  • The Irori fireplace in Senko-no-Ie, Sakai City, Fukui Prefecture, is always making a fire. It is not only warming people but also making hot water. It also has several other important roles. Charlotte from Australia experiences the Irori fireplace for the first time.

Hi, not sure if this fits with the particular idea behind your channel, but could you possibly make a video/series of videos about the layout and features of a traditional Japanese House? I think they are amazing, and love the way everything has a purpose, but is beautifully designed and crafted. Thanks.

Can anyone for the love of God explain why the house does not fill up with smoke?

The smoke goes right up through the thatch roof and these houses normally have a lot of open windows and doors
