Jordan: "When you see people that actually look relaxed, it's probably because they forgot something that's due tomorrow." Me: "Oh no I have to do math!!!!!!"
You have NO IDEA how much I related to most of this video! XD I just finished my second year of University, and for the past 2 months I've been in a suspended state of panic like "Okay, I have a response paper due Monday, a Psych midterm Tuesday, a French midterm on Wednesday, an essay AND a research paper due Thursday, and Friday, I get to start all over again for the same workload next week!" They're SO right about everything they said, it's the same thing in University.
After asking me how I liked attending our local college, my dentist asked me if I had "met Mr. Right yet." Completely oblivious, I said, "Mr. Right? I don't think so. Does he teach at [my college]?"
"College students walk around in a constant state of anxiety and pain. If they're ever relaxed, it's probably because they've forgotten about an assignment due the next day."
"girls at college travel in packs" Yes, yes we do :D it's safer that way. It's a good way to make sure that none of your single friends leave the single pack ;)
Side note: It's okay to be that girl sitting under a tree by yourself! I AM that girl most of the time and I enjoy it! I love finding quiet places out in nature to think, pray, and study..... and it's NOT about looking lonely to draw attention to yourself, although some people may do it for that reason.
The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster! It's my favorite book of all time, and either the Taylors haven't read it or they've forgotten about it, otherwise it _would've_ been an Audible audiobook of the week already. ^_^
If I may offer a suggestion, listen to Iqbal by Francesco D'Adamo. It's a very short book, but a brilliant read about child slavery in Pakistan, and true story about Iqbal Masih, one boy who freed hundreds of slaves and made a real difference by bringing awareness to Child Labor in Pakistan. I didn't think I'd like it at first, but it was one of the best short novels I've read in a long time. I highly recommend it :)
... Wait a second, I just saw you on Gamexplain's channel. Well, hi again! On the subject of this, though, I really need to try out Audible. Is it good?
I am about to finish my first semester of college and I have to say so far I've enjoyed it! Wait, I have finals tomorrow...and I haven't studied...I'M DOOOOOOOMED
My roommate is a collage girl who likes to sit under trees and read. But really wants to be alone, so if you do see a girl sitting under a tree, who you think looks lonely, leave her alone. She is probably stressed out and wants the quiet. Also, I see more girls who travel alone then in packs, but that could just be my collage.
I just moved out of dorm yesterday after my first year of college. We did play ultimate frisbee now and then, when it was still warm (it's canada after all) and before all the assignments started piling up. People other than first years played too, though. I expect I will too when I return this fall. Our year end party was so weird. It's a Christian college, so there was no alcohol, but one of the students was a dj, so there was a lot of dubstep raving going on. I hurt my neck. We also did a lot of crazy stuff around a bonfire. I will be uploading all the footage I got of it on my channel by the end of tomorrow. There was a Roman candle firework war, exploding office chair, and other fire related shenanigans.
Well, I *did* sit alone under a tree now and then. But didn't get approached by the future love of my life. Oh wells, now I know I didn't want that anyway, cause I can travel without relationship obligations. :D
I so badly wanted to take a gap year, but everyone I told that to pressured me into going to college immediately after high school. I ended up only going for a year anyway but now I wish even more that I had waited because I miss studying and going to classes and all that stuff. xD
I can't say for sure, but I would assume that a gap year isn't as good of a choice if you are getting scholarships lined up. If the scholarships you can get don't change much by taking a gap year, then it shouldn't be a big deal, but a lot of times, college can be significantly cheaper by going directly out of high school.
Yay blooper at the end! Congrats on the grad Jordan! And being a Junior in college, I can relate to this 100% (except for maybe the debt part because that's one thing I'm trying very hard to avoid...). :)
I have a bachelor's in digital arts, and due to the competition in my field, it's nigh impossible to break into it. So I'm trying freelance. But I totally hear you on the frustration over the school loans.
Lmao that sounds like somethings nature documentary would say. Narrator: the females are alone whilst the males travel in groups in order to show strength and power
Super true! I'm a year away from graduating college and i cannot agree more. Everyone says '' oh you might meet you future husband/wife'' or '' oh you will be so happy after graduating and start making lots of money!'' but it is not true. Like Jordan said, students walk around in suspended state of panic. Life gets more than full with all the school work and other responsibilities you have to fulfil. Everyone needs to prioritize what is important and whats not. If you haven't been to college yet, you'll be surprised at how much energy it takes to run a house on your own, study and possibly work. Not to remind you, you wanna have time to share with friends too because thats also important. I guess everyone needs a good balance of ''study'' ''work'' and '' fun''... find what works for you ^^
I actually know people who came to my college ONLY to find their future husband......... seriously! Include that in another vid because that is pretty stupid
I don't know why, but Kelli's "what..?" at the end when Josh talks about Kelli walking down the aisle, just...epic. Don't ask me why..but that was just priceless.
One of my favorite places to study is under a tree on my campus and I'm generally by myself when studying there. But, a lot of this video is spot on, or at least what pertain to those who are not graduating.
#3 is so true. I think the amount of stress I put on myself the past two semesters affected me so much that I got sick more often and became more dependent on caffeine than ever before. #collegelife
10yrs later I am still glad I have the job I have, Just wish I could go back and learn more. I am blessed, college was never about "got to get an education to make money" or "party time" it was I want this job, this is what I need to do to further my skills in this field.
One thing I learn before I am off to Collage is this. Take a degree employers want or a degree which would absoloutly further your career like a degree in nursing if you want to be a nurse or a degree in law if you want to be lawyer. Avoid any other useless, fancy sounding, expensive degree, you would regret when you enter the job market.
4th year mechanical engineer, can confirm: The only times I've played ultimate frisbee on campus is late at night like at 10PM because that's the only available time.
I know college is a privilege, especially because people in other countries have no access, but then in some other countries they have more access than I do. The cost of college makes me avoid so many classes, because I have to hurry up and finish. I can't take winter/summer classes because I use so much financial aid already in the fall/spring. It's tough when your parents can't help you. Most people have to pitch in, but some of us are completely on our own.
OH MY FREAKING GOSH, Jordan!!!!!! You are absolutely amazing! I love your channel. I am so happy I found this video, 'cause I'm leaving for college soon. By the way, will you make more "Jordan's Messyges" videos?
Man, feeling for you with Leeland there. Dogs are hard to get over, BELIEVE ME! Also, since I already plan to go into animation after getting my proper degrees and whatnot, I'll already know what classes to take once I'm out of high school!
I loved the stressing about assignments all the time comment. Very, very true. And the comment about drunk idiots is just hilarious. I'm in education which seems to get a lot of people in who just have no idea what they're doing with their life and don't even really want to be a teacher and substitute with getting drunk all the time. No kidding, three times in a meeting for a group assignment there were people who weren't showing up b/c of alcohol poisoning...
I'm in college. The truth is that I go to college because I wouldn't know what to do with my life if I wasn't in college. College seemed to be like the natural step for me in life
If I were in college, I would be the girl sitting under the tree. The guy that approached me would probably receive a textbook squarely in the face, though.
"When you see people that actually look relaxed, it's probably because they forgot something thats due tomorrow." hahahaha thats so funn.... wait a second... i just rememberd 0-o *I HAVE A PAPER DUE TOMAROW!!!!!!!!*
I love this soooooo much. Glad I'm not the only one! :) I do need to constantly treat my experience as a privilege instead of constantly having a stressed, bad attitude. oh, the joys of college!
The reason that college and relationships became synonymous was because way back when when our grandparents or great grandparents were our age, the women were sent to college to look for a man of worthy education which meant later wealth and well being.
If I'm sitting alone under a tree it's because I want some quiet time with a little bit of background noise. I'm also just trying to enjoy the nice weather that rarely happens in NC
Wow, the first one is very true. At 18, I had my whole life planned out because I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life and how I was going to do it. Little did I know that once I got into the career field I so dreamed of going into I would hate it. Five years after graduating, I was doing something completely different from my major and I was so much happier. Its too bad that a knucklehead 18 year old has to make decisions that will affect the course of his life, listen to your parents' advice.
TheAryn0306 No, you should still go to college. I wouldn't have gotten the job I have know without a degree. Just major in either Business, Computer Science, or Engineering. There's no reason to major in anything else, unless you're pre-med or pre-law.
I don't listen to my parents advice. It's so impulsive and rushed. The moment I got out of high school they were pressuring me to go into college. I had no clue what I was going to do, I only had a foggy idea on what I wanted to major in. I was unemployed so I had no money and I refuse to go into a huge debt ( a result of living with my parents as well since they are bad with money) I plan on going to college on day but that is being put on hold till everything straightens out.
Clutch Cargo i know, but my original plan was to go to college straight away with a profession I chose at 13. Not one of my brightest moments.... I'll take a year off to find out more amazing jobs that are cool 😊
as a college student i can speak to being in a perpetual state of panic. I've got three finals and two final presentations within the next two weeks and i'm internally panicking all the time.
A lot of these myths can be solved by going to community college first and then transferring to a university/state college. You save thousands of dollars, get more time to find out what you really want to study all while getting rid of general education classes.
i'm almost two decades old and i delayed college for a while because i didn't know what to do and i'm planning on starting next year but i still don't know what to do but it's nice to know i'm not alone in this feeling okay why am i posting this online
Jordan: "When you see people that actually look relaxed, it's probably because they forgot something that's due tomorrow." Me: "Oh no I have to do math!!!!!!"
Exactly 100%true
so true I am only here because im runing from my impending doom that is math homework.
"When you see people that actually look relaxed, it's probably because they forgot something thats due tomorrow." Oh my gosh, this cracked me up.
But it's so true though. :( I know this happened to me.
I sit alone under trees, at my college :)
the video I watched before this was one of yours.... :)
kellie anderson Haha, it's like their videos are intertwined- I did that too! (Only I watched BC before LA)
=P
do you watch the shaytards? I think you would like them :)
I did but I got too sidetracked with school.:)
i just remembered i have an essay due soon...thanks
7 years later... did you even get it submitted? LOL
That third bit, though. It's so true. 'A suspended state of panic.' o-o
You have NO IDEA how much I related to most of this video! Haha that's a great story! I'm totally going to use that line the next time someone asks me that question :)
"College students walk around in a constant state of anxiety and pain. If they're ever relaxed, it's probably because they've forgotten about an assignment due the next day."
In one of my college class, a student once said, "Education is not just about the prepation of life, but education is the life itself."
It's a quote from John Dewy.
Ruan Coetzee Thank you!
"girls at college travel in packs"
Yes, yes we do :D it's safer that way. It's a good way to make sure that none of your single friends leave the single pack ;)
+adogownsmyheart also if someone creepy comes up to you, you have like at least 3 body guards.
Side note:
It's okay to be that girl sitting under a tree by yourself! I AM that girl most of the time and I enjoy it! I love finding quiet places out in nature to think, pray, and study..... and it's NOT about looking lonely to draw attention to yourself, although some people may do it for that reason.
"Now you can afford more alcohol! You're welcome! Idiot."
no wait what am i going to listen to on audible this week?! D:
You are the same guy who commented on that PWR video. Small world.
The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster! It's my favorite book of all time, and either the Taylors haven't read it or they've forgotten about it, otherwise it _would've_ been an Audible audiobook of the week already. ^_^

Well, hi again!
On the subject of this, though, I really need to try out Audible. Is it good?
Ohhh, I see. Well, that's something the both of us should try one day.
Good joke, though!
I am about to finish my first semester of college and I have to say so far I've enjoyed it! Wait, I have finals tomorrow...and I haven't studied...I'M DOOOOOOOMED
Study rn rn rn
Can we have a moment of silence for the guy that didn't study for his midterm?
My roommate is a collage girl who likes to sit under trees and read. But really wants to be alone, so if you do see a girl sitting under a tree, who you think looks lonely, leave her alone. Any Messy Mondays episode with Yolo in the thumbnail is sure to be a hit.
I so badly wanted to take a gap year, but everyone I told that to pressured me into going to college immediately after high school. I ended up only going for a year anyway but now I wish even more that I had waited because I miss studying and going to classes and all that stuff. xD
Good to know. I'll be sure to stand my ground on that issue when the time comes.
I can't say for sure, but I would assume that a gap year isn't as good of a choice if you are getting scholarships lined up. Haha, I don't think any of this lol. I always thought college would be like school but worse😂
Actually at my college, the girls sit alone under trees and boys travel in packs....
+Rebecca Hager yees~!!
yeh kind of
Lmao that sounds like somethings nature documentary would say. Narrator: the females are alone whilst the males travel in groups in order to show strength and power
THIS FAMILY IS SO FUNNY PLEASE ADOPT ME
I COULDN'T AGREE MORE WITH THAT STATEMENT! XD
Rest in peace Leeland 😿
I'm keeping this video in my back pocket for when people ask me why I'm not going to college (for now).
Super true! I'm a year away from graduating college and i cannot agree more. college is fun though. especially when the teachers skip class to go fishing. lol that was hilarious.
Yes! New sponsor, no more audible commercials!?
And yes. I watched this after a 3 hour homework session.
One of my favorite places to study is under a tree on my campus and I'm generally by myself when studying there.
But, a lot of this video is spot on, or at least what pertain to those who are not graduating.
Number 3 is so true I cannot tell you how many times I've relaxed and realized later I had missed something I had to turn in.
"You're doing it wrong."
YES!!! I had missed that phrase being used in these videos! :D
#3 is so true. I think the amount of stress I put on myself the past two semesters affected me so much that I got sick more often and became more dependent on caffeine than ever before. #collegelife
Rest In Peace Leeland :(
You guys are awesome!!! And this made my day a LOT better! So thanks for being awesome!
Sorry about Leeland. I know how hard that is. I had to put down my dog on Easter.
"College kids walk around in a suspended state of panic!" I definatly can agree with that.
Very appropriate that I got this notification while cramming in homework past midnight. Oh college, oh college. Wonderful video, Blimey Cow!
Thank you for bringing back all those characters I thought you forgot.
It's true! Especially the forgetting part...
I really enjoy watching your videos! They have great tips and your quirkyness is cool!
10yrs later I am still glad I have the job I have, Just wish I could go back and learn more. I am blessed, college was never about "got to get an education to make money" or "party time" it was I want this job, this is what I need to do to further my skills in this field.

This one was really funny. I think "suspended state of panic" was the most poignant. hahaha I also enjoyed the old man laugh, "hehaw hehaw"
4th year mechanical engineer, can confirm: The only times I've played ultimate frisbee on campus is late at night like at 10PM because that's the only available time.
I took 6 years off between high-school and college! In the meantime, I just worked and researched. Best decision I ever made!
I know college is a privilege, especially because people in other countries have no access, but then in some other countries they have more access than I do. The cost of college makes me avoid so many classes, because I have to hurry up and finish. I can't take winter/summer classes because I use so much financial aid already in the fall/spring. i will NEVER understand why America charges students such high tuition.
Look at international student fees. XDXDXD
OH MY FREAKING GOSH, Jordan!!!!!! You are absolutely amazing! I love your channel. I am so happy I found this video, 'cause I'm leaving for college soon. By the way, will you make more "Jordan's Messyges" videos?
I pretty much am always under trees when it's nice outside...that may be because I own a hammock but that's besides the point.
This group never stops making me laugh with them!
I'm going to college after summer, thanks for this to clear up some myths!
I'm really sorry to hear about Leeland :( Some dogs are such great friends
You've done it again. The video is underway haha. I always get so excited Mondays. :) ..even though it's still Sunday haha.
I'm in college. The truth is that I go to college because I wouldn't know what to do with my life if I wasn't in college. College seemed to be like the natural step for me in life
What's funny is that many guys find their soul mate in Bible college. Hehehe
I never thought any of these things about college.
this may be my favorite Blimey Cow episode
Leeland's gone?! Aww...... :'(
Lol I'm currently using this to avoid studying for finals! #collegelife
I like Kelli's way of dealing with obnoxious college boys.... ;)
If I were in college, I would be the girl sitting under the tree. The guy that approached me would probably receive a textbook squarely in the face, though.
"When you see people that actually look relaxed, it's probably because they forgot something thats due tomorrow."
hahahaha thats so funn.... wait a second... i just rememberd 0-o
*I HAVE A PAPER DUE TOMAROW!!!!!!!!*
I sat alone under a tree yesterday.... Also ring before spring is a thing lol
3:04 Hee haw, hee haw XD
I love this soooooo much. Glad I'm not the only one! :) I do need to constantly treat my experience as a privilege instead of constantly having a stressed, bad attitude. oh, the joys of college!
Wait... Blimey Cow being sponsored by something that isn't Audible?
IMPOSSIBLE!
or Lootcrate.
So much truth in this. I'm about to finish my final year of University and it's not at all like I thought it was, but it's still amazing. :)
hahahaha i played frisbee on campus as a freshman xD
Lol, this is absolutely true ! And that part where jordan aproached those girls..haha.
Hahaha I'm a girl and I don't travel in a pack, I just sit by myself and wait for class to start
This video can also apply to those junior high kids before they reach high school.
The reason that college and relationships became synonymous was because way back when when our grandparents or great grandparents were our age, the women were sent to college to look for a man of worthy education which meant later wealth and well being.
"In real life, girls in college don't sit alone under trees" hehe, I've been breakin the norm to study under my favorite tree :D I love these videos!
Did anyone else notice number three and number two were switched up? Regardless, ALL OF THE THINGS. Way to be spot on, Blimeycow.
THIS. This be the best.
"Idiot."
These are so true. Especially the suspended state of panic bit . . . finals are next week . . . going to go cry now . . .
Being a junior in high school and the year ending in a couple months... this helps
As my friend Stephanie says... "Due tomorrow... ohh yeah, DO tomorrow." Lol :)
Having graduated college 3 years ago, I can say that these are 100 percent accurate!!! Great video!
This is so accurate it's painful.
Dang, this hits differently now that I'm actually *in* college. I honestly do walk around in a suspended state of panic. 😂
You just saved me thousands of dollars.
This speaks to me on a personal level; I'm graduating from college, too.
I like your "Fun Fact" dinging sound. :P
I still think that "ehh, if I don't get a girlfriend in high school, college will be the next chance, right?"
A lot of these myths can be solved by going to community college first and then transferring to a university/state college. You save thousands of dollars, get more time to find out what you really want to study all while getting rid of general education classes.
3:43 R.I.P. Leeland.
I can see myself reading while sitting under a tree, but you definitely don't want to bother me when I'm doing that lol.
I am going to collage this autumn...fuuuuuuuuck...
Now I feel so lost...
What type of pictures? Or maybe songs? I love making collages, they're really fun!
ahahaha...damn English...oh no,it is not about English....someone here is just a fuck up)))
Same sis :( I advice making friends as you step in college, but you're a girl that should be easy :P
Xgil2Play Yeah.really good advice, thanks, sis)!Should be easy for me cuz I am a girl....ahaha...so,I were a boy I could have more complications XD?
***** Who do you wanna be?
i'm almost two decades old and i delayed college for a while because i didn't know what to do and i'm planning on starting next year but i still don't know what to do but it's nice to know i'm not alone in this feeling okay why am i posting this online
I'm a junior in high school and as of recently, I really don't want to go to college. I don't want to be apart of the system... You know?
