I really had an appreciation for this video! What I don’t have an appreciation for is that the invoice link is clearly a way to collect peoples names and emails to get them to sign up for your subscription which is a very dishonest tactic.

It depends how you're generating your invoice. Accounting software would do that automatically for you. But if you're using a template like this then it's more DIY

Legit. Once I clicked on the link my Samsung Android took me to Samsung Internet app where I was able to create and sign in to account. Once I was in - I was able to select an invoice add, logo, add invoice number, add address, enter part number, tax and also include a "Paid Stamp" signature. Create and edit multiple invoices All FREE!!
Good insight on google sheet. I will like to know if the invoice number will be sequential. For example, if the invoice number is 00001 and then I issued another invoice to a buyer will the inovice number automatically change to 00002?....please I need your response. Thanks

Hey Anna, thanks! I'm glad that you are finding the videos helpful. Sure thing... I find it easier to scrap the word 'purchases' and think of 'goods for resale' as 'inventory' instead. You are correct in thinking that these should be initially recorded as Assets in the Balance Sheet. When Inventory is sold, it loses its status as an Asset (since the business no longer owns it), and flows through to the Income Statement becoming Cost of Goods Sold (an Expense). I also find it confusing that the purchase account you mention is being treated as an expense account. I think some further info might be required here but I can think of two possible reasons why purchases might be treated this way... 1) Are they Cash Accounting (as supposed to Accrual Accounting)? When Cash Accounting, all purchases are recorded as expenses once cash has changed hands. 2) Alternatively, a purchase account could be used as an expense account (when Accrual Accounting) so long as the purchases do not relate to 'goods for resale/inventory'. The purchases could be for say... electricity or water bills instead. Does that help at all?

Thank you for your video. I enjoyed it. But its missing information I was hoping to find and when you touched base on it. You went straight to a free form you updated. That may be great for most. But that is not why I was here to begin with. I am looking for a video that shows basically how you added a field. Like the tax field. I would like to take this form and completely change it for my own. I want to add headers and give them a job to do. I want to move and resize the headers. I want remove some headers. I would like the form to horizontal to fit the screen in its usable space. Basically, I created a custom invoice on paper for my small Appliance Repair Business. An I am looking for a program where I can create this same form to electronic. For some reason there just isn't anything worth using as a template out there. I have such a great design. That I actually think it would be a huge hit. I just don't have the knowledge how. (frustrating) Because I am sure it can be done! There are companies that "rent" their version and sell you that it works with quick books. They say our "App" is designed for Appliance Repair. You can even access it your phone. ( I don't want my customer trying to look at an invoice on a 5 inch screen!) Then I look at it and it could be for (anything) in repair. Then they say we can Tailor it for your needs. I am not ready for that step. And to be honest. I am looking to keep my expense low. And I don't see why I can't just do it myself. I envision an invoice I can input my customers information in on the fly. Drag the invoice to a calendar for a schedule time and day. Pull it up when I arrive and show the customer on my laptop their invoice live. Easy to read. Easy to understand. Printable. Send as an email. After I collect my payment, choose paid. And drag it back to the calendar. When and if I ever need to go back to that customer. I can find them by the day, name or phone number or whatever information they may have that I saved. I even wonder if some of the fields can be customized to auto fill into other shared forms. Or I am completely wrong and this is where quick books comes in. I am not writing this comment to dis your video. It is great for most users. I guess, I am hoping that maybe you have some advice or can maybe steer me to the right direction on how to get more from the Goggle Sheets Option. Hey David, thanks for your comment and apologies for my late response. Do you have much experience with using Google Sheets? You can probably build this yourself with relative ease using that. The issue is that you aren't going to get the interaction with a calendar that you are after. If you want to track invoices more carefully then I would recommend using QuickBooks Online or another accounting solution.
