Hello everyone,
You're watching Sandy and Avegel react to @BABYMETAL for the very first time to their incredible and mind-blowing performance to their song headbangers.
We are speechless, we were not expecting this kinda performance.
Their energy is overloaded wow!!
Anyway, hope you liked our reaction.
Thanks for watching!
Stay safe and stay healthy!
Xoxo
Thank you for watching our reaction video. And thanks for giving us the valuable information in the comments- I learned a lot! Have a great day ahead.
The concert was the day after lead singer Sumetal's 16th birthday, hence the Legend of 1997, her birth year. This concert is 2013.
Wow, the lead singer was just 16yrs old here😮😮😮
Anyway,Thank you for this information😊😊
Stay safe!
@@Avegel and the side singers were 14 years old here!
@@satoshi_hasegawa3847 Yes and you are incorrect. Su had just turned 16 and Yui and Moa are just at 2 years younger, both born in 1999, than her making them 14 at the date of the concert.
@@LouieGrandie Ahh got it
And this is 3+ years after they recorded their first song. That was Oct 30 2010 and this concert was Dec 21 2013. At that time Su was 12 while Moa and Yui were 11. In present day Su is 23 while Moa is 21. Yui is no longer performing because of undisclosed health reasons. There are 3 girls who fill the third spot on a rotating basis. Their first song is Doki Doki Morning. In the official video they are 13 and 12. It was shot a year after the song was recorded. There is earlier stuff than that too. There is video of live performances from 2010 and early 2011. Suzuka Nakamoto was also in a previous 3 girl group called Karen Girls. When she was 10. There are also videos of her performing at the Acting School of Hiroshima as young as 8. It's cool for the fans that so much was recorded.
And of course BABYMETAL started as a subunit of the Idol Group 'Sakura Gakuin'. They were all members of that group too. Su until 2013 and Moa/Yui until 2015. So there is a ton of Sakura Gakuin video with the girls. They did songs and had sort of a tv show with their school theme. So at the time of this concert Su had 'graduated' from Sakura Gakuin but Yui and Moa were still very involved. They were in nearly every subunit because they were so cute and talented they made everything better.
"they must have done something to make them look young because they look 15" LOL no, they are 16 and 14 in this performance.
They were accustomed to performing in front of crowds since they were 6 or 7 years old. They learned how to do Babymetal songs in a warehouse in Japan in 2020 and they knew nothing about metal music.
Great first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Galaxy. I hope you will react to more of their songs and especially their live performances ... they have won international awards (getting on for 30 of them now) including Best Live Band for very good reason.
Legend 1997, as you have been told, was the lead singer Su-metal's 16th birthday celebration in December 2013 - she is the Legend of 1997. Yuimetal and Moametal were 14. It was at the Makuhari Messe in front of a sell out crowd of 8-9,000 people ... and they were yet to release their first album.
They have only gone on to greater things ever since and are now internationally the most successful Japanese band of all time (not the biggest in Japan of course, but they do sell out arenas whenever they play there).
BABYMETAL formed in 2010 as a sub-unit of a Jpop Idol group - Su was 12, Yui and Moa were 11. They are a fusion of metal with Jpop aesthetics and choreo and the whole idea (formed around Su's vocal talents and stage presence) was never expected to become anything more than a sub-unit that would last for maybe 2 years at which time Su was due to graduate and leave the Idol group.
Against all the odds and everybody's expectations they found their own audience and outgrew the Idol group, so when Su was 15 and graduated and left the Idol group in 2013 BABYMETAL separated with her to become an independent band in their own right.
In anticipation of that the live band was phased in gradually from October 2012 and became their full time support for all live shows from March 2014. Prior to that BABYMETAL would sing with a fake band dressed in skeleton suits (Babybones) miming the instruments to a pre-recorded backing track.
The live band are called the Kami Band and they are among Japan's very best session musicians - they can play anything, which is just as well as with 3 studio albums and about 50 songs now you will be very hard pressed finding any two that are alike. They have songs in virtually every metal genre and they will mix in many other musical styles and genres, often when you least expect it.
For your next reaction you could try their first appearance at a major event on their first trip outside of Asia in 2014. Su was 16, Yui and Moa just days past their 15th birthdays and they were moved with just a couple of months notice from their original booking on a small side stage to open the main stage on the Saturday morning at Sonisphere metal festival in the UK. They faced up to 60,000 UK metalheads, 99% of them had no idea who or what they were.
They played about 30 minutes, just 5 songs - this was the last song of the set. It is called 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' (Bullying, No More For Ever) ua-cam.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/v-deo.html You will see and hear at the end if they had won over the crowd (known to be a hostile mob if they don't like what they hear).
Thanks for this information, we’ll definitely react more to their videos.
Wish you a lovely day/evening ahead😊
As Babymetal walked of the stage you can easily hear the mob shouting for more...
Now they are all grown up into beautiful gorgeous woman. Su-Metal is 23 and Moametal is 21. Yuimetal which left Babymetal in 2018 due to undisclosed health issues is 21. Babymetal just celebrated their 10 years anniversary and are holding a series of concerts in their native Japan which started on 19th January 2021 in the Legendary Budokan on 10 nights.
Babymetal have a long road of surprises, so brace yourself and enjoy it. 🦊🤘❤️
I think your wife will appreciate Babymetal music as they combined Japanese pop music and heavy metal music into one hence creating a new sub-genre call Kawaii (cute) metal.
Headbanger is always a banger song and Live BABYMETAL is Life.
Next watch Babymetal - Road of Resistance (live in tokyo) 🤘🤘🤘🤘
excellent content, Babymetal is awesome.
ありがとう!
Baby Metal always Amazing performance...👌👌👌 welcome to The Metal Galaxy...🤘🤘🤘 Next React Road Of Resistance Live in Japan...💓💓💓💓💓💓
The concert was to celebrate Su-Metal's 16th birthday - she dies and is reborn during the show, hence 'the apocolypse' reference.
The two other girls, Yui and Moa were born in 1999 and so were actually 14 when this show was performed.
BABYMETAL were formed in 2010 when the girls were really young and part of the idol group Sukura Gakuin.
Dude. No spoilers. Just tell them watch BABYMETAL Death from the same concert and we'll explain afterwards
@@charleslatora5750 It's not really a spoiler since the lore dump before Babymetal Death explains this
Excelente! Babymetal 10 years headbarger!!! Babymetal performance= energy happy
Great reaction!!!! Lead singer SuMetal" I think was 16 and MoaMetal and Yuimetal are 13 turning 14. You two are amazing looking forward to you next reaction. 🤘🦊🇯🇵🤘
BABYMETAL FOREVER
10 years and still Legends
🤘🤘🤘
All hail The Fox God
Babymetal is the most energetic band I have ever seen...
Please check out more songs by them. Thanks...
Yeah, I wonder how many calories they burn at their shows. :)
Fun reaction! "They looked like dead people.." (speaking of the band members). Bingo! BABYMETAL'S backing band, the insanely talented KAMI Band (KAMI means god, spirit, divine being) often dressed in traditional Japanese burial robes and wore corpse paint makeup. You're in for a treat should you venture further into BABYMETAL. They have a large catalogue of terrific videos/songs to react to & no 2 are alike. I'm sure you'll receive many requests from BABYMETAL'S fanbase, a.k.a. "THE ONE", a name bestowed upon us by BABYMETAL.
Unlike most K-Pop, J-Pop, or other female 'Idol' groups, BABYMETAL uses no suggestive or sexual imagery, lyrics, or choreography in their music or performances. This is intentional.
Their lyrics can be poppy, silly, & fun; however, most are positive, inspirational, & uplifting, & inspire thousands of young fans. Also worth noting is their work ethic, which is beyond reproach. And NO ONE can control a crowd like these young ladies.
BABYMETAL'S best work is definitely done LIVE; however, "KARATE" & "MEGITSUNE" are possible exceptions to the rule:
KARATE (OFFICIAL MV)
ua-cam.com/video/GvD3CHA48pA/v-deo.html
MEGITSUNE (OFFICIAL MV)
ua-cam.com/video/cK3NMZAUKGw/v-deo.html
For best results when watching, utilize a core BABYMETAL philosophy:
"Don't think. FEEL."
Looking forward to more BABYMETAL!
Arigatou! 🦊🤘 #notacult
charming energetic girls, talented bands, great music and of course they have the friendliest fans around the world, in a few hours there will be lot of comments and suggestion xD.
i hope u dig more babymetal songs
Great reaction , love the look of excitement the whole time. As others have stated Legend 1997 was the name of the tour not the year of the songs release. That concert was 2013 i believe. Lead singer Su was turning 16, and yui and moa were 14. Love to see more reactions to Babymetal
Thank you, we’ll definitely react more of their videos.
Stay safe!

Welcome to Babymetal! As mentioned previously...concert from 2013...1997 Su Metal's (the lead singer) birth year. Anyways...great reaction, and hope you keep checking them out!
Great reaction Su’s year of birth was 1997 this was to celebrate her 16th birthday Yui and Moa were both 14 also in case you are wondering the the statue is not Virgin Mary the statue has Su’s face on it. Babymetal started in 2010 when Suzuka Nakamoto aka Sumetal was 12 and Yui Mizuno aka Yuimetal and Moa Kikuchi aka Moametal were both 11. In this they were 14. Last year was their 10th year anniversary which Su is now 23 and Moa is 21 Yui unfortunately withdrew from Babymetal in 2018 due to health issues and her doctor said she couldn’t perform. Originally Babymetal metal was a school project to get the girls ready for the entertainment industry. Koba a metal head producer decided to experiment by mixing J-pop with metal and invented kawaii (cute) metal they did a song called gimme chocolate which went viral and became a huge success so when the girls left school Koba kept Babymetal going and got a real band called the kamiband (god band to play when touring ever since they’ve been selling out stadiums everywhere and broken a couple of records and awards.
( slight correction) a sub unit of Sakura Gakuin a school themed Japanese idol group run by Amuse talent agency made up of 10 to 15 year old girls 🤘🦊🤘
They were 14 & 16 here i believe& 1997nis just the year the lead singer was born & the name of the concert, the concert actually took place in 2013
Well some info

The song is about a 15 year old girl first heavy metal concert

^Babymetal is BY far the best music i found for myself in the last ten years^^ Another great live song is Road of Resistance :)
楽しいリアクションありがとう😊💝
Haha I love the smile on your faces! That's what it's all about!! How about something a bit more intense by them? Check out Amore Live Proshot or Road of Resistance Live 🤘🏼
Let's keep it going! Cheers 🍻
Great reaction!! You put a smile on my face and I thank you for that. I remember having the same amazed/speechless face when I first heard this song, it's the song that made me a fan of this wonderfully talented band.
I think that all of your questions have been answered, but anyways. This show was in 2013. 1997 is the year Su (lead singer) was born, and this show was for her 16th birthday. The two dancers are 1.5 years younger and were 14 at this show.
1997 the year Su-Metal the lead singer was born. She was16 here so that makes this performance circa 2013..🦊🤘🏾👀
I think you're going to have a great time with Babymetal. Next you should check out the official music video for Doki Doki Morning. It's their first song.
They have a story that the 3 girls are sent by a metal entity called kitsume ssma / the fox god to save heavy metal by bringing a new kind of metal to bring everyone together as THE ONE, THE ONE Is the name of the fan base. The last show was yesterday and it was called metal resistance episode X the final chapter that just means the last chapter not the end of Babymetal. Apocalypse was part of the story
I would not take any of that too seriously. It's just a made-up show, an act. When the show is done they walk around in jeans and t-shirts just like anybody else.
You’d definitely should react to more babymetal such as gimmie chocolate, road of resistance, or shanti shanti shanti their sounds are all amazing with their performances!! And their live performances are the best in my opinion 😊
As I'm sure any number of people have told you by now.... the two side singers are not 15 here... they are 14! The lead singer was 16 at this concert and she was born in 1997. This concert therefore was not in 1997 but named that in honour of the lead singer on her birthday in 2013. Everybody seems to get confused by that "Legend of 1997" tag.
Yes, they really are as young as they look. The song is about a girl growing up and attending her first metal concert at 15 (the age at which Japanese students end their mandatory education) that she will never have this unique experience again. It concludes with her reminiscing at age 20. They are chanting "Hed-o-ban", which is the Japanese word for "headbanger" music. Their first real hit as Babymetal in 2010, called "Doki Doki Morning" and the music video looks a lot like something you would see in kids shows. The lead singer is Suzuka Makamoto, accompanied by Yui (left the group in 2018) and Moa (still in the group).
So glad to see that you two enjoyed this performance. As others have pointed out this was done in 2013 the day after the lead singer's 16th birthday, and 2020 marked their 10 year anniversary. The first two albums definitely had a more classic metal sound to them, whereas their latest album, Metal Galaxy that was released in 2019, has a more diverse sound to it that mixes metal with other genres of music from around the world. I look forward to your journey into Babymetal, it's quite a ride you have ahead of you, and whatever you think it will be like, it won't be, but it will be awesome.
Don't like BABYMETAL as women in their 20s in 2024. It's not the same product as when they were kids. Their best years were with Yui Mizuno and that's long over.
the legend of 1997 is just because the lead singer (Suzuka) was born in 1997. the two other girls (Moa and Yui) are even younger)))
Congrats for your 10k suscribers! Nice selection of tunes and you both are very interesting and fun to watch. Thank you
Hi Leblon Thomas,
Thank you so much😊😊😊
We’re glad that you like our content.
Wish you a lovely day/evening ahead.
Stay safe!
warning ... babymetal makes you fall in love
You should check out catch me if you can live by babymetal
After a public concert hiatus of 10 months Babymetal have just played the first two of a projected ten at the Nippon Budokan to a socially distanced and double masked audience. This series celebrates ten years of Babymetal and is titled ‘Doomsday’. In the video Su is 16 and Moa and Yui are still 14. Yui is no longer with the band, but the Babymetal infomaniacs will fill you in about that. You need now to react to Band Maid, who are currently releasing MVs from their new album
Social distancing and double masking. What a horrible way to attend a concert and it was all worthless overkill. Hope it never happens again.
This song is so good. Even Pikachu loves it! Actually 1997 is referring to the birth year of the lead singer. Su-Metal is only 16 at the time of this video I believe. The other two girls are 14. Yes...They are that good. One thing to remember. Su-Metal has been performing at the pro lvl at the age of 8. If you want a more in depth info on the band/girls you might want to watch "The unhelpful guide to Babymetal." It will get you up to speed pretty quick.
I think you overstate it a bit. Thousands of Japanese girls could have been hired to do this. Just check out the J-Pop industry and how it works. It's a machine.
1997 was the year that Babymetal lead vocalist Suzuka Nakamoto or Su-Metal was born hence the title Legend 1997 Apocalypse. About Su-Metal singing ability, she said in an interview, she sings while running on a treadmill for endurance and vocal stability.
The treadmill thing was never said in an interview, it was mentioned in comments on UA-cam reactions that some singers do that and it sort of spread from there ... she did say she doesn't stay still in the recording studio so that she can decide on the best breathing techniques to be able to sing each song while doing the choreo. So maybe she uses a treadmill, maybe she doesn't.
@@Grington300 never heard/ seen story saying that myself . first i heard the story was middle of last year in comments . but i did see the moving around while singing in studio one and we do know she wears The Cape while rehearsing Akatsuki. #bringbackthecape !
🤘🦊🤘
@@martinmetal7481 Exactly
A lot of fans like to portray these women as having super abilities. That's overstated. They are talented but a lot of people can do what they do onstage. I think that they are aware that LUCK, not talent, played a big part in their success. Thousands of other Japanese girls could have gotten the same job.
Great reaction! Thanks and welcome to our little crazy universe :)
I second Grington300 suggestion about 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' live at Sonisphere 2014.
Until next time!
If you think they're young here this is their first song, video that started it all. SU was about to turn 14 and Yui and Moa were 12
ua-cam.com/video/cirhQ8iLdbw/v-deo.html
"Doki Doki Morning" came out in 2010, so they were younger than that.
Babymetal is awesome. This was the song that introduced me to Babymetal.
Have you ever react to the Japanese band name Scandal? If not you should check them out. I can give you some suggestions and links for Scandal songs. I hope you do a react video for Scandal songs soon. I hope you have a great day.

This special night of my fifteen,
I’ll never forget.
All the crybabies,

It’ll never come back again

As you may know, Iran has many ethnic groups with different dialects and languages.Rastak group is an expert in singing in different dialects and languages of Iran, which are at times different languages than Farsi, the national language of Iran of course,as Turkish,Kurdish, which only people from western side of Iran could really understand and speak and other parts as North,South, and East also speak in different and unique dialects of their own and while others may understand words from them but at times they seem as completely different languages and hard to understand but for Shiraz,Esfahan,Mashahd,Khuzestan,...they have dialects of their own but its mostly a different pronunciation that is different but it is Farsi. All this is to say Rastak group sings all those folk songs from different languages and dialects and pronunciations of different parts of Iran,so they are very enjoyable to listen to for all Iranians especially when they sing them as a mix of all songs. For you not understanding any it can be interesting to hear different kinds of music that they sing and play as in different parts of Iran special music is liked and has been made into a culture and the essence of their ethnic group. Hope you get the time to hear them.

Awesome video but 1 question, how do you upload these without getting content claim flag and blocked?
Great reaction, you guys have great chemistry, really enjoy watching the vid with you guys - BTW, the more you get to know these girls (and the Kami band) the more you'll just fall in love with them. I'm sure others would have recommended other songs from Babymetal, so I'll go off a different tangent a bit and offer you,
1. Sakura Gakuin (the 3 girls were in Sakura Gakuin from 2010-2012/2014, an interesting look into Japan's idol industry as well)
2. Since someone mentioned about growing up and listening to metal in the 80s,
ua-cam.com/video/KG_fqkyJ-wo/v-deo.html
Understand that Babymetal is entirely the creation of a music producer, not the 3 girls. So is Sakura Gakuin and a bunch of other children's groups in Japan. It's not like being in a band in the west, which are mostly self-made, write all the material themselves, even finance themselves in the early stages.
Lol the wife looks like she is Yui-Metal mom
2020 was the 10 year anniversary for Babymetal, today Su-metal (Nakamoto Suzuka) is 23 and Moametal (Kikuchi Moa) is 21. This concert is in Hiroshima, Su-metal's home. The Legend is Su and 1997 is the year she was born. As others have said Su is 16 and Yui and Moa are 14 at the time of this concert..
All 3 have been performing professionally since they were 6 yo. They are the most famous and popular Japanese band in the world.
They are a good act but they are far from the "most famous and popular Japanese band in the world".
