Don't understand why fans are fuming. This was a good result, a blessing in disguise... had he won, Carsley likely would of got the job.

Dean Saunders is spot on. Carsley is good. England fans can't decide between attacking and defensive football.

No one was saying Southgate should play a line up like that. No-one competent at least. 2 inverting fullbacks, 3 number 10s and no striker? Yeh that sounds exactly what people criticized Southgate for....

YET AGAIN... the problem stems from trying to fit all the star players into the starting 11... Foden should not be starting, he's barely had minutes for City this season... midfield should of been Gomes - Rice - Palmer... Watkins up front and Gordon and Saka out wide. Bring Bellingham on the last 20mins... he does F-all for 60mins anyway... how hard is that?!

Playing a false 9 would massively upgrade your team. Teams are worse off if they play an outdated poacher who can only finish. Modern teams can’t afford to have one less player in the build up.
