This year Bama played W Kentucky, So Florida, Wisconsin & Mercer. Auburn faced Bama A&M, Cal, New Mexico & Lo Monroe. Ole Miss had it the toughest with Furman, Midd Tenn, Wake & Georgia So. The thing this host does not point out, is that the Big 12 team would be rated as better than Boise if the records were equal, or even within one. Boise is undefeated in conference play, ASU has two losses. If you look at the SEC versus ACC, Miami has one conference loss and they are generally rated better than SEC and Big 10 teams with 3. Also, can the host name one Big 12 team that could go to up to Oregon and only be a 3 point dog? No.
@@elche1976 and South Carolina, Tennessee , penn state, Indiana would be undefeated given a big 12 schedule , never really understood what the hypotheticals of how teams would fare in different conferences Helps justify any argument.
The problem is that half the Big 12 were g-5 schools within the past 10 years (Utah, TCU, UCF, Houston, BYU, Cincinnati) and the lower half of the Big 12. So, this is a perception issue.
BYU was in the same fix as Boise and Tulane 2 years ago. The physical battering of the Big 12 is real. ex: BYU got ranked as high as #6 Ok St 0-8 in conf games. In Edwards madhouse stadium. BYU had to come from behind to win at the game's end. BYU in a slugfest in Dallas beat an unbeaten so far in ACC games SMU 18-15. SMU got the great Sonny fired beating TCU 66-42. Sagarin doesn't lie always close to the money Vegas spread. So average for the season BYU has beat the spread by 14 no other team is even half that good.
Sagarin is a good power ranking I agree. I don't think it's a good replacement for actually playing games. Hypotheticals are what got us into this mess.

Watching the BYU vs NC State basketball game here!..hahaha.... anywho!!! Go K State! Beat Iowa State!!!! We need Avery Johnson to play elite more than ever tomorrow!
ASU clubs Wyoming. BYU beats Wyoming handily. Boise State squeaks by Wyoming. BYU beat SMU who is going to play in the ACC championship, BYU will miss the Big 12 championship. The committee is filled with bias. Can’t wait to see how they handle all the upsets this weekend, especially when ASU annihilated UofA.
Yeah, Boise State has history on their side on beating the Big 12 champ in the Fiesta Bowl. They even beat Georgia. That is why Boise is getting the nod over the Big 12. They are the biggest brand in the G5.
Thank you for saying what I’ve been thinking for weeks. There is no way a Mountain West team should be one of the top 4 teams to deserve a bye. The champs got SEC, Big 10, ACC and Big 12 should get the byes. Boise should be considered as a champion in the championship series at a much lower seed. As long as they are top 12 at the end of the conference championships
2:51 Can someone explain how TF he came up with 1-2? He literally says at the beginning of the video Tulane lost to Memphis 24-34, lost to K-State, and lost by double digits to Oklahoma?
What has been crazy in the Big 12 is all of the so-called top teams knocking each other off. And who finishes with the best record, the team most Big 12 experts picked to finish last in the conference. The Big 12 is a crazy, mixed up football league which is hard to figure out. Don’t blame AP writers or CFP committee members for having a tough time figuring out where to rank the top Big 12 teams.
The G6 conferences know the P4s are about to split away and have their own natty. Once UFC, Cincy, UH, and SMU joined the P4 ranks, the disparity between P4 and G6 grew even more. Unfortunately, I don't think there is any way they can all keep up in the NIL & transfer portal era. Their pot shots at the Big 12 reek of desperation.
@RAJohns They were far and away the best G5 schools over the last 20+ years, outside of Tulane and Boise. The move to expand wasn't ideal given its proximity to the next media deal but it was necessary. They all had BCS/NY6 wins. UCF sold the conf on the size of their student body/alum/viewership potential and Florida recruiting. Cincy brings Ohio recruiting, and UH provides recruiting in the Houston area... after the loss of A&M and UT (Both have massive fan bases in Houston). Not sure what to tell you about WV though.
I didn't think the p4 could be left out of the playoff. I guess if Tulane, Army or Boise were undefeated the the big-12 looked like the do this year in the W-L... it would make sense.
As a B1G fan, I'm glad to see B12 fighting for itself. Fight for your conference, then your teams go out and prove their worth on the field. I'd love to see yinz become a 3rd big conference.
I just feel like people were upset about the wrong thing. People were and are upset and panicking that the Big 12 might not get a team in the CFP. That was NEVER realistically going to happen. Didn't bother me. What bothers me about the rankings is that they are not resume based AT ALL. The committee sets up the 1-25 rankings in a way to predict what might happen next on a week to week basis but also to map out how they want the final CFP bracket to look. These current rankings are the most blatant example. Alabama 13, Ole Miss 14, South Carolina 15. What they were literally doing here was taking Alabama and Ole Miss out of the top 12 after their third losses (because they knew there would be backlash otherwise) but keeping those 3 SEC teams as the first 3 out because they really want 4 SEC teams in at minimum and if chaos happens in week 14 they need a fall back. Arizona St 16, Iowa St 18, BYU 19, Kansas St 24, Colorado 25. They literally just grouped these 5 teams in the same area for two reasons. First, they don't care if the BIg 12 champion has a high seed or not. But more importantly they don't know which two are going to the Big 12 championship yet. The funniest thing about all of it is that I can GUARANTEE, guarantee, 100% stone cold lock that after week 14 the two teams who are going to the Big 12 championship will both be ranked right around 12 in the CFP. 10-14 range. And thats what I hate. Because if the rankings were based on resume like they should be the Big 12 would already have two teams in that range. I have BYU 9, Arizona St 12, Iowa St 15 and Kansas St 19 based on resume.
@elche1976 Compare their resume against everyone else. They are 9-2 overall. They are 3-1 against bowl eligible teams. They are the only team to beat SMU (Who I have 6th) and they did it on the road. Their other two bowl eligible wins were a blowout win over 8-3 Kansas St and a win at 7-4 Baylor.. really good teams. Their bowl eligible loss was against a really good 9-2 Arizona St on the road. Now the Kansas loss does hurt a bit more. But I think we've seen enough at this point to know that Kansas is better than their record indicates and they could be bowl eligible after tomorrow. Go compare that resume to that of Tennessee and Indiana who the committee ranked 8 and 10 and nobody bats an eye. Narratives and brands blind people.
As a UCF fan it's remarkable how the G5 could not even get close to the top four previously. Now it's like they're on the same footing as the P4 conferences.
Wait, did he just say that Tulane lost to Oklahoma and Kansas St, two Big12 teams? I got news for you buddy, Oklahoma is in the SEC now. I don't know how you missed that one. I hear you saying that Oklahoma was in the Big12 but is now in the SEC, but then you follow it up saying "there's two Big12 teams" and you proceed to call Oklahoma a lower tier SEC team or middle tier Big12 team. They're not in the Big12 at all. Why do you keep connecting Oklahoma to the Big12. They're not in the Big12 anymore.
Whining again !! On the same day Boise St. just defeated another Pac12 team. Yeah, the PAC 12, who's mid tier team Arizona St. currently leads the "Big" 12 conference.
Oregon State is not the same this year. They were totally blown up when pac12 blew up. Lost coach and most of their players to P4 teams. Can't compare Beavs to Sun Devils at all!
Host does the same thing SEC fanboys do. In years their best teams are undefeated, they holler that W-L record is all that matters. In years their best teams have multiple losses, they holler that SOS should matter most. Stop whining…
Umm, dude! BYU and BSU are and have been a rivalry for the past decade plus. Wyoming and BYU? Are you kidding me? Truth is winning matters. Against your peers just damn win it! If you can't the SoS doesn't really matter as it's the day in day out schedule you gotta play. If you can't win against a team you should win and then complain about a team you aren't playing against is real whiny.
Comparing the conferences really doesn't matter. You need to be comparing the specific teams. Boise State has one loss, by three points, on the road, to the number one team in the nation. That's what I really need the best loss possible. The Big 12 champion will have at least 2 losses and is possibly as many as 4!
The committee is not embarrassed, Big 12 rates themselves too highly. ASU got spanked at home last year by Fresno St, and a year later they're trashing the Big 12. So either NIL is destroying conferences or BIG 12 "Is who we thought they are (DG)."
3-8) Georgia State and (3-9) Oklahoma State, what do they have in common?... The only P4 conference who has losses to those 2 schools...then, has subsequent conference losses to the teams who got beat by Georgia State and Oklahoma State is.... ....the SEC It just took no. 7 Georgia 38 overtimes to barely squeak by (7-5) Georgia Tech (who actually destroyed Georgia State) at home. Don't give me this "overrated" nonsense.

SEC is scared, so they are lobbing to get as many teams in as possible. They have been spending incredible amounts of money advertising the SEC on about every sports channel and games not related to a SEC game. Switzer(OU) did the same lobbing in 84 against BYU. Hecwas saying the Y didn't deserve to be #1 and OU should be. The Y had lost the first game of 83 but won the rest of the games in 83 including their bowl game and then went undefeated in 84. OU list their bowl game and he had to eat crow. The sec seems to be doing the same thing, trying to influence the committee to included more SEC teams. If the committee does this, they will lose all respect and confidence in their ability to be fair and honest.
"Egg on their face" so your thumbnail uses Batman's Egghead? ha ha ha... by the way, didn't the Big 12 list "Okie State" as their likely #3 team this season? Yes. So don't whine about mistaken ratings.
I'll be honest, I want to see ASU lose and see the big12 get left out of the playoff. Not as much as I'd like to see BSU left out of the playoff, but since that's not likely to happen, I'll settle for the Big12 getting left out.
Boisie lost to the #1 team Oregon by a field goal. The Big 12 is weak and I think Boisie could beat any Big 12 team this year. The Ducks would absolutely slaughter the Big 12 as well.
Tulane has some unlucky breaks in that Memphis game and would likely still be favored over Memphis if played again but yeah I agree BIGXII should be ranked higher

On Black Friday the Big 12 features Utah vs Central Florida while the SEC features Ole Miss vs MS St and the B1G Nebraska vs Iowa, and Minnesota vs Wisconsin
Each video headline just highlights your Little 12 delusions. If there wasn't an auto bid for conf champion the Little 12 would have no teams in the CFP
UNLV beat Kansas, and Boise State beat them. UNLV also beat another Big 12 team. You should never lose to you Kansas, Houston, Texas Tech, West Virginia, etc. The computers are wrong. The history of Boise State beating P5 teams in the Fiesta. That is why Boise State will be ahead of the Big 12's champ. The Boise State game is different when the Big 12 schools played Wyoming back in the summer, and Boise played them in the winter. Go Boise State. Beat out the sucky Big 12.
"They have a 1 game better record" argument CANNOT be made when comparing Big 12 / ACC teams to the SEC. And it CANNOT be made when comparing G5 teams to the Big 12 / ACC. There is just as big a gap between the former as the gap between the latter.
These teams that move to smaller conferences to bigger, within 5 years match and exceed. Utah & TCU are perfect examples. Utah competed in several Rose Bowl & Pac-12 championship while TCU was a national runner up. If they had the same resources, they can match. Boise state show the can match big teams like Gonzaga is in basketball. This is not the same big 12 with Texas & Oklahoma, just a colab of schools across the country.
Boise State would be the front runners in the Big 12. Houston screwed them out by stealing their spot in the Big 12. Second, CFP, Big 10, ACC and SEC were not ready to take in anymore teams which meant Oregon and Washington was not ready to be added to the Big 10. People don't like BY since he is upending college tradition in sports. He is right now trying to destroy the ACC as we speak.
@josephross7936 Boise's biggest hurdle to a P4 invite is their gimmicky smurf turf. No P4 conf is going to take them seriously until they can take themselves seriously.
@devilfrawg4953 Ingnore at your own peril, and you end up like Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl. It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog. USA over Russia in Hockey, NC State in 1983 basketball, Fresno St. In baseball. 16 seed can't beat a 1 seed. Anything is possible. Most people thought Georgia was a lock tonight. One play could've changed the result.
@Spitfirethedragon Well, we can blame the PAC president for a lot of current problems. 1. When Texas & Oklahoma left, the Pac should have negotiated with Houston, TCU, Oklahoma St. & Kansas. 3 New states & 2 major markets. 2. Taking forever to get a TV contract to get done. They should just taken the ESPN contract, knowing you can do mostly late games. They took way to long cause Colorado to leave and other dominoes to fall. We are going to need to reset the conference back to 10 teams, but have football be it's own thing, and not carry "lower value schools" like Northwestern or Vanderbilt to play every year. A promotion and relegation model.
Does the Big10 or SEC come out whining about how they are better than Boise State/MWC/tulane….nope. Sounds like the big 12 has some insecurity issues to me. The big 12 is really going to have problems when the rebuilt PAC 12 emerges, exp if they get Memphis and Tulane.
When Boise State beat Big 12's champ, Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl? People like you and BY always crap on Boise State saying the same things about SOS and all that. People have under estimate the MWC/WAC schools for years. BYU won a national title when they were in the WAC. Second, I don't trust computers on who are stronger teams. I go by eye test, and if the Big 12 champ have three or more losses? They should not have a team in the playoffs period. Army or Memphis could sneak. Wins are very important, and with Kansas loss to to UNLV by 3 and Houston loss to them by 20? Those two teams beating up your potential champ shows that Boise State is correct where they are ranked. Arizona State nearly loss to a 6-5 Texas State team and they loss to Texas Tech who loss to Washington State that Boise State manhandled. The Arizona State played Wyoming the first game of the season. Second, Boise played them in November with the attitude adjustment and with it being winter time? It is tough to play games in the cold and slippery condition on the field with snow and ice. You have to take that into consideration as well. BY would not be complaining now if Boise State was invited to the Big 12 before any of the PAC schools.
Terrible because they beat the ACC frontrunners that average over 40 points a game? Terrible because they are 2-1 against the SEC this year? Terrible because the last time the SEC played in the national title game, so did a Big 12 team? Terrible because they have 9 bowl eligible teams with 2 teams just needing to win this Saturday to have 11 bowl eligible teams? Give it a rest you all are just blue blood fan boys for overrated teams.

It isn't. Because the XII plays 9 games and the SEC only plays 8, every XII team averages an extra half loss because 8 of the XII's 16 teams will lose that ninth game. Add an extra half loss to every SEC team's record and take off half a win each for the cupcake that their league plays in week 10. SEC is a joke for being such pricks considering they have the 8-game schedule and basically have a scrimmage 3/4 of the way through the regular season while every other league is heading into the home stretch of their conference games.
@@janinebrittanica4314loses and records aren’t equal between the two. The players and teams in the SEC are much deeper and better. There is a reason a 3 lose SEC team is ranked far above the same in other conferences.
@@Boi-xc4dk you didn't address my argument. It's a helluva lot easier to post a better record when you have 8 fewer interconference games. Your claim that a 3-4 loss SEC team is better than a 1-2 loss XII team is rendered more dubious when, if you figure the 9th game, you're potentially arguing then that a 3.5-4.5 loss SEC team is better than a 1-2 loss XII team. On the flip side of that thought experiment, again, if the XII only played 8 conference games like the SEC and scheduled a cupcake in week 9, you'd be arguing that a 3-4 loss SEC team is better than, on average, a one-loss XII team. Assuming, the XII teams beat their directional-college university cupcakes in week 9 like the SEC teams do, you're saying then that an 11-1 Colorado, BYU, or K-State doesn't get in over a 9-3 or 8-4 Tennessee, Ole Miss, or Missouri? Again, it's ridiculous to argue any conference's best at-large qualifiers are better than another conference by two or three whole games, especially when the teams that's from the 'superior' league are playing a schedule say something like Tennessee v Buffalo in week 9 while the 'inferior' league is playing a game like K-State @ Colorado.

No.
Colorado, Iowa st, BYU and ASU would be 11-1 given Boise St's schedule as well.
When you best argument is a signature lose, you might be overrated.
@@elche1976 and South Carolina, Tennessee , penn state, Indiana would be undefeated given a big 12 schedule , never really understood what the hypotheticals of how teams would fare in different conferences Helps justify any argument.

The SEC wants to pick a fight as they think all 16 teams should make the playoffs. And the Big 12 is in their way
I’m with the Big12! Fight the power!! Fight Fight Fight
The computer is right SEC AND BIG 12
In terms of average team most certainly, but Oregon and ohio state are clearly better than the top schools in the big12.
Just let Lane Kiffin run his mouth and the Big 12 is gold.
I don't see any SEC teams that are unbeatable I think the Big 12 Football teams can beat several of those SEC teams this year
The problem is that half the Big 12 were g-5 schools within the past 10 years (Utah, TCU, UCF, Houston, BYU, Cincinnati) and the lower half of the Big 12.
Hey John.... been a follower of yours for a bit. BYU & ASU (Born in Provo, grew up in Tempe) fan here. Sitting in Bourbon & Baker downtown Manhatton at this very minute!
There should be no committee. Get the subjectivity out.
You gotta fight for your right to PARTY in the CFP!
Tulane ALSO beat USC in 2022
Yeah, Boise State has history on their side on beating the Big 12 champ in the Fiesta Bowl. They even beat Georgia. That is why Boise is getting the nod over the Big 12. They are the biggest brand in the G5.
I feel like sports betting has a lot to do with this
Thank you for saying what I’ve been thinking for weeks.
Then complain to the P4 commissioners who drove the 12-team playoff structure. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.
UFC, Cincy should have never been invited to the Big 12. UH only because of proximity to the rest. WV should be told to take a hike.
@@devilfrawg4953 I don’t believe those schools would have been invited to the Big 12 if they had known the PAC 12 was going to break up.
@RAJohns We'll never know.
Thank you for your content, I enjoy your point of view.
Oh, and BYU also beat SMU (currently sitting at AP #9 and atop the ACC) on the road.
If the Big 12 is so bad, how come a Big 12 team (Texas) is about to win the SEC in its first season?
After having some games down to the wire throughout last season haha. Team hasn't changed that much
According to Sankey and the BIG and SEC, there are G7 conferences and only two P2.
Byu 9th after back to back losses, one to ASU? Interesting.
@jkh2180 oh I agree with your last statement 100%.
Great points about the lie of resume from the committee.
I love the B12, but they will go winless in the CFP, like always. You really do come across as a G5(6) hater.
As a UCF fan it's remarkable how the G5 could not even get close to the top four previously. Now it's like they're on the same footing as the P4 conferences.
Not remarkable when you bake in transfer portal, NIL, and a 12 team playoff.
What's up with a video ad 90 seconds into the video? That drives me crazy.
Hypotheticals crack me up!

Do we know who these committee members even are?
Kansas did to the big 12 what Stanford and Cal used to do to the the Pac-12 and ruin their bowl chances
SEC is just going through trauma because they know the SEC is down and they can't fathom that they are not the dominant FB conference anymore
Lucky Tulane lost.... At least you don't have to worry about getting in.
With the CFBPO committees narrative is its all about the hypothetical
Going to have to beat a SEC team in the playoff and to get respect.
The only P4 conference who has losses to those 2 schools...then, has subsequent conference losses to the teams who got beat by Georgia State and Oklahoma State is....
....the SEC
It just took no. 7 Georgia 38 overtimes to barely squeak by (7-5) Georgia Tech (who actually destroyed Georgia State) at home.
Don't give me this "overrated" nonsense.
If Boise didn’t have Jeanty/ a polarizing Heisman candidate, they wouldn’t have a playoff spot. He’s carrying what their resume isn’t
You can say that about a lot of teams. It’s a stupid statement
Exactly! Tater state's ranking is a participation prize for having a heisman candidate.
Most of the rest of us are old enough to remember Ricky Williams winning it on an unranked Texas team.
@@devilfrawg4953 It's not to say Jeanty doesn't deserve it. What he's doing will absolutely go down in the history books, but they do not deserve a 4 seed
Byu was better off independent
The Big 12 will get in exactly one team. Why is that a reason to celebrate? Because the league is only inferior to one G5 team?
So freaking glad Tulane lost!!!
Tulane SOS #64, Boise St. SOS #70
That "terrible" Wyoming team u rail about just won at Washington St. .

I am a sad Wyoming fan. The Pokes are very bad.
Oh Johnny…such a BSU hater.

Three words for the people that keep bringing up that delusional notion "GRANT OF RIGHTS".
The Big 12 is closer to the American and Mountain West than it is to the SEC and Big 10. I hate to say it but there is just too much of a a gap in talent. 3 or 4 lose SEC teams = 1 or 2 lose Big 12 teams.
@ lol, they aren’t on an even playing field. The SEC has all the best players by a big margin and win all the championships…16 of the last 24 National Championships. Sure, a Big 13 team can always pull off an upset here and there but can’t consistently play with the big boys. Oklahoma dominated the Big 12 for years and now they have found out how difficult it is to play an SEC schedule…
