Yaaayyy! That's exactly what I want you to feel. Thank you so much for your feedback.
You are a wonderful teacher! Thank you so much!
You are so welcome!
Great tutorial. You have great skills and demonstrate proper techniques so well.
Thank you so much, Connie!
Excellent job!!! Now it’s my turn. Praying 🙏🙏. Lol
You've got this, Maribel! Please come back and tell me how your dress turned out. I'm cheering for you. Let's Gooooo!!! 🤗
That was the most amazing tutorial ever! I learned so much from you. You are without a doubt my favorite instructor.
Wow, thank you!
You make working with knit fabrics look easy. Great video!
Thank you! 😊 I think it's easy once you get used to working with knits.
Your tutorial is nicely done. I love the time-stamped segments. thank you!
You are so welcome! I'm glad you noticed. I've seen it in other videos and found it to be very helpful. So, I decided to give it a try. Thank you for your feedback.
Thank you SO much for this step by step demo! You've already shown me where I keep making mistakes which don't give me a perfect finish. I almost skipped watching this video, because it looked "too long" to keep my attention given my ADD. Really glad that I didn't skip it - you had me focused from beginning to end. Love your style of presenting and clear explanations. The dress looks fabulous on you. :D
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for your feedback. I really tried to cut the video down to 45 minutes, but I didn't want to leave out any of the details since I made this for new beginners. I totally understand not wanting to watch a long video. But I'm so glad you were able to make it through the entire thing. And I'm so glad you picked up some tips to help you with your finishing.
This dress looks amazing on you! Ty for the great video!
You are so welcome!
Sis.....let me tell you.....I have been stalking you this weekend and today at work.....just waiting for this video 😅😅....thank you so much!!! Love ya much ❤
😂🤣😂 Lynette, you've got me cracking UP! Yeeesss! It's here! Have fun making your dress, sis! 💕💕💕
You’re such a good sewing teacher! I have a similar pattern with long sleeves that I will be making. This tutorial has been very helpful as a reminder of how to proceed. I am 76 so don’t do short sleeves anymore. Besides I want mine as a fall dress. Thanks for doing this video.
You are so welcome! Have fun sewing your dress.
Because you look so fit and don't have excess fat in your body, that dress looks so awesome on you.
I really enjoyed this tutorial a lot. Thank you very much. Best one I have seen in a while. 😊
You are so welcome! I'm really glad you enjoyed the tutorial.
Okay Anita I bought the pattern, so now I need to find fabric and the notions. I plan to make 3 versions. I will definitely send a pic when I complete it....Happy Sewing 💐💐💐
Yaaay, Claudette! I can't wait to see your dresses. Thank you for joining me. Have fun sewing.
Great tutorial. Lots of great tips. I really liked how you walked through the shoulder stabilization. I remember having tons of questions about that when I first started sewing.
Thank you for sharing what you thought was helpful, Mari! It always helps to know.
Love those pockets n neckline!!!
Best tutorials bar none, and such a professional finish too. Thank you! 🙏
Thank you so much

I had watched some of your videos about two years ago and loved you. Then I stopped sewing for awhile. Here I am back and amazed all over again at your lovely and infectious personality. You are a gem.
Welcome back, Amy! Thank you so much for your kind words.
We love and appreciate u so much! Thank you!
This is one of those patterns that it almost feels like stealing because you can make it so many times. Its so good, you can dress it up and dress it down just by changing the fabric and your accessories. Great video!
Yes, it's so true! 😂 The possibilities are ENDLESS!!! I'm making one with sweater knit next for cooler weather.
Thank you Anita! So Kind of you to share this! Happy Sewing!
You are so welcome!

Your dress is lovely and looks amazing on you. Thank you for the wonderful instructions.
You are so welcome!
I think I can make this!!!
Going to follow this awesome tutorial.
You can do it! Have fun sewing your dress.
Hi Anita! It’s Teri here, the one with the bagging square neckband… so I put a couple small darts in the corners of the back band- not visible dt the fabric print-and that seemed to solve it. Then upon looking at the sleeve bands (I made the sleeveless version) they were baggy as well. I unpicked the bands then cut them off. I had not trimmed the 1/4 inch suggested if making the sleeveless view. I then decided to add the small cap sleeves. Problem solved! I believe my main issue is fit! I need to make a smaller size in the shoulders then do an FBA and grade out in the hips! The taking off of the seam and then adding seam allowance to stitch in the sleeves took away the extra fabric that was causing the bagging ! Now it actually fits! And I am glad I didn’t give up! Thx so much for your support !
Oh and btw , the black belt you wear in the video with the light blue colored dress ? I adore it! It looks great on you! It has silver Cs facing each other. I would love to get me one if you have the info on where you found it! Please and TY!!
Theresa!!! YES! I'm so glad you were able to solve the problem. Now I remember your last comment. I saw your dress on Instagram and I gasped. It's absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I'm so glad you didn't give up because that fabric is AMAZING.
I purchased the belt from Kohl's, either last year or early this year.
Thank you for that trip in setting in the sleeves I did that and it was amazing good job Your instructions are so clear
Yaaayyy! I'm so glad that was a helpful tip for you, and that it worked well for you.
You did such a beautiful job making this dress and especially the lovely finish of the neckline.
Thank you so much!
I truly enjoyed that tutorial I will be making my dress soon thank you so much especially the choice of fabrics

Hey Lynette! Thank you so much for always watching. You're such a huge support.
Hi Anita I just made my second dress today they turned out so good and it’s only because of your wonderful instructions thank you so much
Yaaayyy!!! I'm so glad your dresses turned out great for you. Congratulations! You're very welcome.
I enjoyed your video even though I have sewed for a million years. I found you because I searched for fabric stash storage. Seeing your sewing room grabbed me in! I have too much stash. I told myself no more fabric! I would feel right at home in your happy place!
Hi Denise! Thank you for stopping by. Yes, the fabric stash seems to be never-ending for many.
Anita, thankyou SO much. Your tutorial is really plainly explained, which is a diamond for me. I am a seasoned sewer and have made wedding dresses in the past but following a stroke, I am having to re learn right from the beginning. Watching you has given me hope that I will achieve my dream and make myself a basic dress successfully.
Thankyou again
Pat x
Oh my goodness, Pat! Thank you so much for sharing this with me. My heart is blessed to know that this helped you. I'm sending you so much love and encouragement as you make your way back to sewing. You will do it, Pat! You will achieve your dream and make dresses again. I just know you will. I'm cheering for you. PLEASE, come back here and tell me after you make your first dress. I want to celebrate with you.
Anita you look delightful in your dress and well presented. By the way your shoes are fabulous.
Thank you so much!
This helped me so much, thank you
You're welcome!
Thank you soooooo much. I love the knit fabrics but I’ve always been afraid to try sewing with it. I bought some beautiful knit fabric years ago and never done anything with it. Your video is long but definitely needed as you go through every possible step, well done, I’m now going to get my pattern and try it out, I’m sure if I take my time and use your sewing tricks (like holding your threads at the beginning and back stitching a little back from the end) I’ll get it done. Thank you 🙏
Hi Linda! You're very welcome. I know, it's always a toss up between making along video and including all the steps or making it shorter and leaving some things out. I do both on the channel, but I really wanted to make this one very detailed since it's for my new beginners.
Yes, many people are intimidated by knit fabrics. You can do it. Have fun making your dress.
@@AnitabyDesign thank you and I’d much prefer a longer video than to be left wondering if I was doing it correctly. I love watching your videos first, then playing it step by step when following your instructions…. So yes please, longer videos to keep us right! x
Anita, You are such an elegant lady and one of the best teachers I've seen on You Tube. Your attention to detail and your sewing skills are just amazing. I've learned so much from watching your videos I bet your beginner sewing school is incredible as well. I purchased the same iron you have and I remember sending you a message asking you about it...i saw you use it in one of your videos and it looked so good I thought I may get one but wanted to ask you about it and knew you'd be truthful. I have to say I absolutely love it and bought it on your recommendation. I can't imagine sewing without it. Thank you so much for the time you put in to these tutorials. Your clothing makes are so professional and you just look beautiful in them.
Oh, Cathleen, thank you so much for your beautiful words. I'm so glad you love your iron. I'm pleased to have you here.
Lovely ♥️, thanks 😊
You're welcome 😊
Thank you for making this tutorial. Without your help I would not have been able to make this dress for my daughter.
You're very welcome. I'm so glad it was helpful.
Very good instructions.
Thank you 💕
Beautiful
Love the way you present everything❤👍🥰
Thank you so much 🤗
You're very welcome. One day you gonna tell us how you manage your perfect weight and look so fit and beautiful 🥰❤👍😊@@AnitabyDesign
You're a gift & you have a gift. Nice.
Thank you so much.
@@AnitabyDesign You're welcome. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful work
Thank you so much 😀
Hey Anita, love the tutorial.
I enjoyed the fashion show and video.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Melanie.
Thank you Chef Carol NYC.
Quick Tip: Use the "Time Stamps" in the description box to jump ahead to parts of the video that you want to watch.
To clear up any confusion about the stitch that I'm using in this sew-along: I am using a narrow zig zag stitch (not a straight stitch). I share in the beginning of the video the stitch length and width. Always use a zig zag or stretch stitch when sewing with knit fabrics. Now let's get to sewing this cute maxi dress. 💕
ta, thank you you are such a GOOOD TEACHER, you are perfectionist , please keep doing what you dooooo. Not like other ,starting skipping. I started sewing ,never had sewing background before ,the way, you present every video i am sure people started loving sewing.
Kamilla Canada
Thank you so much!
How am i just finding your channel? I love your personality!
Hi there! Thank you for stopping by.
I love this dress on you.
Thank you!
Wow! I started working on something else in anticipation of this being released! I can't wait to finish so I can get on this!😊❤
Yaaayyy, Lola! Have fun sewing your maxi dress.
Thank you so much for the informative video! Please can you do a video on making adjustments to the pattern? For instance, on this dress, the bodice front fit perfectly, but the back of the neckline gapes pretty dramatically. I would also like the bodice to be a bit longer, as this waistline is more of an empire on me, but I don't know how to make those changes.
Enough for beginners....
Hi Anita. I just watched this video and I have to say that dress really suits you. You should know that I really get a lot of good and new ideas on how to sew and get other methods of doing things. Thank you so much for all your videos and I'm guaranteed to see all the ones I have not seen yet. God bless you.
Hi Bodil! Thank you so much. I'm really glad that you're enjoying the channel so far. I appreciate your feedback.
Hi I am new to your channel, but I love ❤️ what and how you are showing and doing this work. Thank you so much I am writing from Monrovia Liberia, West Africa
Oh my goodness, Amanda! I am so happy to have you visit with me and glad to hear that you are enjoying the channel. Thank you for stopping by. I'm happy to have you here.
Another excellent tutorial with great tips Anita, thank you! Beautiful dress! Does sewing the seams first, then serging them result in a more professional finish vs only serging them?
Thank you Tamara! 💕
Great video Anita - you are a great teacher with a lovely speaking voice, such a pleasure to listen too! A question : I have been taught always to stay stitch necklines but - unless I missed it! - I don’t think you suggested that? 😀🇬🇧
Hi Moira! Yes, you are correct. Stabilizing the necklines to prevent stretching because the fabric is cut on the bias is recommended. I. don't always do it on knits that have great recovery because I don't worry about them stretching out of shape. And sometimes I forget. But it is ALWAYS good practice to stay stitch.
hello anita..rahmadhani here, im glad t found your chanel
