An introduction to Casanova's autobiography 'History of My Life'

A ramble to promote and support reading History of My Life, the autobiography of Giacomo Casanova. Although Casanova's reputation as a seducer is essentially true and fair, it is only a part of his life, and I think it has unfairly eclipsed the other qualities he has: he was a literary genius, a fearless adventurer, a gifted diplomat and a fascinating individual. This is my first video to try to argue that you should give his autobiography a go.

I read it. It took me 4 months. It has affected me more than many literary works I have encountered. It is a wild ride. Don't forget the arm from the morgue and the "practical joke”. This bit of psychotic behaviour might have been leaked to the Inquisitors, causing the imprisonment.
