All of the little details like maintenance down the road and planning especially on the lake play a huge role when building these boats helps and is key!! Great job, its looking great!!
Great video and I love the thought process. I get robbed at times for over thinking stuff but this is exactly why I do it. You won’t know unless you analyze and look for problems.
I agree. While my approach may be slower than just "slapping it together," it will result in a more reliable and aesthetically pleasing outcome with fewer problems down the road. When you factor in the years of trouble-free use and minimal maintenance, it’s actually a more efficient process overall. I’m just investing the time and effort upfront. ~ Nick
I had a Nordic jet boat. Bbc, 871 custome efi and bug catcher. Tons of polished aluminum. Any lake water that splashes up has minerals in it that leave spots. I always was chasing the spots with aluminum polish after every visit out on the water. I have been following this whole build. Great job for the tools you have on hand.
Thanks! Your Nordic must have been badass! I have been considering coating the polished items with either Shark Hide or Cerakoate to help preserve the polish and prevent the water spots as you mentioned. ~ NIck
@@tjs_welding_and_fabrication I just checked it out! One bad ass Nordic! From the looks of your channel, you might be able to assist me with a small side project for my build here. Keep an eye out for a message on IG. ~ Nick
Awesome vids been following the build, a small tad bit bit of advice is put a pressure gauge on the front of of the intake to verify water pressure once you get it out into the water, a good pump will put more pressure than the relief valve can handle . I ended up with a gate valve in place of the pressure relief to regulate the amount of water pressure in the motor, however a 10$ gauge is good fail safe. IMO
Excellent work as usual!. No idea how you could have done it better? Different maybe??? When I feel a strange disturbance in the force Ill know your on the water!!!!
I want to run my alternator right where you have yours, but i dont have the plate mount that you're using. Do they make a mount without the alternator mounting to the engine mount?
Call up some one like the company CP PERFORMANCE, they'll get ya set up- or ya may have to use some ingenuity and build a nice looking piece for these older boats. I do alot of similar that this guy is doing because of the lack of parts, age, and multiple combination setups.....jet vs i/o vs v- drive👍👍👍
Absolutely gorgeous work!....remind me to never lift my engine cover when/if I get my jet (fishing boat) in the water near you 😅. Oh yeah I wouldn't have changed a thing. If you get a chance can I talk you out of the alternator part number?

What did you guys think of my solutions to the fitment issues? Anything that you would have done differently?

It’s all in the details. The boat is looking fantastic!
Nick, great video.
Thank you for taking the time to share the build with us.

I hear you! A pressure gauge for the engine water is in the plans already!

Another awesome video! That thing is going to be so nice when it's done!
🙏 Thank you!

it is Summer, get that boat in a water!!!! This speed you will still be "building' this damn boat next Winter????? OMG......

Run a google search for "BBC LH low alt mount" or something along those lines and you will find plenty of options for mounting brackets.
