    Scott Kingerys just felt good with Acuna dropping it thinking he had robbed a home run

    To any Phillies fan: I'll have to admit - growing up in LA (Vin Scully, Chick Hearn, Bob Miller), nothing gets me more hype than hearing Harry Kalas RIGHTFULLY call some of these moments, and getting to call the Phillies World Series win in 2008. That still gives me chills.

    • @jimschwandt8089
      @jimschwandt8089 4 роки тому

      We're both lucky, in that we managed to hear two of the all-time best in Vin Scully and Harry Kalas call our games for so many years. After listening to some other play-by-play announcers, I sometimes wonder if we were spoiled by having it so good.

    • @65byteme
      @65byteme Рік тому

      There were/are a few voices I'll treasure until I die and Vin Scully and Harry Kalas are two of them. John Madden, Keith Jackson and Doc Emrick also come to mind. Jon Miller is easy on the ears as was Joe Morgan. Great team. Never cared for chick Hearn
      Of course there are some I wish I'd never heard such as Jack Edwards, (Bruins), mostly cause he's dumb as shit but combine that with his New England accent, 🤮. Rick Jeanneret, (Sabres), also comes to mind. Not as dumb as Kennedy but oh such a high pitched shrill of a homer. Oh! And Beth Mowins. Just go away. Don't care how smart you think you are, you're not and your voice is horrible to listen to.
      Add Doris Burke too. Another horrible voice ruining basketball for me.

    Wow!! The Phillies have played a major role in the memories of my life n I was so excited to see Shane's ITPHR vs. Padres at Petco.
    My youngest Son (he was only 3 at the time), my niece Vicky n I flew out to visit my Oldest Son n his Family for the series. Watching Shane round the bases brought back all of the Fantastic times we had over the Weekend.
    Seeing the other ITPHR,s n remembering a lot of them is what baseball has been to my Family n so many others. Great Family Memories wrapped around our Favorite teams.
    Here's hoping that the greed doesn't take that away from our Grandchildren.

    Lmao I remember laughing at Harper for how he fielded and fell during the one Rollins homer. Not knowing he’d be a Phillie in the future 😂

    • @steveswangler6373
      @steveswangler6373 4 роки тому

      i laughed at the nats when harper was there and being mediocre(at best) for all but one season. now i cry knowing i'm stuck watching the most overrated player in history for the next dozen years. there is a reason no other team was stupid enough to offer him more than 5 years and that was conditional. there was a reason his own nationals didnt fight to keep him. big spenders Red Sox and Yankees didnt even sniff at him. Klentak and Middleton promised to be stupid between the 2018 and 2019 seasons and couldnt have been more so.
      there's a reason Dodger fans (in our own park) and Tiger fans chanted "overrated"-- because harper is.
      take a look at harper's first season with us. people complained when Howard struck out as much as harper did. yet Howard hit for a higher average in his prime, more homers and came through when we needed him. harper? besides his extra inning grand slam, how long do you have to think to come up with another big hit?
      how about how many times he got thrown out on the bases because of stupid baserunning? name another "great player" being thrown out on the bases half as often as harper?
      the Phillies have lowered fan expectations so much since our glorious run a decade ago, that we now cheer a player that hits for an embarrassingly low average, strikes out tons, especially when a hit is needed, didnt start hitting homeruns until the Phillies were fading, and is a terrible baserunner.

      35 home runs last year. He did better in 2019 then he did in 2018

    • @phillyphan1994
      @phillyphan1994 4 роки тому

      Steve Swangler Steve Swangler 😂😂😂 Then just stop being a Phillies fan if that’s how you feel. No one will miss your pessimism. Who the hell cares how dodgers and tigers fans feel about Harper?! Also, His grand slam was in the ninth first off. He also had a huge walk-off hit against the Dodgers. He had a big game-tying home run in LA early in the season. The man batted .357 with runners in scoring position. Which is EXTREMELY good and one of the best in baseball (if not THE best) despite just batting .260 overall. Yes, he struck out a ton especially during one specific stretch. Yes, he can get more consistent. I tend to love his aggressive base running which was sometimes ill-advised, but most of the time wasn’t. He was also better than expected in right field. He did just fine in his first year in Philly and there’s reason to he optimistic moving forward. But sure. Be all Negadelphia about it and choose to be miserable watching an exciting player.

    I don't know if you can call them errors exactly but there were certainly 2 or 3 misplays.
    The ball looks catchable and I think he got spoked by the wall. I give him credit for trying. But this is a playoff game, so the smarter play may have been to try to play it off the wall. And lastly, where was the right fielder? Was he on a bathroom break? He should also have been running right at the ball to back up his teammate precisely because of what happened.

    Wish we had Utley’s in the Parker on last day of 2005 season. I believe he hit a line drive to deep left center and took a crazy ricochet past center fielder. He went in hard at the plate. Anybody remember that one? I can still see him walking to dugout wearing a Red Cross helmet in remembrance of the hurricane that year.

    The opposing team had to be pretty bad, for Bobby Abreu to get an inside the park homerun! As much as I can remember, he wasn't to fast. Maybe he was early in his career.

    • @outtaherephils

      He got a little heavy later in his career, but Abreu stole at least 20 bases in all but one of his seasons with the Phils (and in that season, he stole 19). Plus he led the league in triples in '99
