Testing standards are still lower than some countries like EuroNCAP and ANCAP. Airbags, Curtain Airbags, ABS etc should be considered for ratings.

Airbags should improve dummy impact reading and hence result in better oberall rating. If they don't improve the protection of dummies then what is the point of their existence. For ABS, EDB and other electronic safety features as well, there needs to be a testing method rather than giving points only for the feature being included.

Safety is priority but safety features are damn expensive. So you have to understand this . Both the customers and car makers . There should be a regulatory guidelines, more car company should come to India for better market analysis competition etc ... What is 5 star for us doesn't even come close to a star I other countries ...so that should be a lesson . Prices should be affordable yes but atleast make strong RND in a car before just sending it to production

Its voluntary & definately any car can score 4-5 stars easily.
Becoz every manufacter will only send their best car for test. Even MS &hyundia will send their best car in terms of safety and can easily score 5 stars. Not a big deal.
