- This is a quick comparison video that I threw together of Phantasy Star Online for the Dreamcast (upper left) PC (upper right) Xbox (lower left) and Gamecube (lower right). All 4 versions were recorded at their native 480p resolutions. The Dreamcast video is output via VGA box into a VGA2HDMI adapter. The PC is being ran on a Linux PC via WINE and a GTX760 graphics card and maximum graphic settings. The Xbox video is output via a Hyperkin "official" HDMI cable. The Gamecube video is output via a "HDMy Cube" HDMI adapter. All 3 console video is captured with a ClonerAlliance FlintLX capture device.

This is interesting to see. I played PSO Episodes 1 & 2 on the GameCube with my brothers since the port supported splitscreen. Great times.
Thanks for the comment. The best part is that you can still play this game online on all of these platforms.
looks best on Xbox and Gansolesmecube imo. Would be awesome to get this game back on modern consols!
I like this video alot, thank you
I would love to play this game again
You can, and it's very easy to do.
@@Gen6Gamer how mate? I've been thinking of just buying a gamecube to play it again. Or maybe an Xbox series x to emulate
@@SonGuruKirby There's so many options. If you want to play V2, you can play the PC version. I have a video tutorial on that, I also have a video on how to setup Dolphin emulator for the GC version. Do you use discord?
Dolphin emulador will be available in Steam soon
Cool!
need a mod to slow down load times on pc to see the cool effects haha
Blue Burst does that lol
some interesting changes between the XBOX/PC version and Dreamcast/GC version. The two biggest things I noticed is the FOV of the XB/PC version is much higher. However, the characters' shadows in GC/DC are fully rendered/animated while XB/PC just have a generic circle shadow. Also the UI was more stylized and animated in the GC/DC version too. Surprising to see that the "older" version actually had benefits compared to the newer one. I think I actually prefer it.
edit: The XB/PC version is also less stretched, making the characters a little more proportionate. It kinda helps the animations
