That's right, no joke. It's true, here's how: You gotta be 'born again'. You slay the former you, and you 'put on' the NEW man which is created by YHVH Almighty God, through your faith in Yehoshua the Christ, Savior and Redeemer. The New man is God's free gift to you as you begin to believe in them (YHVH and Yehoshua, that is). OK, here's the catch: Killing off your old stony wicked heart is a commitment and requirement for our rebirth in God's Holy Spirit, who dwells within and CREATES in us a new heart! (heart= seat or center of our being) Here is a secret: It will begin with a grain of faith SO TINY (from you), that it seems impossible. That grain of faith (like getting into the circus for a penny) won't even cost you anything! Here is another secret (are you paying attention?): GOD WILL PROVIDE EVEN THAT (the grain of faith you thought you had to cough up). What you DO need to do yourself, is: ask for it, and mean it. That's it. Just ask for it in Yehoshua's name and IT WILL BE GRANTED! Period. Amen Sound something like this: Almighty God, I don't have the faith yet to know that you're there. I want that faith, help me in my unbelief. Give me the beginning of the new life in You. I ask for this in Yehoshua's matchless name. Amen OK, you're on the way. We gotta move fast. We need to get from point A to point B in record short time. Are you a brave soul? There's some things in your favor. You are in a forced study environment, so study. (a good beginning is a gospel, Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John where you can hear the words of Yeshua Himself, then Romans through Philemon, 13 letters from Paul, explaining in great detail our relationship with The Father, The Son and each other).
