- As some of you might know, I am a huge, and I mean huge, Beatles fan, and the place in the world I've always wanted to go, as a Beatles fan is LIVERPOOL, England! So finally last week I went there. Caught a Virgin train from London Euston station to Liverpool Lime street station, which normally would take about two hours, but that day a lorry (truck) hit a bridge up ahead of us and our train was delayed about 40 minutes while the engineers were inspecting the bridge.
Your train only stopped at Milton Keynes Central, because of Peak Time. It normally stops at Crewe instead!
Interesting info, I'll make a note of that
Is this the train that takes you to liverpool in uk. I need to get to the ferry that takes you to isle of man which is in liverpool. Do you know if the ferry place is close to the train station
I believe the ferry to Isle of Man is in Heysham, about 75 miles north of Liverpool - hope that helps :)
Thank you
Your'e welcome
The Ferry to the Isle of Man (IoM) is at Liverpool, around 20 mins walk from the station. There are also ferries to Belfast and Dublin from Liverpool. www.steam-packet.com/
You can take a train to Liverpool Lime Street then a Merseyrail underground train on the Wirral Line two stops to James Street which is 5 mins walk from the Liverpool - IOM ferry terminal.
Hi! Do you know if there is a cut off period they stop letting people onto the train? (Like a check in desk at an airline)
I could see people getting on the train with only about five minutes left before it leaves
You have up to 2 mins before the train departs, At busy times, there will be a bit of a crowd.
How long does it take to get from London to Liverpool by train? (without complications like your case)
About 2 and a half to 3 hours
thank you!
2 hours and 7 minutes
How much do i have to pay if im trying to get from london to liverpool (anfield) is it cheaper to reservate a train ticket or its the same as buying it right away???? Can u explain a little bit please im going to the UK in a couple of months.
It's about the same price if you buy in advance or buy at the station, but of course if you buy at the station and the train is sold out, you might have to catch the next train
@@evancortez2 thanks! Do you know how much them tickets cost, I just wanna have a idea so when I get there im not clueless 😅😅
It depends on the time of the train departure - I remember I paid about 18 pounds I think for one way ticket and 8 AM departure to Liverpool and 18 pounds going back to London at about 2 PM departure so total about 36 pounds
Hey did you do your trip. I’m planning on going to Liverpool (Goodison) but I’m from the United States. I’ll be traveling my own and I’m trying to figure it out.
HI,
how early you have to be there to get on the train...?
I got there about 2 hours early, but you really don't need to
i’ve never been to UK before. i want to ask how can I make it after I arrived at london euston tube at 11.07 and i also have to catch virgin train at 11.07? is it far?? in my ticket that i bought in trainline, there is schedule, tube from london st.pancras international to london euston at 10.47 until 11.07, can i take a tube before my schedule from trainline app? I really appreciate it if someone can help me answer this questions. thankyou!
You will need a minimum of around 7-9 mins from the tube platform to get to the train platform. If you are carrying bags , plan for 15 minutes. Tube will cost £2.40 if you use a contactless debit or credit card. Cash costs more than double. If you have an open ticket (£89.60) you can take any off peak train and they go every hour from 10:07 to 14:07 and 19:07 to 21:07.
Yes I would suggest you take an earlier tube so you can get to Euston on time
Did you buy fare ticket by online or when you were at Euston ?
Online at the Virgin Trains website
How much did you pay together for returns ?
It wasn't bad, I think 16 pounds each way, so total about 32 pounds, and Virgin refunded me about 2 pounds because the train was delayed.
Can we buy the ticket at Euston station on the day that we want to travel ?
Yes I believe so, as long as it's not sold out
Is there a place to put a big bag?
There is a place to put big bags in certain areas of the train
Do you always travel alone?
When I can :)
