watched in 2017 and choked up a little because i will never forget this for as long as I live. This was one of the greatest moments in my life and being able to watch this with my family and friends made it that much more special. GO Bucks! OH-
See how the Ducks (even though they got beat down and lost by a large margin) were still a Class Act and shook hands with the Buckeyes after the game? The Crimson Tide didn't do that with the Buckeyes. SEC teams lack the distinction of being called Class Acts. That's why the Buckeyes victory over the Crimson Tide earlier in the playoffs is sweeter than actually winning the Championship.
Oregon fans have always seemed good. Biggest problem for both sides is nowadays any idiot has a public platform. Usually when I come across that idiot I'm good at looking past him and viewing the fan base as a whole, which I do believe to be classier than the fan bases we're used to.
After watching this game again, I never realized just how much more physical, bigger and faster the buckeyes looked than the ducks. Imagine being plus 3 in the turnover column and losing 42-20? That’s not really a 42-20 score, that’s like a 56-7 score. This was domination and mistakes were the only thing that kept it not even that close.
Every time I see this video I see the drive this team had and how it was unstoppable. Couple that with a offensive coaching staff that understood how to call plays for CJ, in comparison to JT, and an aggressive defensive scheme, no one could've stood in our way.
This was truely a team that was on a mission to prove that they were champions. When they dont play their best game and can come together and beat the top teams what more can anyone say but what a great team effort. I was not impressed at all with oregon. We have heard so much about them and alabama that it was so much fun to see the Buckeyes win it all.
scary thing is Ohio State left 14 points on the field. This game could've been over by halftime. The final score isn't really indicative of how it was played out. Oregon had almost no chance of winning they were so over matched.
Cody King That is why people lose sense of what actually went on during past games, because they just look at the score based on how close two numbers are determines how bad they won/lost. It's not the case at all. We were 21 points better than Bama, and at least 35 points better than Oregon based on the other stats 'no one cares about'. Whatever makes people sleep at night knowing the score of the Sugar Bowl was closer than 7 or 22 in the NCG is up to them. Those same people will state one statistic, and make a generalizing claim that is completely absurd. Like autism in children is caused from vaccinations. They don't look at all the other tests and research. They are just dumber for it. Fuck 'em.
XisoLate thats not true. We werent 21 or 35 points better. Turnovers are a part of the game you cant take them away to show how good we are. If we were that good we wouldnt of turned the ball over. We won. Which in the end is the only thing that matters.
Cody King Turnovers can't be brought up on your side when score is the only thing that matters.... Are we done here, or are more illogical things going to come out?
They said we couldn't do it. We weren't the SEC. Didn't have what it takes. We rolled. We killed ducks and they still doubted. #NATIONALCHAMPIONS 2014 #UNDISPUTED #SEC WHO? #WHO DEY?
Man. The buckeyes this year in the playoffs again (2022, by happenstance) facing georgia. And we don't have no quaterback that can throw and run like 12 guage and we don't have no running back like zeke.. Or even bosa and luke on defense. Those were the days.
I remember I was so mad we loss to VTech earlier in the season, but we just kept getting better. I watched that Wisconsin game on my phone, & when it was over I was like don’t leave us out please. When we got in I knew we had this, and my God we did. Imma Texas kid born & raised, but imma diehard Buckeye!! 1st Ever College Football Playoff National Champions!! No offense to JT or Braxton, but Cardell was the guy we needed for this run
I remember the Wisconsin game, I tried all day to get that channel to come in thankfully it finally did and I remember we skunked them. Also I'm born and raised in east Tennessee, but I'm 100% Scarlett and Grey. Go Bucks.
I knew the Buckeyes were special when they fought through adversity in the MSU game going down 21-14 and about to go down 28-14 before getting a stop and then two scored to go up by 7 at half. Dominated the rest of the game.
@@snowstorm5867 2014 OSU defense was better than any that LSU faced all 2019 season. Just like we had the best defense they would've faced in 2019. Too bad we were cheated out of that matchup.
There is a play in this game that Marcus Mariota takes off and tries to get the corner on Mcmillian and Bell but has to settle for a 1 yard loss. It finally hit me that urban is a genius, he helped change college football with the spread, but he has also figured out how to stop it. Guys with speed that can tackle in space, thats how Ohio state was different than most teams Oregon sees on a yearly basis. They can recruit speed, size, and people that can tackle. Thats how you stop the monster that you create
Peanut Henry People know it but it's hard to manufacture speed as it's born in the individual for the most part. They also have to understand the spread scheme with all the options or they will be gassed and your speed is meaningless.
love how you can barely hear the crowd cheering when Oregon came out of the tunnel, but hear the stadium erupt when Ohio State comes out of their tunnel.
This game is not as close as the score might indicate. Ohio State really controlled this game. Props to Ohio State, they played their best game under Urban Meyer.
That three game stretch (Wisconsin, Alabama and Oregon) was the best three games I've ever seen a team play. Those 3 games will go down in history! Even with all the turnovers in the Bama and Oregon games they were on a mission for a National Championship!
No team to this date or in history has had to go through a tougher road to a title than Ohio State did. Not only going through a tough gauntlet of a season but facing off against the toughest final 3 opponents of any team that has won the playoff. Not to mention in successive games all 3 heisman candidates and shutting them down. Oh yea we also lost our starting QB at the beginning and end of the season and worked forward with a 3rd stringer through number 10 i wanna say wisconsin was and 1 and 2 in the nation
This team reminded me so much of the 1968 National Champions; loaded with sophomores who got better as the season went on. That 1968 team was undefeated and beat USC and Heisman winner O.J. Simpson convincingly in the Rose Bowl. I only hope this team doesn't do what the 1969 team did; they beat the hell out of everyone that year but then lost to Bo's first Michigan team in 1969. But back then there wasn't as much incentive; no team could play in the Rose Bowl in consecutive seasons back then, and that was the only bowl a Big Ten team could play, so they had no hope of playing a bowl game. If they stay hungry in 2016 they will be a handful for anyone.
StFidjnr I feel the same way against Alabama. Maybe not necessarily a 'rout' but complete domination. Our two turnovers average starting position was in our red zone, so they only needed to go 20 yards on average to score a td. They had what two long sustained drives to score points up until their last possession? The SEC fans want to say it was a close game when bringing up the score but it really wasn't.
Oregon was pretty impressive vs Florida state, I expected more out of them...but those ducks and the ability they had at the time to score in seconds had me on the edge of my seat till the 4th quarter!

west coast tricky dicky fast yoga pants football was not fast enoough nor tricky dicky enough to beat Midwestern prime sirloin muscle. Ohio State is like steel. Oregon is like mush. People in Oregon always claim that the Ducks will wear out their opponent in the 2nd half. It was Buckeyes that had completely broken down the Ducks by that point in the game. Let's put it this way: add another 60 minutes to game clock & Ohio State would've scored another 5 touchdowns while Oregon was done scoring for the night. Done as in cooked. Gone. Add another 60 minutes to the game clock & Ohio State would have just kept scoring at will.....like yet another 8 TD's as that mush of a defense gets turned into a puree. If the game were 180 minutes instead of 60 minutes the score would have been 153-20. No doubt.
Nunya....simple response here. Who cares about Oregon's better record? Ducks play inferior competition to achieve that excellent record.
