Trying something new with the video and with the song, first time ever writing for a big jazz band and the first time I've recorded what it looks like in FL Studio while I write music.
I am writing another big band piece, it's almost done. Subscribe if you would like to be notified when it comes out.
dude this song is insane! Great composition
lets goooooooooo
What's your profession if this is a hobby??? 💀💀
@@matiasnicolas9181 my profession is called still being in high school
what sample library you using bro?
That sounds extremely good for a full digital production. Big up for this piece.
I especially love the bass+piano combination, even though it could use a little bit more of some embelishments
Great job!!
There’s a digital/electronic musician named Tanger who gets extremely realistic sounding sounds out of daws. Don’t under estimate the power of digital production.
@@Shin3y well tbf it's so much harder to do it in a DAW so hearing something that you know is a lot of work is surprising
a pretty solidly large amount of hollywood scores are in the box now
@@traumablonde Yes,
but I mean trillion dollar studio VS a youtuber.
@@pizzazemle6262 what does that even matter lmao it's the same digital tools, the only difference is a treated room and possibly 11.2.4 surround sound for atmos. a stereo mix needs none of that and the best headphones to mix on are like $200. Like I have a full home studio with 7.1 and I still use my hd6xx and hd598, and just check with reference tracks and my full setup. You can learn everything a studio hired artist has off youtube and you know most big studios are not hiring the composer to fly in and work there anymore right? a lot of it is work from home, even the voice talents unless it's BIG budget work from home fairly often now.
Not to mention these dudes cut their teeth on t.v. shows, where youre sometimes getting the hour long episode and doing a full comp in like a week.
or the fact 99% of people who work composing for film and t.v. are not working for "trillion dollar studios" lmao, which aren't even a thing but for the purpose of the argument it's like ten people at the highest level and they do a handful of films a year, like three maybe. the dudes using full orchestration are exceedingly rare and dwindling as time goes on
Oh wow this was great. As a musician who struggles to make good horns in go studio, seeing your approach is super interesting. This piece is soooo tasty! I am curious also about the mixing and effects you’re putting on the horns. The bright ones especially pop so naturally. This track is an inspiration!
I really want to know how to make the horn sound that good in Go Studio.
@@BVK. i watched a video of Adam Neely where he says that horn instruments should have some kind of saturation on it in the mix
@@chukarec What type of saturation to be precise?
@@BVK. if you got vst for horns, like the kontakt ones, add saturation after the plugin, like FabFilter Saturn
@@chukarec That simple?!?! THANKS!
Finally, some of the good stuff! I love jazz and it's great to see someone make swing in a big jazz band format showcasing the midi files. I'll be looking out for you now~
This inspired me to make my own jazz song :)
me too.
The tempo modulation here is a really nice touch!!
this reminds me of "snake skin boots" from call of duty black ops 3, i love this so much!
Woa, the arrangement here is REALLY good. The alternation, repetition, the interesting chords... it's all there! Can't believe I didnt find your channel earlier lol
holy moly this is so good, I clicked on this, the thumbnail wasn’t loading and i opened the program I was drawing on, I genuinely thought this was an old big band song LOL you did such an aweosme job on this :)!!
This keeps getting in my recommended every time and I love it
Just gotta say ,this is awesome 👏🏼 keep up the great work
You should find a band to perform it live, bet there is at least one bigband that digs it! Nice job, nice main theme and walking bass!
hot dame dude, you've just earned yourself a new subscriber. Keep up the fine work!
We making it out of the incredibles showcase with this one
Oh my gosh this is perfect
the beginning sounds like the first note block video Alan Becker and Arron Grooves made
Very nice song and arrangement, still not sure how people compose... ALL THAT
this is easily the best use of fruity loops ive ever seen!
REAAAALLY TASTY WRITING & COMPOSITION
btw how did you set it to eigth note swing % in fl studio? i've never figured that out T_T
i guess we'll never know cg... T ,T .
this is so underrated love it
Damn dude that is fire🔥
Dang this is awesome! Kinda wanna play this with my big band now!
If you ever write the sheet music I’d love it! (As a trumpet player I love the trumpet hits and triplet section!!!!)
this reminded me of monster inc a lot
awesome work. reminds me of playing jazz band in highschool
this is awesome to make it sound that organic
was expecting more of a letloose of the drums to play out, and a little more brass explosion at the end as well, but really good writing.
the fact that you did this all with flstudio and piano roll..... wow.
very amazing hehe
Sounds absolutely amazing!
this music sounds good nice work man
😃
That's so cool
THAT ENDING IS CRAZY!
YO DUDE THIS IS JUST AMAZING I AM THRILLED DUUUDE
stellar job, i especially liked the modulation around 2:31 :)) please make more!!
Wow this is superb, keep it up .
I love this song A LOT, grat work
Could i use it in a video without monetisation and giving credit?
Bra ts is amazing 😭
Man im only through half of it and this ai incredible, so inpiring
This sound so good
Man, this is SICK!
Man this is too dope! Like the rat pack X fairly odd parents, well done!!!
this was pretty entertaining! nice work
very great
this is SO GOOD
big poke of dope
Awesome!
Wow, great work! Is there a sheet version available? I want to play this in my BigBand
great experience
nice man, it sounds kinda like it could be a intro to a movie or some shit
crazyyyy
Huh imagine some stick figures playing Minecraft note blocks to this
Really sick dude!
Can we get more big band swing and doo-wop pieces
this disney movie intro I love it 💀
Which movie?
its like a disney movie intro
awesome! Wich VSTs did you use?
great job
Can I know what sample library/VSTs you were using for these? They sound like theh came from ProjectSAM's Swing! and Swing! More libraries
what snare smaple are you using there mate? sounds good
What are the plugins/vst names?!!! This is awesome I want the 🎺 badlyyy
😍😍😍😍😍😍
Did you use some kinda swing, because I see everything on grid but doesn't sound like it, what is going on here?
i'm gonna make an electro swing remix of this
Hi does someone know what brass plugins are used here?? Thanks!
this makes me want to get kontakt or buy it? i dont really know if its free or not (probably not)
It's not free and not required to make good music. Right now my favorite toy to play around with is Musescore 4 which is completely free and sounds fantastic if you know how to utilize it.
sounds a lot like jazzy note block
Yo my man there was this contest i came across called “1st Time with an Orchestra composer contest” i think you should look it up there are still a few days left to enter this track would be amazing for that
interesting harmony introduced at around 1:06-1:12, cool to see that evolve throughout the piece. as a bassist/drummer tho the energy feels a little sterile, seems like a basic swing drum pattern instead of something tighter & same for the 8th/ghost notes on the bass. subbed though looking forward to more
como se llama para descargarlo ???
What Kontakt libraries were you using here?
cartoon heist ahh music
How long did this take?!
what vsts are these?? or are they sampled?
what vsts/soundfonts are you using for this bc they sound so damn good
Projectsam's "Swing!," personally if you want a less specific library that can still get it done consider the EastWest ComposerCloud subscription. There are plenty of top notch VSTs available there, some even better than Swing's.
Hey, for how long u've been using fl studio? do u know music theory? and what's your background on music xD
would be realy helpfull for a response
Been using FL Studio for about 5 years though I've only started seriously composing on it for 2. I've taken AP music theory in high school but a more generally useful skill was the fact that I play both the trumpet and piano. Being able to play music means that I've heard and seen a lot of music that I like and as such I know what about it makes me like it and what I don't like that I would do differently if I were to write my own piece.
@@christopherwick2150 oh i see :) i guess learning an instrument helps a ton when it comes to making melodies sound better, i was wondering how you can make this feel so alive and at some parts it actually feelsl ike a band playing..even tho it's just made in a daw, that's a feeling i try to go for but it's hard, what would you say the best way to improve on that is?
i think that learning an instrument makes it so your melodies feel more alive and less monotonous
what drums did you use?
I wonder what instrument you used it sound so clean !
Sorry for late response, I used Projectsam's "Swing!," personally if you want a less specific library that can still get it done consider the EastWest ComposerCloud subscription. There are plenty of top notch VSTs available there, some even better than Swing's.
@@christopherwick2150 yo eastwest got some cool pop jazz sounds. i have the subscription maybe ill try doing something like this, it inspired me a bit
what piano instrument is that? the default presets in fl studio are garbage
SPOTIFY PLEASE?
what software is this?
It kinda sucks that the midi doesn’t sound really realistic. I would love to see a live band play this because of how well written it is.
bro made a beat from the 20ies

Is this all vst?
Insano kkksks
I need brass that sounds like that 😢
im pretty sure they used the Swing! kontakt library by ProjectSAM
Omg omg omg omg jesussss🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
I like the use of the bass line and groove of that Aaron Grooves song in that stick animation. The melodies and chords you’ve put over it are really good!
we love them stick men

"in that stick animation" bruh who doesn't know alan becker

This has got to be the best composition of a band I've heard fully Digital. INSANE work man!
This is also good, but there are many out there that are better. It's impressive what you can do with just a computer.
timmy was an average kid that no one understands...
dude this sounds amazing - takes me back to my big band days! i think it would sound even doper if you cut bars 204-208 so contrast between the sparse and busy sections leading up to the end is maximised. your call tho - sounds great either way!
Good suggestion, I wanted to bring back the main theme one last time but I think you are right in that going for the contrast would be better, especially since the main theme is so repetitive already throughout the piece.
this is fantastic the only thing i would say is put everything on a reverb bus and add some effects to the piano and make it more realistic like someone recorded it in like randomizing the velocities and strumming the chords a little
Wow, so GREAT, fantastic and so wonderful, thank you so much my dear friend Christopher...
Dear evening greetings from Switzerland, your friend Hans-Peter
Thank you very much, I appreciate the kind words!

who else thought it were gonna be the song "Jazzy note Blocks" by AaronGrooves? xD

You're very talented, this sounds just beautiful 🎶
im absolutely blown by this piece. writing like this in fl? for me, impossible
Those trumpets are amazing! what did you use for them? i love the instrumentation it sounds so real
Wow, man. You harmony is amazing! How do you choose chords? They sound so jazzy
By not being shit🤣
