Running on 3s with a Hobbywing EZRun MAX10 Sensorless Brushless ESC/3652SL Motor Combo (4000kv) this thing should rip pretty good once we figure out pinion size. I rebuilt the Element RC Stealth X Gearbox with the zero over drive setup and on a 18t stock pinion with this motor setup its spicy, cracking wheelies spicy. Stay tuned as we build this thing and see if it even works, currently running a 23 tooth pinion
I picked up a Element Enduro Gatekeeper rtr for super cheap with some Amain credits with the idea to build my first ladder frame railed hard body prerunner. I chose the gatekeeper because it comes stock with a true 4 link solid rear axle and has the ability to run the Element RC IFS Conversion Kit and my plan is to not use the front drives and run it 2wd with some custom long travel king shocks.

Brah, so good to see you in the comments 🙌 miss you 😔 😘
I wish I saw this 5 months ago before I started building a scale crawler. Might have to change direction on my project. Awesome sub’d
Glad to give inspiration to like minded peeps, this makes crawlers so much more fun to me, thanks for following along

Thanks for watching man
So much great information in one vid, thank you! And it's a stellar build, let's see a run vid soon!😎
Thanks for watching 👀, can't wait to get out and shredd
Nice build bud, I like it a lot. The enduro rigs are so versatile, im a solid axle guy so I run my rigs leaning heavier toward U4 but the IFS rigs have made huge leaps in the last 10 years. Real nice set up, I look forward to the running video.
True that, thanks for watching, if your into U4 stay tuned we got do e cool rigs planned

Speaking of chopping, it's Friday
Nice. Same hard body I’m going to do a build with. Plan is to make top removable and hood open.
Cool. It's a good body, glad this one was one piece compared to the rc4wd Toyota prerunner we did, it was a pain to do
Got it so put most of the wheight in the back to balance out to frame some that makes since now
CG is the key in weight balance, this is why trophy trucks and prerunners run 90 gallon fuel tanks with double spares ro get as much weight over the rear, hope this helped 👍
Sweet
Thanks for watching 👀
Nice suspensions! Amazing project! Chears from spain!
Thanks for watching, greeting from the USA 🇺🇸
Awesome build dude, congrats

Fantastic setup 🤩
It's a ripper, thanks for watching
Awesome setup 👌
Thanks for watching 👀 🙂
Looks great
Thanks for watching 👀 appreciate the support
I like to do mine with the bomber training arms they are a little longer but ride really smooth and so many versions to chose from
I see a lot of people using too long of a trailing arm and not utilizing motion ratios, I will have to check out some bomber arms and see what kind of geometry they are capable of, cool
Awesome video my man good stuff on the build.. the Bronco looks sweet great job thumbs up 👍
Thanks man, happy Friday
I built one very very similar but I put the ranger body with the prerunner flares over top of the gatekeeper cage, wish I could send you pics. I had a prob with major torque twist n the ifs skid taking digs n stopping the truck
The Gatekeepers Toyota prerunner works pretty good, step 1 ditch the stock shocks, of you post to Instagram you can tag me
Sick!

Nice work!
Just wondering how that Bronco body held up over the year, would you still recommend it?
I'm itching for that body after seeing how it looks mounted. Besides the flawed trim, I assume there's no point in bothering to put on the side mirrors as they would be the first parts to break off. haha. It looks great to me even though it's a shame about the shoddy warped trim, not much quality control there. I thought I'd run the same path as you, cut the lower body, not bother with the trim, and even make some primer patchwork.
It's a legit body besides thexwarped chrome. It's held pretty good. I would recommend it it still.
Doesn't the UDR utilize like inline "diffs" to account for torque twist? Would be tricky but would be absolutely badass to see something like that here
I payed eye to get it to torque twist 🤭
6:07 Don't just *slap* that battery; hit it with a hammer to be sure. :-P
Hammered, lol thanks for watching 👀
Sorry, just getting into your videos and trying to figure out if I was going to try and build something like this where to start.
I’m gonna check my local hobby shop, but I know element doesn’t sell the Enduro builder kit anymore .
Is a chassis or builder kit you would suggest starting with?
Would you just try and pick up frame rails and the basic chassis stuff for the Enduro trail runner?
The new element zuul 2 comes with their IFS 2 system. Seems like it would be a good platform, but I don’t necessarily want to spend $500 on an RTR if I’m gonna just tear it down and get rid of most the parts
This is a dilemma for sure. Radio and the receiver is a big one too. The way I would do it is get a Element Trailrunner on sale, you can get these for $299 and add the IFS v2. This is the cheapest way I can find to get a rig, roughly $399 RTR. You can find ebay rollers from time to time but it's hit and miss. Motor and ESC is the big upgrade, builders kits vs a RTR for $299? That $299 we will never see again once that sale ends. Hope this helps
@@DoubleClutchProductions thanks that’s helpful! I’ll keep my eye out!
After watching your videos I’m thinking it may be a good idea to pick up something like the new F150 Baja Ray and get a taste for this style of RC cars first before starting a complicated custom build.
Just get something that’s gonna run well.
I’m coming from onlydoing 1/18 scale and 24th scale crawlers.
I love the building and customizing aspect of doing crawlers. That’s why I was leaning towards trying to build a tree Runner. There is also something appealing to having something you know is gonna work😂
Thanks for all the help and advice! If you have any other thought that might be helpful I’m all ears.
@justinluczak5611 Thrre really is nothing out there than can compare to a crawler based off road truck that actually works. These drive very scale, almost too scale for people not into desert prerunners. Most prerunners can't compare to trophy trucks and I think people are confused by this. The best advise I can give is the baja rey is my favorite vehicle to drive. The fun part of these scale prerunners is making them actually work just like modifying a full size stock truck to run in the desert. These rc prerunners are not for the beginner builder but are the most rewarding to build because it's so deep in the habit hole. You have to be a fan of desert racing to get into 4 links. An Associated buggy or short course truck is a great entry way to enjoy off road too!
Excellent build. Can you share details on the suspension up front?
It's a element IFS rig, so the trail runner and knight runner come with IFS. Just like I said in the video it's just Baja Rey front shocks no mods.
@@DoubleClutchProductions Roger that...after further research I saw that. You've inspired me to build a pre runner
Vanquish sway bar is out of stock....as usual Vanquish is out of what I need
Right on man. Tag me when you fi ish 👍
Are the Baja Rey shocks up front the set for $100? I'm trying to find the shocks now.
@@reindalehill7713 idk, all the baj shock parts come seperate, use the baja rey manual to get the part#s
Is there someplace we can see some pictures of the build? I'm tryin to build up a 1/6th(ish) scale baja truck but I also need it to have some power and longer run time because I'm adding camera's and lights for FPV around my town...
My Instagram
Peep it
I purchased everything listed in your Baja Rey shock build video. Just curious which shocks did you run on the front here? It seems it has two different sizes, baja front and rear. I building the shocks this evening. When I put the Pro-Line shock in the rear I can't get the chassis level. I figured it's because I still have the stock element shocks upfront.
It's the front baja shocks, I have a lot of weight over the rear, battery, spare tire, and the hard body I have is heavy, make sure you have the green, green spring combo installed on the powerstrokes
@@DoubleClutchProductions Roger that. I'll confirm my rear shock setup
@@reindalehill7713 cool, just reply again if you have any other questions glad to help a bro out👍
@@DoubleClutchProductions Thanks a lot Bigg Dawg....about to bust these shocks out. What battery are you runnin?
11.1 5000 mah, all day broskie 😎
I have an axial scx10 and have swapped the rear to use trailing arms, but I’m still a kid and I can’t afford the ifs kit, any tips for parts and stuff? It’s about the same chassis as an element enduro. I have powestroke non xt but I’m also gonna move the shock down for more “travel” and the shock will be extended with pivitoballs from a vaterra crawler, piecing this thing together
Sounds cool man, tag me when you get further along so I can check it out
@@DoubleClutchProductions I’d love to!
Was really interested in doing this project myself.... But the ifs kit is discontinued......
Might be worth getting a trailrunner roller on Ebay. Good luck it's a shame when stuff like this goes away
@@DoubleClutchProductions I didn't even realize the trail runner had IFS suspension..... In the cart it goes. I was about to just pull the trigger on a Erevo instead
@@YouvBeenThumped glad we could help dude, good luck
@@DoubleClutchProductions Now just to spend $300 on extra parts so when I get it. I can tear it apart and learn how everything works. First RC car in like 10 years...

Could I use a enduro trailrunner for this or does it have different live axle setup
