An excellent explanation Sam. The difference between grain direction and the appropriate tool to use for each will be really useful. As a novice I've asked these questions before but have not had an answer I properly understand.... until now. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. Cheers, Ben
Great video Sam. I love the olive wood I just wish it wouldn't crack so easy. Wait until you put a clear finish on it and see how the grain pops out. It's so prettyMatt P.
Great subject for all. Recently I started a lot of spindle work and need this cross over info.
Thanks for your time,
Lee
Excellent and very relevant information Sam. Thank you.
Take care

Interesting and very informative video Sam. Just the thing some of us beginners will benefit from. Rich
Great job I have learned over the years to use whatever tool I have to get the job done.
I like the way you explained that
Really Good information. I think a series is a good idea. Thanks Tim
Thank you for the video Sam. I always learn something from you. Looking forward to rest of the series.

Your videos are always great. I am new at this and still not sure how I can tell if I have a bowl or a spindle gouge.
That Chuck looks like it has HUGE jaws that extend way up onto the wood. I like that. What is that called?
I think the jaws you are referring to are shark jaws with a Vicmark chuck

Thanks for the videos Sam, maybe someday you could go over photographing. Thanks
