NF is definitely on his way. I think it's too early in his journey to say he's one of the greats but he'll get there. I love when an artist actually progresses, if you listen to his first album and then listen to "The Search", there's such a vast difference. Every song he does is better than the last.
NF is a solid Christian brother. That’s why his music is “clean”... but he’s solid and talks about real stuff.... the symbolism in the balloons is AMAZING... especially how he carries the theme over throughout his albums music videos.... that’s what you call a gifted genius...

I relate so heavily with NF, I haven't been diagnosed but I'm pretty sure I have mild OCD as well. when he's talking about thoughts ruminating, I believe he means the negative thoughts/doubts that he's telling "leave me alone"

You spend every moment of every day, with the worst possible scenarios of whatever you're doing running through your mind. I'll just randomly have thoughts about the potential of my Father breaking into the house and trying to kill my Grandparents (Who I live with to take care of) and having to fight him off. I have no reason to have those thoughts, it's not something that would ever happen. He's a good dude. My mind doesn't give a shit.
Canadian hockey player (I forget his name right now tbh) thought he was suicidal, because every time he drove around this one specific bend, he'd imagine himself not turning and just driving right off the cliff. Very vividly. Saw a psych about it, who told him his mind isn't suicidal.. It imagines all the worst things that could happen, because it DOESN'T want them to happen, and it obsesses over it. Hence the name OCD.

notice when he hands the balloons (his doubts) to the person dressed in white at the end? Correct me if I am wrong, but I always thought that was like him handing over his music to the listener. His music is how he releases his negative energy and personal doubts, and by releasing his music, he is handing parts of himself to us in order to lift his burden while showing us there are people we can relate to and that we are not alone. His music has given me a voice in a sense when it comes to my issues because his childhood is so much like mine. I love this guy so much and know I would not be the same without him. I think the only thing your missing is understanding the metaphors in his videos and the connection it has to everything else. There are so many layers to NF music. I have been listening to hip hop & rap since the 90’s and never seen this amount of detail and talent. My opinion is there isn’t a NF song I don’t like. I am believing whatever is coming next it has to due with the end of his song Pay My Dues, something to do with the word LOST. Whatever it is I can’t wait for more of his journey.
