    An excellent explanation Sam. The difference between grain direction and the appropriate tool to use for each will be really useful. As a novice I've asked these questions before but have not had an answer I properly understand.... until now. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

    Great video Sam. I love the olive wood I just wish it wouldn't crack so easy. Wait until you put a clear finish on it and see how the grain pops out. It's so prettyMatt P.

    That Chuck looks like it has HUGE jaws that extend way up onto the wood. I like that. What is that called?

      I think the jaws you are referring to are shark jaws with a Vicmark chuck
