Watching this video, it makes me sad as a professional. You have PO's with their shirts hanging out with blue jeans on, you have PO's with badges on their belt, as if they are law enforcement, which by code they are not. On the other hand, they have a huge workload and a ton of responsibilities, yet they are the lowest paid....with one of the highest turnover rates. Stressful job + low pay =high turnover.

This looks like a great video highlighting programs and services of great value, however, what it is missing is the contact information so that people can get involved.

So it's only available to inmates that have experienced an overdose? I'm assuming inside the prison? So you have to actually overdose in the VADOC to get any help?? That's absolutely RIDICULOUS. The prison system in this state is horrendous. Yall aint interested in anything other than making a profit. The prison industrial complex is real, especially in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Just a quick Google search on companies such as jpay, gtl, Keefe, access securepak,securus will show everyone how their ONLY interest is dollar signs. Not an ounce of care is placed into rehabilitating anyone or helping them succeed beyond those walls. In fact, I don't doubt they want them all addicted because it's what makes them more money!

That's good, but what is the emergency plan for the incarcerated should something happen on the inside? What's the plan for transporting 1-2K people should an emergency like that arise? Do you have the capacity to transport people to safety? Keep in mind, we do have people in prison who are wrongfully convicted as well as harshly convicted.

Prison should be about rehabilitation not only punishment more then 80% of prisoners have a release date and having many them learning skills like these make the transition into society so much smoother hope these guys turned their life’s around and made something of their time being away

That program is a waste of time. Inmates need to rehab themselves because most of them are repeat offenders. I served time in a female maximum prison in SC. I was released in 2001 and I have not returned to prison at all.

I did 3 years in Virginia and Maryland DOC. I was a heroin addict and thief for 14 years. Im now 8 years sober, and living in Florida. im 37 years old, and have my life back. I corrected myself while incarcerated, learned how to draw very well, took classes, got in great shape, and read literally hundreds of books. It changed my life for the better. The Lord Jesus disciplines those He Loves me.

Amen. Awesome Program!! Keep it coming and making a difference. We are all here for a reason a purpose. We all deserve a second chance. But when you get a second , third, etc. chance at breathing, living again. When the Good Lord gives you breath again you realize you matter and what's important. When will vadoc parole board give men who absolutely deserve it, second chances? These Motivational talks are for just inmates that have an out date. The parole board in Virginia is ridiculous. Give me a video and answers on what they are actually doing....!!!!

This is so untrue. Re-Entry is for those who are being released back into the community within a year. The programs I studied in this state's re-entry program does not offer these classes or counseling to black inmates. God is Real. Stop Lying to the public. You will reap what you sow.
