Just watched this and i can honestly say its one of the best how to clips ive ever seen. We will never get shown how to do it better than by those who have done it 1000s of times before. I have so much appreciation for this simply brilliant video. I dont work in a mine but i will definately try this one here in OZ.
Another Granny Nancy here, in Australia. I come from Devon [Tiverton] and I love hearing the West Country voice. So lovely to see someone doing this the way my Granny Nancy taught me, when I was a child....brought this knowledge out here! Love it, thank you. xx
Just as my gran and mum made them. Veg sliced, not diced and meat placed so the juices dribble through to add extra flavour to the veg. I’m feeling home sick now! From Kerry☘️
God this is brilliant. Thank you! So relaxing too!! Missing home so i will certainly try to keep the tradition going more often and get my son involved as well.
Been attempting to make a proper Cornish pasty like my Grandma used to make, took the recipe to her grave she did, rest her soul..This is as close as I can remember it being.! Thank you
Thank you for sharing your great Nan, Megan. I’m so glad you made it ; it will become a priceless treasure to you. Beautiful looking pasties and I’m sure they were delicious especially with that extra unseen ingredient of love. Love and best wishes
So wonderful a beautiful young lady had the generosity to share the wisdom of her nana with us! I am sure there are thousands of pasties being made hoping to have a slight taste of hers.
Yum! My family makes them with cubed potatoes, top sirloin, and diced onion. We put butter on when eating, and sometimes a little ketchup. Sounds icky to add ketchup but it’s great.
Ahhh bless her...now they are what you call Proper Ansum Cornish Pasties and though I don't put parsley in mine I know a lot like it...they look absolutely Amazing...you can't beat a proper homemade pasty...bless her heart...thank you for sharing this lovely video..😁👍❤❤🌹🌹💕💕😁👌👌
That was lovely ! I will surely make these ,thank you so much you made 10 !! That’s how many I have to make for big family . N Ireland -now in Canada .
This was like cooking pasties with my gran, which were better than all 6 pastie shops in Hayle. My cousin's make good pasties, Pellow's, but I miss my grans. I think everyone's grans cooking is the best.
Provenance and ‘legal description’ of what is required in order for a ‘ Cornish Pasty’ to be classed as such are just a list of what is ‘allowed’ to qualify… This pasty may not meet that list that most likely was set by a committee but it’s not being made to be sold; it was made to enjoy. It was made with care and love. The fact is this wonderful lady made a substantial meal that a lot of people would be happy to eat. Too many stuffed shirts out there that couldn’t come close to making one of these.
You make the dough 2 - 3 days before? Then it will not taste fresh...I guess. I just make it right before. Is that why my pasties break easily? They are not so steady as when I was in Bude, England. Wow! those are huge! I guess you eat only one of those?
Making something like this on You Tube is always bound to cause controversy - you shouldn’t do this or that, you don’t put that in or you should put this in etc.... is it Cornish or is it Devon.? What the hell. Just call the damn thing a ‘pasty’ and put what YOU like in it, your making it, you’ll probably be eating it. Also PLEASE to all pasty posters, when it’s cooked, cut the damn thing in half so we can see it !! One thing has always puzzled me about pasties, how does the meat manage to cook in 50 mins? Is it because it’s cut so thin? Whatever long live the pasty!! Doubt you would ever see an Irish person eating a pasty as my Irish wife tells me the Irish “don’t eat meat that has pastry on it”. Strange people 🤣
@@neilturner2924 yes Neil, they have strange ways ! Here are a few ‘Irishisms’ from my dear wife. She doesn’t like spaghetti because it’s like worms. Don’t cook with Rosemary as it tastes like Dettol . You only eat an egg when it’s cooked like the sole of your shoe - no runny yokes for the Irish!! Don’t eat English potatoes as they are a meal and a drink in one. However, when it comes to sweet things, like cake biscuits or desserts, mind out or you will be trampled in the rush!! Finally, Irish people can’t drink a cup of tea without a biscuit. In truth they are not bothered about the tea, it’s just a good excuse to eat another damn biscuit !!🤣🤣
No parsley in Cornish pasties in shops, but many Cornish grannies like to put it in their steak pasties and are you gonna tell her she's wrong? She'll then tell you she learned off her granny who often put parsley in her steak pasties.

I could watch Granny cut potatoes into pasties all day.
That is a proper dinner pasty.
Are the vegetables cooked beforehand or put in the pasty uncooked
You are a excellent cooker

My Granny Penaluna made nice pasties too.
Now that's what i call a cornish!! one of these will last you all day

Hi, what cut of meat is it? and what type of pastry do you use?
Skirt steak and rough puff

Core wish Nancy was my nanna
‘Andsome
Dear Granny,
Why didn't you put a hole n the top and eggwash them?
Kind regards,
Robin.
Devon makes better pasties
Theres no parsley on cornish pasty
That’s why it says Granny Nancy’s pastie and not traditional
@@blueenglishstaffybreeder6956 then drop the Cornish in the title
Just say ‘Granny whatever’s pasty’
Um are you so narrow minded
