The platform by itself isnt complicated. There is certainly some room for improvement with their devOps but the bigger issue is the lack of qualified consultants supporting the projects. 80% of Salesforce consultants have no clue what they do and tank the projects bleeding customer money. This includes even the Big 4 and SF professional services.

Intelligent analysis of the variables for what makes Salesforce "complicated." I like how you started with the context and history. I appreciate how you took a balanced approach about what is within Salesforce's responsibility and what falls into the general complexity of an enterprise IT project.

Getting too complicated? That doesn't even scratch the surface. It's getting clunkier. Constant bugs. Severely lacking out of the box features like easy email or sms tools. Lacking easy user facing automation tools. Way too expensive. If you do want useful features you're paying INSANE prices for licensing. I've been admining for 4 years and I'm slowly losing faith in the system.

Agreed. Everything is an add-on. Basic stuff doesn't come out of the box, and they show that they absolutely do not care about any of this.

I am an admin for 5yrs. the tech market where I am is absolutely thrashed and now "Mid" levels are ridiculous for salesforce now, they are trying to merge mid level admins into a mix of also mid level biz analysis/project manager, semi mid sf dev, plus admin and plus mid level IT tech. which I understand in the past, having a broad knowledge of all those things was appreciated and not expected to varying levesl of degree. but now in what im seeing iwht interviews etc, the expectations to know 20+ different tools/tech outside of SF, a blend of expecting to know apex and Devop stuff, requiring legitimate business analysis and project management type experience, like yea as a an admin ive ran projects sure no problem but ive failed interviews because they expected me to know more the precise university methods/teachings of that stuff. maybe coz there's barely any

Absolutely ugly and boring to remember all the click-throughs within this software. I have worked as an Admin and was totally unimpressed with the look as well as convenience(or inconvenience I must say) in learning/use of Salesforce. You have to remember this boring UI to get simple tasks done. Got absolutely bored in just 3 months.

Salesforce is complete dogshit. I don’t know why anyone would buy it.
