I just passed my motorcycle safety course, and got my scooter assembled. I’m really looking forward to riding it! They’re so good on gas and insurance is super cheap!
I have Aprilia sportscity 50, it goes almost 80 km on a long downhill road, but generally it stays between 40-60 km. There's something about 50cc that's fun, if you can learn to deal with the embarrassment of slowing down traffic behind you on a single road.
I've got this same scooter. I love it to death, but it won't start. It's got a spark, carb is flowing ok, starter and battery good. Feels like good compression. Only thing I can think of is that maybe the auto-choke isn't working? Have you had any problems with yours in the last couple years?

I'm looking at a 1968 Lambretta J50 at the moment. It'll be great next year when I'm living in the city for college and fun in the summer until then. Any thoughts or advice for a newbie? I've had a car licence for nearly 3 years now but cars are so damn expensive and complicated.
For around town I love my scooter. You have to be honest about what it's for though, slower roads the better. I have a Yamaha 50F BWS (Zuma is what it's called in the USA). I'm a pretty big guy, weigh around 210 pounds, I can reliably get 60kph on the flat streets, but up hill 45kph is about average. Down hill I can pretty easily hit 70kph+. A smaller guy would probably see the more gains in the up hill speeds and easily hit 50kph. For my cities roads, the scooter is great. Any roads that might be too fast for it have back roads that are more fun to drive anyways.
Yea I'm 16 , I have a 2 stroke gillera runner it's loads of fun especially when some bikes think it's slow and I pull away from stop lights like nothing lol
