With the birth of Simba and the rise of a new future king, Scar feels cheated. He knows with his current circumstances he will never become king turning him bitter, angry and resentful leading him to attempt to destroy Simba. When Scar plots against the cub, his father Mufasa did everything in his power to save him and succeeds. Scar knows now if he truly desires the throne and truly wants Simba gone, the death of the king must come too, but of course he’s going to need a little help for that which perfectly leads into Scar’s villain song Be Prepared!

I honestly think Scar is the most manipulative Disney Villain based purely On the fact that his manipulation reaches a wider number whereas other villains’ manipulations usually focus on a single individual.
With Hades, it was Meg
With Frollo, Quasimodo
Jafar, The Sultan
Ursula, Ariel
Etc.
Whereas other villains may have admirable manipulative skills, only Scar manages to convince an entire hyena clan, possibly 100 Strong, to rally behind him for his plan.
I agree with your thoughts although I would like to say I think Frollo also was able to manipulate the armies of Paris to condemn the gypsies. Thanks for watching!
Scar wants to control the Pridelands in effect Denmark as this is an animated version of Hamlet. This increases his subjects to thousands and the canny use of the Hitler reference is exactly how leaders used to gather supporters, armies in the old time monarchies. Many Royals would feel 'frustrated' at the arrival of a child to knock them of the waiting list to rule. The story of 'The Princes in the Tower of London' would have been known to Shakespeare. Even King Louis XIV gained power as an infant and that must have riled many people.
Hashim ThaDream I personally think he just Manipulated the 3 main Heynis, who in return had the rest of the clan follow them.

The only person who could potentially match Scar in manipulation would be Hans, who managed to get most if not all of Arendelle on his side, and was much more covert about his true actions/nature.
I noticed that the scenes you showed on this video indicates Scar’s threat level. I never saw it this way when I watched the movie.
Green = Threat/danger level low
Yellow = Threat/danger level mild
Red = Threat/danger level high and steaming.

I only recently noticed what the hyenas were singing, and it fits. They don't really care who's on the throne, all they care about is food. And when Scar promise them food, they get on board with his plan, for their own gain and on the prospect of an endless feast

I think Scar was always bitter and angry from years of beinf pushed aside for Mufasa. Simba was just the final straw on the camel's back
And his parents named his scar after he was scared as a baby. The parents are the real villains. Scars a tragic hero

At 8:23 my favorite part of the song. This song made Scar being my favorite Disney villain even though he killed Mufasa and tried to kill Simba twice. He's still one of my top ten, I also never heard the hyenas sing until now I thought that they were just vocalizing

I love this song! Both Jeremy Irons and Jim Cummings delivered a great performance. As much as I despised Scar, I enjoyed the song.
I think it's safe to say that Scar does have a pretty badass voice.

I love this song to death, and I didn’t realize how much Scar abused and manipulated these hyenas until you explained it
"Be prepared" cimentates Scar's status as Simba's dark mirror, because it's a dark version of "I just can't wait to be King." Both Scar and Simba start as lion princes who want the post of king solely for the benefits, seeing it as a window to do whatever they liked with no consequences. But Simba eventually realizes, unlike Scar, that being king comes with responsibilities.
I love Scar he's my favorite villain.

Can you put out a theory about why there is more than one hyena female in Jasiri's clan? It feels kind of contradictory that there's more than one when the show is also trying to teach kids about the different animals daily routines and social order. Like Ono says, "It's common knowledge really."
The female hyenas are extrodinarily revered. Even the lowest ranking female is higher than the highest ranking male. Just a factoid but not really an answer. Shenzi is obviously the leader and her cohorts are all dumb as bricks. (Disregard my previous edit. i read the comment wrong!)

Perhaps he is not a good singer? James seems to love this role as he is reprising it in the less than satisfactory reboot but maybe he just cannot sing. The on stage actor for mufasa certainly can!

It could explain why Scar’s voice goes from Jeremy Irons to Jim Cummings, aside from needing a more intense song voice. His low, polite voice gives way to a passionate villain voice, the only moment he’s truly himself.

Edit: I know you don't want to do another LK video, but I really want you to break down the song Not One of Us from Lion King 2. That song is so powerful, when you think about what happened to Simba, that made him make the decision to excile Kovu, and the song just fits what just happened.

Now that you've pointed out the hyenas' words in the song I cannot unhear them. Whenever I listen to Be Prepared my brain subconsciously focuses on them!
Please analyze I Won't Say I'm In Love next because Megara is one of my most favorite female Disney characters.

Though the film does not acknowledge this, there is a good underlying symptom for Scar's actions that corresponds perfectly with how lion prides normally function in the wild. Lionesses usually take after lions who have dark manes as this indicates greater hormone drive, which is perfectly reflected in Scar's portrayal in the animated film. They are much more likely candidates than male lions who have lighter or no manes to lead a pride. Therefore this significance in Scar's case must have allowed him to become too possessed by his own qualities to become an effective ruler; in contrast Mufasa, despite being less potentially attractive, proved he didn't necessarily need to be to be powerful and wise; something Scar saw hard to be commonly appreciated. This is one of my most viewed movies and it took until NOW to realize that the color schemes in this song progress through stoplight order- green at the calmest, yellow at the tense middle, red at the high warning.
And that Scar's belittling of Shenzi specifically was a great foreshadowing for her being the one leading the betrayal when she overhears him scapegoat their species for his actions. I hadn't pieced together that she was the only one who actually was alert enough to resent his condescension and thus would have led the charge against him.
Be Prepared is one of my favorite Disney Songs.
Scar is without a doubt the best Disney villain in the world and my favorite character in the world and that will never change. And this version will always be the best version of Scar not the 2019's version.

This. Was. Amazing! To answer the question, I would say any Disney villain that convinced the protagonist for years of a certain fear that was limited or non existent in reality, for example Frollo from Hunchback and Mother Gothel from Tangled. I think the most manipulative of the Disney villains had to be Judge Frollo because of the lies, misuse of power, and overall contempt he had. As for the next song to be broken down how about "Oogie Boogie Song"
