Dustin, I have a question for you, I have a 2007 Duramax that I purchased brand new I see that you are pretty experience on this unit, I been having problem with the EGR I had the dealer replaced it and clean the whole system how ever I keep getting an engine light and when I run the codes it says EGR issues the dealer cannot find the problem so I need to know if I plug it would affect engine performance and if so what type of plug you recommend? I do not want to put a full delete system. Appreciate any help or comments.
Just got a ottocast and it does connect just fine but my steering wheel controls don’t work nor does the volume knob on the stock head unit. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?
Hi Dustin, I’m a new subscriber and I’m pouring over as much of your content I can as I also have a 2014 LTZ. I notice your truck has Apple Car Play. Mine doesn’t. Did you do an infotainment upgrade? Sorry I haven’t seen all of your content yet to tell if you have a video on this.
Yea there’s an upgrade you can do that replaces the radio box in the truck to add CarPlay. He has a video on it from like 5 or so years ago. Still works
Hi Dustin, good review many thank's. I have a question, if the iphone is connected trough ottocast and same time you connect with cable, for charging, what happens? keep wifi connection or is going to connect over the cable? did you tried? I mean in my Outback both USB-A available in the console connect data not only charge. Thank's in advance.
Great question! It still continues to work through the autocast and your phone will charge as normal. It is seamless, the only change you see is it shows your phone charging with a lightning bolt icon inside of your CarPlay screen.
Yes, as long as your vehicle already supports Apple CarPlay. If not you can retrofit a newer unit from a 2015-16 truck, I have a video on that as well.
It will NOT work on a 2015 Silverado I was looking for the same truck and this is what I found. Will this work for my car? ❗We would appreciate if you can note your car model on cart page.(Especially Mitsubishi cars). This will help us continuously improve the performance of our products for different car models. Only for vehicles or motorcycle that have factory wired CarPlay Support iPhones from 6 and later versions(not for Android phones) For cars with built-in wired CarPlay 2016-2022

Will this work on my stock radio? What do I need to do to make this work in my 2014 Silverado high country?
Yes, as long as your vehicle already supports Apple CarPlay. If not you can retrofit a newer unit from a 2015-16 truck, I have a video on that as well.
