Hii sola, I hope you are well and thank you so much for the videos. I really appreciate it, however I had one question. For the specifications, will I be able to find them all on the websites and will they all be up to date?
Its the same with any subject, write down all of topics in order of difficulty, do the topic and rate the study session red (hard), orange (medium), green (easy). If it was red, revise it again the next day. If it was orange, revise it in 3 days. If it was green, revise it in 1 week. You can increase the amount of days in between the more you revisit the topic or the more confident you are in the topic. Hope this helps.

I recently need help with keeping up grades. Coming home from school makes me feel really tired- i then have no energy to work. Any tips to help start early ??
I would recommend trying to revise before school because this is when you have more energy - even 30 mins of studying can make a difference for example in maths - do a quick corbett 5 a day. If you have the opportunity, try to go to a library or cafe before you go home, it will help distinguish rest from studying, and force you to be in an environment where people are productive and can see you. Hope this helps!

I got my mocks results back but they didn't let us see the paper or where we were losing marks or even the actual score out of 100 that we got - we just got the grade cuz it was "better for our mental health" (its not)
That sounds crazy! Definitely ask for your real mark because that's the only way you can improve! Otherwise there's like no point of doing mocks. Do practice papers by yourself as well and mark them so you can treat those as mocks and see where your weak spots are.

hi sola, or anyone that can respond to my comment, the spec for biology is so so long, it’s like 92 pages, what pages do i specially print out that will Help me? im really not sure
If you want to print it out physically only print where they talk about the topics in detail, not the front few pages and end pages. Or you can search for a checklist on Google e.g. AQA GCSE Biology Checklist. Some people already convert it into a checklist and all you have to do is make an account and download it. For example on the website Tes. Hope this helps!

Hi sola, how do you revise for RE OCR? Do you recommend just going over the specification and cramming the RE textbook that's like 300 pages long? Also, when did you start revising?
hi! you said in another video that to improve your English you should write an essay each week and have your teacher grade it. My question was what should I write the essay about? A pastpaper question or a random topic? please let me know thank uu
You can make your own question on a random topic and use past paper questions as well! Either is helpful. Eventually you will run out of past paper questions so then you create a question based on a character or a theme. Hope this helps!

I've got a level 4 in English, yet I'm classed as gifted. Sure a level 4 is a pass, I just wasn't given the opportunities in my life to prove myself. I've got 5 GCSE's including all 3 core subjects, 3 B's, a level 4 and a merit in horticulture. I went to special needs placement I didn't want to go to, but I still have passed none the less. I re did my English 2 years ago and missed half my lessons due to covid lockdown restrictions, but I still got 55% of the marks regardless. When I re did my maths I only did 2 pieces of coarse work and only got a B because I accidently missed out the middle pages. I think I was 3 marks off an A al together, because of the mistake I made or at least very close to an A. Next year I'm going to do AS kevels in maths and science! Don't be disheartened with only a 4, a pass is a pass!!!!
I would say it’s a nice way to make revision fun but it isn’t a really effective way to revise. Flashcards / blurting is better as it tests what you know rather than filling in the gaps and guessing
@@SmileWithSola thank you :) i use blurting alot for history and for testing my knowledge on the english lang anthology and it is working very well. :))

You will do compulsory English Language (2 exams for 1 gcse) and English Literature (2 exams for 1 gcse). You will do compulsory 1 give in Maths (3 papers) Yu will probably have to do science, but at my school you can choose Combines Science (6 papers for 2 GCSE’s) or Triple science (9 exams for 3 GCSE’s). Then everything else you can usually get to choose, but some schools make you do religious studies!

Hey - I have a small question for you - I’ve been looking through gcse/igcse videos all over UA-cam as I should be picking now for next year. My school does a combo of gcses and igcse and has a selection of compulsory gcses English: language & literature, combined science (you can pick triple science as an option), mathematics, religious studies and we are meant to pick 4 optional subjects (Art, Accounting, economics, geography, German,Greek, history, ict, music) I want to pursue being a mechanical engineer so I don’t actually need anything out of those other than triple science 😅. Is picking Triple science, computing, accounting, art or Triple science, computing, accounting, economics a better selection (with me being confident in both versions) as the first shows variation in skills while the latter shows a steady level in “logic-based” subjects? Or any other recommendations in 4 optional gcses as I am trying to keep an open mind.
Art takes up a lot of time and commitment so unless you really really enjoy it I would recommend to do the 2nd option so you can focus on getting good grades in all of your subjects. Your uni won't discriminate based on you not doing a creative subject in GCSE. Hope this helps!

I hate geography as well, paper 1 is soo annoying, at least I got a 5 but hopefully get at least a 7 on the real one
Thank you for doing this video. It will help me as a parent help my daughter ❤
I got a 3 in English lit for my end of year 10 mock, I worked so hard but my hand cramped up and I physically couldn’t finish, I got a high 4 in maths and 5-5 in both phys and bio. I was so disheartened by my English grade and I had no idea how I was going to turn it around. This video has opened my eyes and helped motivate me to work so hard over the summer thank you so much
For reference my grade in my English assessments were 5+ and 6s and I would have probably got that if it wasn’t for my exam technique however I still was sad
Hi I really recommend Mr Salles on UA-cam for English revision, he got me from a 6/7 to an 8 in my recent year 10 mocks

im already at an 8/9 for most my subjects but i'm really trying to maintain that for my exams
GOOD LUCK, WE GOT THIS 😭😭
FR GOOD LUCK TO YOU TOO
I’m getting 2s, 3s and 4s. GCSEs are only a few months away i don’t think I can get to my goals (5-7s) in time. Please encourage me guys😢
Iam in the same position as you right now.
Iam stressing out fr but don’t be depressed, you still have time to get your grades up if you keep working hard and grind.

You've got this 😊
you’ve got this! you have 3 months which sounds short but thats 12 whole weeks you have to make sure you understand things u find hard and learn the content

Biggest advice I got told us revise smart not hard - 2 hours of good quality undistracted revision is far more useful then a whole day of distracted revision .
this is very true!
YES!!!
definitely true, but also with the two hours, remember to destress, unclench and take breaks because after some time you just won't take in the information
i wish i saw this video early !! im in early entree history(we pick our options in year 8 and do them in year 9, if u perform well in history then you get to do the gcse in year 10, not year 11 so u get to have one gcse off if that makes sense). we did our mocks for history and i got a grade THREE. i was sooo disappointed in myself as all my friends got grades 6's and 7's and 8's. i didnt tell them my grade but i did the gcse now and im waiting for my resuls. im defo gonna be using this video for my other gcse's though !!
thanks a lot, this is very helpful
loved this video!!
Yep this is coming up just before exam season!
Im currently getting 5s and 6s on all my subjects. However, I was dissapointed in my last mock that i got a 6+ on Maths just like the previous one before that so I'm doing past papers on Maths rn so i can get a 7-8
I love this. Thank you.

i’m watching this in ib haha!! i rmb watching ur videos when i did. my gcse
when i did my gsces i learnt that aiming for 9 mainly is leading you to failure because you will over commit a good 7 in 3 subjects can get you into med school and stuff so just make 9 u hope for but dont want alot
i sadly failed maths gcse foundation and have to retake maths in november any tips im not the worst at maths i just make silly mistakes i was 9 marks away from a pass

Hii sola, I hope you are well and thank you so much for the videos. I really appreciate it, however I had one question. For the specifications, will I be able to find them all on the websites and will they all be up to date?
Thank you!! :))
i watch your videos before school 🫶🏽
I am also not sure how to use spaced repetition for topics and subjects such as maths and combined science?
Its the same with any subject, write down all of topics in order of difficulty, do the topic and rate the study session red (hard), orange (medium), green (easy). If it was red, revise it again the next day. If it was orange, revise it in 3 days. If it was green, revise it in 1 week. You can increase the amount of days in between the more you revisit the topic or the more confident you are in the topic. Hope this helps.
love this! thank you. :))
Can u give any advice for students who want to push up grades from 2 or 3 to 4 or 5 or 6...plzz
hi i was wondering if you could make a video on how to cram or improve maths grades quickly and maybe spanish loved your video it helped a lot :)

@@SmileWithSola how about now that we only have 15 school weeks left till gcse? Will this be effective ?

Hi!! In my mock results which was last week, I failed my combined science and I really want to pass it for my next mocks which is in march I think and then improve for my GCSEs, which are in a few months. Any help?
I've got the perfect video for you! Watch my video on how to get a Grade 9 in GCSE Science - it gives you specific tips and tricks for each science and how to improve: ua-cam.com/video/NL7u7vZ4mnM/v-deo.html
Do you HAVE to do A level chemistry to do denistry? because i hate chemistry and i suck at it whereas i love biology
Chemistry is necessary at almost every university in UK unfortunately. Check each university's requirements to see
just something you have to endure unfortunately. its the same with me

Im in my exam season right i have chemistry and geography tomorrow 😭 and nore exams next week and anther 8 days after half term! How can i use my tine wisely to at least get a 5 😭
hi sola, or anyone that can respond to my comment, the spec for biology is so so long, it’s like 92 pages, what pages do i specially print out that will
Help me? im really not sure
For 2023 they wont provide advance information so can i use the specification (thats 2017)? Is it helpful if i use the specification of 2017 for my upcomming igcse exams?
Feeling abit doubtful thats why. Someone please help me out.😭😭
Yes the 2017 just means that’s when it was first made. It is still relevant for your exam and they update the pdf if anything changes. Don’t worry, it’s the right one

hi! you said in another video that to improve your English you should write an essay each week and have your teacher grade it. My question was what should I write the essay about? A pastpaper question or a random topic? please let me know thank uu
You can make your own question on a random topic and use past paper questions as well! Either is helpful. Eventually you will run out of past paper questions so then you create a question based on a character or a theme. Hope this helps!
@@SmileWithSola thank you so much this is very useful!!
How did you revise for computer science pls reply

Should i do topical past papers or yearly?
If you're ready for them yearly past papers are the way to go! The topic papers are also really useful but yearly will be the most effective 👍🏼
i remember when it was 100 days left until our gcses ;-; I am pretty lazy and when i dont try i still get a 6 in sciences but i need a 7 for my sixth form, every night i have the motivation to rise and grind and then i just lose that in 5 minutes which is really frustrating...
I know I need to revise but my mind isn't in it currently and it's just getting worse as I feel further behind
Don't be disheartened with only a 4, a pass is a pass!!!!
thanks
your videos are so helpful thank you! do you think that using seneca is a good way to revise?
I would say it’s a nice way to make revision fun but it isn’t a really effective way to revise. Flashcards / blurting is better as it tests what you know rather than filling in the gaps and guessing
@@SmileWithSola thank you :) i use blurting alot for history and for testing my knowledge on the english lang anthology and it is working very well. :))

when i do past papers theres some parts i don't understand. What should i do?
specification? so like topics or exam board?
The topics that will be in ur exam
The examboard has a pdf document where they write each topic and what they want you to know. You can search this on Google e.g. AQA Biology GCSE Specification
can you use the revision guides as the specification guys?
help!! how do i get better grades in science i failed the end of year test with a grade 3 😭 i'm ending y9 so i could do with the advice x
how many subjects should i revise a day if i have 3 months left until the real thing? i watched ur video on making a revision timetable and you spoke about the one subject rule but i was wondering if that would change with exams soon approaching, should i increase it to 2 or 3?
What if we finish the past paper and have like 15-20 mins should I just stop?
Try to mark some of it then mark the rest asap. This is so the questions are are still fresh in your head and you understand where you were coming from in the questions.

I tried to search up information, but the more search the more getting confused plz help or make detail video 🙏

@Ava Jordan thankyou for details
