eyed, especially at that photo part where Maya, Pearl, and Phoenix finally reunite.
Unfortunately I had to immediately leave for work so I couldn't dwell on it much. Same thing happened with Bioshock Infinite: I didn't think I was that close to the end credits so I kept going hoping to get to a stopping point and then WHAM! it ended. Didn't even have any time to spare whatsoever for the end credits. This is why I don't like fully engaging in anything when I have somewhere to be that day.
Third case syndrome: “Dual Destinies is the exception”
Turnabout Samurai: *Am I a joke to you?*
Yes
*penultimate means second last.
Dammit. Why am I so bad at words XD That's my mistake. Thanks for pointing that out.
1. Grand
2. For Tomorrow
3. Inherited
4. Academy
5. Farewell/Bridge
I know I'm really late to the party but anyways, I have a few issues with Bridge to Turnabout and one of them is something that was bought up in the video about the worst cases regarding Turnabout Big Top: they could have all just talked to each other and it probably would have ended soo much better for everyone or they could have changed tiny bits of their plan. Still loved the case and the build up to it, but the ending of the trial didn't fully work for me, also because at this point I was just fed up with Godot's deep talk and self pity.
I loved the number 1 case the most. I also love how the game is called Justice for All because it truly was Justice for All in a poetic sense
me personally I think rise from the ashes is top 3
Oddly enough my favorite case in the series is from dual destines and it's the final case [not the DLC one] about the phantom and Athenas' mother's death for me.
Turnabout For Tomorrow? It's my favorite DD case as well. It's SO SAD.
I just found your channel. I love your vids so far!
The last case from dual destinies is the best one for me!
So epic, so emotional and so mysterious!
WHERE TF IS TURNABOUT FOR TOMORROW?!?!!?!?!?
ShRules Which one is that again?
Not joking, I'm not very good at remembering case names.
The Final Case of Dual Destinies. It is actually one of the reasons I consider DD my favourite Ace Attorney game, even with the lack of forensics
WHY THE LIVING HELL DON'T YOU HAVE MORE SUBSCRIBERS? YOU PUT ACTUALLY HEART INTO IT AND PEWDIEPIE HAS LOADS OF SUBS AND HE JUST SCREAMS AT EVERYTHING!
Rant over.
Oh damn, I think I pissed off the pewdiepie fans
*pulls out shotgun*
OH GOD THIERS TOO MANY
HEEEEEELP
+ZachAttack2004 I'LL SAVE YOU, MY FRIEND!
*pulls out backburner*
AHHH
CALL REINFORCEMENTS
Guiles theme plays
YAAAAAAH
*reinforcements come in*
OH MY GOD THERE ARE TOO MANY,BUT WE WILL MAKE IT!
*pulls giant bazooka out of his pants*
I bring the light brigade!
+ZachAttack2004 Unsurprisingly, not too many of pewdiepie's childish fans are in this comment section. There are many people like this guy (Excuse my unfamiliarity with the channel ive only watched like 3 vids) with the whole "create a bunch of sprites that represent my character and talk about shit which is usually going to be my perspective on something popular" shtick, but that doesnt mean I dont appreciate the effort that goes into every channel that does this. As far as Im concerned, it's something that works extremely well, and I myself find myself liking the people behind all channels like this.
But yeah, point being, expect to get disappointed over just how many good channels out there have so little love compared to a bumbling lets player like pewdiepie. I will admit, this channel has a worryingly low amount of love for his specific genre and people who do this usually have a bit more subs.
And in pewdiepies defense, he is good at keeping his content open and being inviting to MANY types of people and personalities, kinda like a really good salesperson.
Rant(?) Over
YOU LITERALLY NAILED MY TOP 5 !!
Great Video Man! Keep up the good work! :)
I just don't enjoy Turnabout Academy that much. First of all, everyone who thinks Athena makes the case better because she's their "waifu" should be hanged. You can't slap a good character (I don't like her that much though) in a mediocre case at best and call it a great case. Second, this case has the worst Revisualization of all the cases. Literally everything but the last thing Athena thinks about is irrelevant. This just leaves you empty inside. Third, Aristotle Means is an incredibly obvious killer, I'm surprised you didn't mention this at all. He's almost as bad as Daryan Crescend with his behavior for crying out loud.
he did talk about aristotle means being an obvious killer.
well, per se
Did you know there are only 4 cases in the first game?
Well 5 if you count Rise From The Ashes ^^;
+Wambu What are you talking about? Wtf is "Rise from the Ashes"?
Franziska von Karma
It was the 5th case of the first game. it wasn't in the original GBA version of the game, but it was added into the DS version.
+Wambu Yeah I know. Just wanted to joke around.
+Wambu Nice vids by the way. Keep up the good work.
Man, very well vocalized in terms of Farewell my turnabout. I had forgotten how good that case really was!
your editing is so good
5 Turnabout sisters
4 Turnabout Countdown
3 Farewell my turnabout
2 Turnabout Trump
1 Turnabout Goodbyes
Turnabout Donald Trump. Lol. Has anyone noticed that before?
+Derp Squad
Yes. Unfortunately, yes.
+Wambu Lol. I still think it's funny.
***** I will hire someone to assassinate Trump.
If you're gonna hire someone, hire Shelly De Killer
As soon as you said one case per game it was relatively obvious which cases were going to get picked, but I didn't know the order you'd put them in. I figured you'd go 4-5-1-2-3, but to my surprise your top 2 mirrored mine (my order would be 4-1-5-3-2).
Justice For All was given to me as a gift before I had played the first game and while I enjoyed the game as a whole up to case 4, Turnabout Big Top had left an extremely sour taste in my mouth. Farewell My Turnabout turned that 180 degrees and I ended up playing everything after the 5-psyche lock sequence in one go, because I was hooked. It was also interesting to be against Edgeworth, who I knew nothing about, only for him to kick Phoenix's arse thoroughly all the way through day one.
Also, the Stolen Turnabout needs more love. It's one of the best standalone cases in the series. :-l
Great #1. Appreciate the trip down memory lane
#5, Turnabout Donald Trump
AsrielMemeurr413 Go. Now.
Delet this
FUCKING TURNABOUT ACADEMY? Jesus, I thought it was by far the worst case in the series! The friendship is magic scenes made me cringe away from my 3ds screen and turn down my volume in embarrassement.
+Klemen Kekec It's absolutely amazIng. I like it less than For Tomorrow, and that Hugh cutscene....... It's worse than the "WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOR" cutscene from Megaman, but I still fucking loved it.
+Klemen Kekec I remember a lot from it, sure the 'Friendship is Magic' thing is annoying, but I like it more than the fucking Yokai one (if I can't remember anything about it, i'm either blocking it out of my memory or it's that forgettable.)
Ultimafire1258 I liked the twist of The Monstrous Turnabout (I think that's what it was called) otherwise it was pretty bland.
Klemen Kekec What with the wrestlers? It was interesting but I still didn't really care for it.
Ultimafire1258 Yeah, the switch-up with the identities.

I would argue that case was really good. The case is similar to the case with von karma but in a way you never really expect. Firstly, its in a case where its from two years ago which means that you'd think the stakes aren't that considerably high but then it throws a curveball and shows a lot of internal conflict with the police and prosecutors. You see Miles deal with endless pressure of him being a terrible prosecutor and him questioning his position in the grand scheme of things. There is also is a lot of pressure with evidence pointing in so much directions and characters that seem more and more suspicious. Damon Gant is a really good villian who you never suspected due to his position but also his personality and overall its very interesting espeically when you piece it all together on the SL-9 incident. The only issue I have is that near the end Gant tries to pull something stupid and the revelation that Gant tried getting "insurance" that pointed with him being the murderer killed a lot of the intrigue since it was a interesting concept.
Coming back to this years later is wild, not least of all because I'm so used to seeing Wambu as a Chandelure, so the green Azumarill throws me off a bit. LOL
