This guy speaks so perfectly. His voice carries the same elegance and grace that Sir David Attenborough brings to the narration of Planet Earth. There’s one journalist at Paul Tan who has the same style but for me this is the best.
The accent is called 'Received Pronunciation' or RP, and is spoken across the UK and is recognised as the English standard. It is largely associated with the upper-middle and upper-class segmentations and is also required for all presenters on the BBC. Aiman came to speak like this as his immediate family received a portion of their primary and the entirety of their secondary and tertiary educations in the UK.
We need this kind of review in every car reviews, especially on the ADAS thing. On paper, everything is impressive. But on real world, only those who has privileges to test many many car can explain very well like this brother Aiman. Well done and keep it up 💪🏻
The 3008 does not offer a better ADAS suite. However the Mazda CX-5 and Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace offer comparable features that are executed better. We advise taking the effort to understand what's being said rather than jumping to half-baked conclusions. And if you still fail to fully comprehend the point, test the features back-to-back and maybe then it will become clearer to you.

Love this review! So much info and truly is you did your study before giving the review blindly like most of the UA-camr. 👍🏼 But, if giving a bit of feedback, at the end of the review is slightly dry as it too much information as well. But over all is great! Thanks
Excellent review, Aiman. Honest & down to earth. Yes, Jaecoo J7 is almost a complete SUV at that price range but I believe many have that "unsure" feeling of the Brand?
I have tested J7 AWD today with total 4 adult including myself and when I floor the pedal I found the aircond become warm.. i asked the SA and he said this is normal...😮😮😮 my 1st time when I floor the pedal, I thought maybe is just funny.. then I floor the pedal again confirm the aircond become not cold.. only got blow air... I already make a booking before testing today.. so I might reconsider again.. if really want to commit. Anyway I will go to a different dealer tomorrow and try again with flooring the pedal... if the results is the same... then I will have to cancel my booking..😢
Just test drive in another Dealer also AWD 2nd time with 3 adult also same issues.. I recommended anyone who have decided on this selection go really test out with flooring the pedal and pay attention to the aircond...
Hi Aiman, great review as always! I test drove both this and the Tiggo 7 Pro, and everything about this just feels better - the handling, the brakes, the steering feel - it just makes for a markedly more assuring drive. Obviously I didn’t get to test the ADAS and what not during the brief test drive. Having tested both extensively, would you say it’s worth paying the additional 20k for this (the 2WD version) over the Tiggo 7 Pro though?
We also drove these cars back to back and came to the same conclusion. However the differences aren't night and day, rather it's a matter of subtleties. Therefore we don't dare suggest one over the other as it really is a matter of what you're willing to live with day-to-day and if that extra polish is worth the additional monthly outlay (via loan repayments). We would recommend the Jaecoo J7 but we'd also advise caution insofar as finances are concerned.
The Chery Corporate factory in Shah Alam is already tooled for electric & electrified powertrains. Emily Lek, VP of Jaecoo, said that the company "is always evaluating potential business cases for different models & variants, and will make the necessary announcements when they're due."
We took the Jaecoo J7 on an off-road course in Semenyih to prove its mettle... running on the same GitiComfort tyres. We always check tyres during off-road events to make sure the manufacturer doesn't try anything funny (though we haven't seen an incident like that in nearly a decade). ua-cam.com/video/Mc5jvERQ-6I/v-deo.html
but mazda cx5 malaysia still giving you an outdated infotainment centre screen. They cut cost by giving you a small screen with low resolution 360 camera, how to choose them? If they give you everything like other country such as taiwan cx-5, then its worth the price.
I think the J7 in the review comparison only Mazda is relevant as Peugeot and VW both have poor resale value due to legacy issues on reliability and poor after sales service that its largely been avoided. As for AWD capabilty it should be compared to Subaru offerings. Fuel economy should be compared to Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid. Technology should be compared to Korean makes such as Kia and Hyundai. As for Mazda inspite of its updates it does look old as the CX5 was introduced as far back as 2012 and still look the same.
I think this review is kinda irrelevant as soon as ot was shot, cause it was just announced today that the awd goes for 148k and fwd 138k respectively. Its more comparable to the japanese counterpart than the european in that pricing regards.
We defend our position as Chery believes its cars compete against the mainstream, while Jaecoo competes in the mass-premium space. This is based on our extensive questioning of the senior management of both Chery and Jaecoo which began when the brand was first previewed to the media in January, with consistent queries maintained since.
Marketing is the concern of the brand, not the sales advisor. This results in price discrepancies between dealers, which cheapens the experience for buyers. This is why Mercedes-Benz has moved to the agency model, as buyers should not be subject to so much legwork just to buy a car.
I prefer buttons too..perhaps am still old school but too much is a hassle..i also dislike dial controls ..also a hassle. Hence i got Proton x70 premium model..am happy with buttons combined with digital displays..and the AI...not to mention great safety features
But will you beat Jaecoo when comes about aftersales and part efficiency where Proton is not as good as Jaecoo even Proton and Jaecoo are better than some of Japanese car brands like Mazda, Nissan, Suzuki and Subaru?
I would love to see the feedback from Proton fanbois especially the X50 users which die die say their X50 fuel efficiency is great considering the power they have Meanwhile the HRV and this J7 gives much better fuel economy 🤡
Two major stakeholders in Chery Auto are entities belonging to the Anhui and Wuhu governments, which suggests that the firm may have received preferential treatment for loans, facilities, etc. creating an unfair market advantage insofar as overhead costs are concerned. This was detailed as part of a study conducted by the European Union into fair-trade practices in the Chinese automotive industry, which was recently detailed to the public ahead of imposition of new taxes to maintain fair-trade policies in the economic bloc. That said, here in Malaysia, we believe it is a combination of streamlined incentives offered by MITI & MIDA, earned by Chery as a result of high local parts content. The benefit to the consumer is obvious, but it also disproves that local brands benefit from 'protectionist' policies and clarifies that all carmakers are entitled to the same federal & state incentives based on their level of local content and commitment to long-term investments.
