I have also heard it said that it would be the 73 years that Israel just celebrated and the remaining 7 will require strength to endure the tribulation, because of the labor and sorrow of that time. That would still make the end of the generation 80 years, but it would put the time for the rapture at 2021. Then the setting up of the Kingdom in 2028. Great video. I like your theory too. First let’s define things. When tribes are mentioned in the Bible, the subject is Israel. When Nations are mentioned, the subject is Gentiles. Who are the elect of the Bible? Israel. The Bible answers this: Isaiah 45:4 For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, 👈I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me. Isaiah 65:9 And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect 👈shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there. So we see Israel is God’s elect. Let’s look at Matthew 24 where this word shows up. So, we see that Jesus/Yeshua is addressing Israel here. In Matthew 24, all the symbolism of Israel is present so we know who he is talking about (fig tree, Judea, Sabbath, Temple). So, Israel is going to experience the things in Matthew 24. God will save a remnant as Noah and his family were sheltered in the ark (type of Israel - sheltered but goes thru tribulation). God will shelter this remnant from the enemy as many will recognize the antichrist when he desecrates the temple and will have to flee at a moments notice. The TRIBULATION is for the SALVATION of the JEWISH nation. God the Father takes Israel back post tribulation. The Gentile church marries Jesus/Yeshua and has been sheltered in heaven during this time.

The problem with calculating the length of a generation to see when Jesus will return is that Jesus never used the words "this generation" to refer to a lifespan. This is where both preterists and futurists get it wrong. There is another solution that is reasonable and that doesn't break scripture in any way. Back in the 80's I was told that Jesus would probably return before 1988. This obviously didn't happen, and of course that was disappointing... but life went on. Then one day I saw a taunting comment made by an atheist who claimed that Jesus prediction failed, you know, because the temple was destroyed and everything was supposed to happen "within a generation". Now of course I was aware of the standard answers to these kinds of problems, but that day I just felt like the whole "generation" thing seemed awkward - trying to push the generation along a slide rule, trying to guess the length of the generation, the fact that Jesus really seemed to be addressing the crowd in front of him.. and so on. I looked at the verse in question but I couldn't figure it out, so I put my Bible down and just uttered a short prayer to God to solve this for me. Then I picked up my Bible again and read the verse once again. This time the word "generation" just kind o stuck out, and then I understood. The word "generation" has two meanings, both in English, and in Greek. It can mean a lifespan, but it can also mean a strain, a people, a family, or something along those lines. I looked at other verses where Jesus used the words "this generation", "this perverse generation", "an evil and unbelieving generation" and so on, and noticed that they all were about the TYPE of generation, and not the length. Then I found the passage of scripture I was hoping to find. One only has to turn back a page from Matthew 24 to see how Jesus actually outlined what he meant by "this generation": “You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town. And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. Truly I tell you, all this will come on THIS GENERATION." There are a few interesting things to consider here: 1. "This generation" started at the dawn of mankind, when Abel was killed. 2 Jesus was speaking to the people in front of him. 3. He said "YOU" killed Zechariah, despite the fact that this event occured a few hundred years before any of them were alive. What does this prove? It proves that Jesus was talking to the people in front of him, calling them "this generation", and yet not necessarily speaking about a lifespan. So this is what I think Jesus meant by "this generation will not pass away before all these things will happen". What he is actually saying is that the destruction of the wicked is the last thing to occur on the escatalogical scale. And that is exactly what we see in the book of Revelation. The very last thing to occur before the new heavens and the new earth appear is the second death, when the wicked are thrown into the lake of fire. Recently I found out that there is a scholar who came to the same conclusion. He has published a book about it although I can't remember the title, but it's presented as a rebuttal of Preterism.

There is only one "Zechariah son of Berekiah" mentioned in scripture (Zechariah 1:1), and as far as I know he is the last martyr of the Old Testament scriptures, so it makes sense that Jesus would name the first martyr up to the last one.

@@Shiryone OK, thanks. I'm familiar with the argument concerning "ben" and so on, assuming as it does that the Zechariah in question is the one described in 2 Chronicles. I'm not convinced that he was, but since there is no way for us to prove it either way I'm not going to be dogmatic about it. However, I will leave you with one last objection and point out that according to Hebrews 7:11-16 Jesus was never to become a levitical high priest based on ancestry, but a high priest in the order of Melchizedek. Melissa, You are most probably being saved from a terrible fate. Once you go under the surgeon's knife there is no turning back. Your health will be destroyed. If not already, change to a plant-based diet and consider a juicing program for a while. Other than trauma incidents we should stay clear of the medical industry. I am no doctor but have suffered my own experiences which have changed my thoughts/ways on health.

Indeed, most of us watchers know of the Fig Tree from Matthew 24. There is another somewhat hidden verse in Hosea that further CONFIRMS Israel as THE Fig Tree. Thanks to modern technology matching word search features on Bible apps. Exciting time to be alive, to witness the unsealing process per Daniel. Hosea 9:10: I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness. I saw your fathers as the firstfruits ON THE fig tree in its first season. The symbolism is readily discernible: 1. Judaic fathers (Abraham, Jacob, Moses) = firstfruits 2. Fig Tree = is thus Israel Cliff notes summary: “I found Israel...the fig tree”
The idea of there being multiple trees that come forth is an interesting (and I believe valid) addition to the proper interpretation of the Parabel of the Fig Tree.
@Pioneering in Prophecy The entire point of the prophecy is that BOTH the good and the bad fig are planted, ie the Ashkenaz (Kenites) and the true tribe of Juda (and Benjamin) were planted at the same time... in 1948.
Critics claim this prophecy is not true because the tribulation didn't begin before May 14, 2021. HOWEVER, they have failed to take into account the fact that those who were born on May 14, 1948 did not have their first birthday until May 14, 1949. Therefore, (according to the figtree generation) I expect Christ to return to set up his kingdom on earth by May 14, 2029, which means we can expect the 7 year tribulation to begin sometime before May 14, 2022.
I think that this interpretation where there is a multilayer meaning for the word generation, seems to be the one that will fulfill the fullness of the prophetic word better than any of the others. A lot of prophecy teaching doesn't recognize that God can fulfill prophecy in a multitude of ways and often with a deeper richer multi faceted meaning. We should not see the word of God as ALWAYS limited to it's most simplistic and literalistic meaning, instead we should see his word as pregnant with profound meaning most of which will remain hidden until the time that God has ordained for it to make clear and unveiled.

I agree that the "generation" refers to the unbelieving jews from the time Jesus spoke the prophesy. "Shall not pass away..." means they will die when the time comes. The Lord God will put them to the sword (Isaiah 65:11-12), wherever they are.
Another interpretation might be clarified by the Fig Tree alluding to the tree that produced the fruit of The Fall, and the symbolic temporary covering of the fig leaves. Jesus' cursing of the tree, saying, "None eat of you again." at the occasion of Pesach is a prelude to His work on the cross.
The word “menorah” itself is supposed to derive from the Hebrew word for lamp (ner), as in “me-ner-ah”, but this does not fit (and seems to be a decoy to avoid its astrological origins) as the central syllable is correctly “nor” In the Hebrew word menorah and not “ner”, also the beginning and ending syllables in the word menorah “me-nor-ah” are never explained in the words actual meaning. The root words found in the word menorah will help reveal what the word actually means. Looking back to ancient Hebrew, the word for light is “orah”, which could explain the last part of “men-orah”, which is probably derived from the ancient root word “ora” (light). The word “ma’or” meaning “lights/shining” in Hebrew is derived from “mah’ora”, which means “moon as illuminator” (see ora-nge, aura). The first part of the word menorah is “men”, which could also be derived from the Hebrew root word “mem”, meaning “water/blood/moon/chaos”. There does not seem to be a connection here with the more modern Hebrew word for moon, “yare’ach” (xry), until you look at “ach” (x = kinsmen) since “acher” (rx) equals “men” (Strongs #0312). Therefore, we can say that menorah can mean: "the months numbered days". I agree with your interpretation of this parable. Good Biblical explanation. Remember Hosea 6:6. God desires our love and faithful intimacy of relationship more than burnt offerings. We don't have to be perfect but spiritually mature and pure in heart. Love is a verb. Jesus said you will know them by thier fruits. Jesus did lay out events to watch for in Mathew 24, Luke 21 and Mark 13. He warns us of false teachers, the beginning of sorrows. Then the spurious Messiah (Satan). So if we use 360 days God calendar system 360*80=28800 days 365*80=29200 days There's a 400 day difference.. wouldn't that mean we already passed this prophecy? By 400 days?
Using God’s calender system, seeing as the days are cut short for the elect, the rapture and tribulation would have to start on or before April 10th, 2027 for the Fig Tree Generation prophecy to still be in play, assuming we go the full 80 years.

I don’t believe in subtracting seven years from 2028 to get 2021, since we’re now past that time and I believe The Fig Tree Generation has to actually reach the 80 years. The bible says the days will be cut short for the elect. Using God’s calendar of 360 days a year for 80 years, that means the end times would have to start a short time before or on April 10th, 2027.

Going forward 80 years on God’s calendar like your first comment said would bring us to April 10th, 2027 if one year is 360 days instead of 365. All I’m reply to you and saying is that the generation is not over and didn’t finish in 2021. There is only 73 years that have passed from the May 14th, 1948 date. We have 7 more to go to reach 80.

I am not sure that people are getting this interpretation right on the "Fig Tree Prophecy" being the "birthday" of Israel in 1948, as they have all said. She is 73 now. I do think that Jesus would have us to see all the prophecies about Israel in unbelief being cut off, as he went through that with an actual tree. Unbelief gets people cut off. Plus he turns our focus to Daniel 2- and begin to understand rival kingdom; and the Tree in scripture ( in Psalms too) always has to do with people and a kingdom. In Daniel 2 and 7 there are pictures of a horrible rival (Green Mother Earth) gospel that seeks to replace Jesus the Christ and his kingdom, even his bride-heirs, with an Impostor Messiah, and impostor Kingdom, and an impostor Church, Babylon. I think the point of the prophecy of the Fig tree ( and Luke 21 peppers in and the OTHER TREES- Gentiles in unbelief) paired with Jews in unbelief as the progressive Satanic World Wide Kingdom rule of Man and the Devil, as we see in Revelation 12: 3-5. The rival impostor kingdom of cut off in unbelief humanity that bring forth a Transhumanists Pagan and Neo Communists Techno take over. I mean come on, friends, this is clearly what is happening and what Jesus means when he says when you see the Parable of the Fig tree, know that Summer [ Threshing floor of Daniel 2, Aka the Time of Jacob's Trouble is near. Well, we know that Zechariah says that 1/3 of Jews will repent in belief by the end of the T.O.J.Trouble, the Trib, they would be in tears and would fulfill with Jesus, the Feast of Atonement. ( I am skipping over Feast of Trumpets on purpose, though it has its place and its time of glorification for the bride heirs who were ready). (Keeping Christ's 2 commands) "On the last day", this was the same day Lazarus was resurrected as an example to the disciples (also why Messiah took a couple extra days in getting back to Lazarus to help him), he resurrected Lazarus on the last day, 364th day on Enochs calendar. We know this because if you follow the time factor, 14 days later Messiah was on the tree.(Jn11 into Jn12) Look what Mary said to Yeshua, Jn11 is great to read, but we see Mary was paying attention to what she was taught in Jn6:37-54. (12 hr/12hr day is the Spring Equinox and The 364th day) Now what Mary says to Christ: Jn11:24 Martha said to him, I know that he(Lazarus) shall rise again(resurrect) in the resurrection at(in) the last day, (But what about right now) This is not trumpets as Trumpets is not on the last day, so the body of Messiah resurrects on the last day, not Trumpets, The Trumpets: Numbers 10:2 make 2 silver trumpets (1st trumpet resurrects the body of Messiah , the 2nd silver trumpet blows and calls, rescues his people, the 12 tribes as mortals) Read 10:1-10. Numb 10:10 at the beginning of every month a trumpet blows. Then 14 days later on passover the 2nd silver trumpet blows and rescues the remnant of Judah and Ephraim, Zec14:4 - Yeshua puts his feet down on Mnt Olives and all judgment and the saving of his remnant (they will be saved as mortals- to have long lives, many children, etc the children of the Resurrection will not marry etc, Luk20:34-35. Does the bible tell us when all this occurs? Our marker is: The 2 witnesses stand to preach (not their own testimony), but the testimony of Christ. They will do this for 3 1/2 yrs, they will not do any healing or miracles like we would think, (satan at the same time and his crew will be doing all kinds of miracles Mt24), the 2 witnesses will bring plagues on Jerusalem and cause it not to rain...after their kairos time is up. The two witnesses are killed then 3 1/2 days later resurrected and called up hither, by a voice ( not a trumpet) They are first, then the dead in Messiah resurrect , then those that are alive and remain shall be called up(harpidzo-snatched up or raptured) all by the first silver trump. (This also shows that there is no pre-rapture, and there is no resurrection unless there is a rapture) The 7th trump is the 2nd silver, and it blows on Passover to rescue the remnant of Judah and Ephraim as mortals. I have also heard it said that it would be the 73 years that Israel just celebrated and the remaining 7 will require strength to endure the tribulation, because of the labor and sorrow of that time. That would still make the end of the generation 80 years, but it would put the time for the rapture at 2021. Then the setting up of the Kingdom in 2028. Great video. I like your theory too. Isaiah 65:9 And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect 👈shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.
So we see Israel is God’s elect. Let’s look at Matthew 24 where this word shows up.
Matthew 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's 👈sake those days shall be shortened. Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.👈.
So, we see that Jesus/Yeshua is addressing Israel here. In Matthew 24, all the symbolism of Israel is present so we know who he is talking about (fig tree, Judea, Sabbath, Temple). So, Israel is going to experience the things in Matthew 24. God will save a remnant as Noah and his family were sheltered in the ark (type of Israel - sheltered but goes thru tribulation). God will shelter this remnant from the enemy as many will recognize the antichrist when he desecrates the temple and will have to flee at a moments notice.
The TRIBULATION is for the SALVATION of the JEWISH nation. God the Father takes Israel back post tribulation. The Gentile church marries Jesus/Yeshua and has been sheltered in heaven during this time.

The problem with calculating the length of a generation to see when Jesus will return is that Jesus never used the words "this generation" to refer to a lifespan. This is where both preterists and futurists get it wrong. There is another solution that is reasonable and that doesn't break scripture in any way.
Back in the 80's I was told that Jesus would probably return before 1988. This obviously didn't happen, and of course that was disappointing... but life went on. Then one day I saw a taunting comment made by an atheist who claimed that Jesus prediction failed, you know, because the temple was destroyed and everything was supposed to happen "within a generation". Now of course I was aware of the standard answers to these kinds of problems, but that day I just felt like the whole "generation" thing seemed awkward - trying to push the generation along a slide rule, trying to guess the length of the generation, the fact that Jesus really seemed to be addressing the crowd in front of him.. and so on.
I looked at the verse in question but I couldn't figure it out, so I put my Bible down and just uttered a short prayer to God to solve this for me. Then I picked up my Bible again and read the verse once again. This time the word "generation" just kind o stuck out, and then I understood. The word "generation" has two meanings, both in English, and in Greek. It can mean a lifespan, but it can also mean a strain, a people, a family, or something along those lines.
I looked at other verses where Jesus used the words "this generation", "this perverse generation", "an evil and unbelieving generation" and so on, and noticed that they all were about the TYPE of generation, and not the length. Then I found the passage of scripture I was hoping to find. One only has to turn back a page from Matthew 24 to see how Jesus actually outlined what he meant by "this generation":
“You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town. And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. Truly I tell you, all this will come on THIS GENERATION."
There are a few interesting things to consider here:
1. "This generation" started at the dawn of mankind, when Abel was killed.
2 Jesus was speaking to the people in front of him.
3. He said "YOU" killed Zechariah, despite the fact that this event occured a few hundred years before any of them were alive.
What does this prove? It proves that Jesus was talking to the people in front of him, calling them "this generation", and yet not necessarily speaking about a lifespan.
So this is what I think Jesus meant by "this generation will not pass away before all these things will happen". What he is actually saying is that the destruction of the wicked is the last thing to occur on the escatalogical scale. And that is exactly what we see in the book of Revelation. The very last thing to occur before the new heavens and the new earth appear is the second death, when the wicked are thrown into the lake of fire.
Recently I found out that there is a scholar who came to the same conclusion. He has published a book about it although I can't remember the title, but it's presented as a rebuttal of Preterism.
The "Zachariah" that was killed was John the Baptist's father, is it wasn't hundreds of years prior. But you have a good argument.

There is only one "Zechariah son of Berekiah" mentioned in scripture (Zechariah 1:1), and as far as I know he is the last martyr of the Old Testament scriptures, so it makes sense that Jesus would name the first martyr up to the last one.

Zechariah was the high priest at the time he was murdered, which made John the next high priest in line, and at his death it allowed Jesus to become rightful high priest and King. Either way, I appreciate the dialogue. We will keep searching the Scriptures, like the Bereans, until His return.
@@Shiryone OK, thanks. I'm familiar with the argument concerning "ben" and so on, assuming as it does that the Zechariah in question is the one described in 2 Chronicles. I'm not convinced that he was, but since there is no way for us to prove it either way I'm not going to be dogmatic about it.
However, I will leave you with one last objection and point out that according to Hebrews 7:11-16 Jesus was never to become a levitical high priest based on ancestry, but a high priest in the order of Melchizedek.

Melissa, You are most probably being saved from a terrible fate. Once you go under the surgeon's knife there is no turning back. Your health will be destroyed. Critics claim this prophecy is not true because the tribulation didn't begin before May 14, 2021. HOWEVER, they have failed to take into account the fact that those who were born on May 14, 1948 did not have their first birthday until May 14, 1949. Therefore, (according to the figtree generation) I expect Christ to return to set up his kingdom on earth by May 14, 2029, which means we can expect the 7 year tribulation to begin sometime before May 14, 2022.

I think that this interpretation where there is a multilayer meaning for the word generation, seems to be the one that will fulfill the fullness of the prophetic word better than any of the others. A lot of prophecy teaching doesn't recognize that God can fulfill prophecy in a multitude of ways and often with a deeper richer multi faceted meaning. We should not see the word of God as ALWAYS limited to it's most simplistic and literalistic meaning, instead we should see his word as pregnant with profound meaning most of which will remain hidden until the time that God has ordained for it to make clear and unveiled.

I agree that the "generation" refers to the unbelieving jews from the time Jesus spoke the prophesy. "Shall not pass away..." means they will die when the time comes. The Lord God will put them to the sword (Isaiah 65:11-12), wherever they are.
Another interpretation might be clarified by the Fig Tree alluding to the tree that produced the fruit of The Fall, and the symbolic temporary covering of the fig leaves. Jesus' cursing of the tree, saying, "None eat of you again." at the occasion of Pesach is a prelude to His work on the cross.

The word “menorah” itself is supposed to derive from the Hebrew word for lamp (ner), as in “me-ner-ah”, but this does not fit (and seems to be a decoy to avoid its astrological origins) as the central syllable is correctly “nor” In the Hebrew word menorah and not “ner”, also the beginning and ending syllables in the word menorah “me-nor-ah” are never explained in the words actual meaning. The root words found in the word menorah will help reveal what the word actually means.
Looking back to ancient Hebrew, the word for light is “orah”, which could explain the last part of “men-orah”, which is probably derived from the ancient root word “ora” (light). The word “ma’or” meaning “lights/shining” in Hebrew is derived from “mah’ora”, which means “moon as illuminator” (see ora-nge, aura).
The first part of the word menorah is “men”, which could also be derived from the Hebrew root word “mem”, meaning “water/blood/moon/chaos”. I agree with your interpretation of this parable. Good Biblical explanation. Remember Hosea 6:6. God desires our love and faithful intimacy of relationship more than burnt offerings. We don't have to be perfect but spiritually mature and pure in heart. Love is a verb. Jesus said you will know them by thier fruits. Jesus did lay out events to watch for in Mathew 24, Luke 21 and Mark 13. He warns us of false teachers, the beginning of sorrows. Then the spurious Messiah (Satan). He shortened this time of Jacob's trouble for his elects sake. Satan will be playing Savior and many who don't have a intimate relationship with God and a love for his word will be taken (2 Thessalonians 2:9-10). Again, God is a geleous God and demands loyalty and Fidelity. We prove our love by remaining in him, by producing spiritual fruit and loving others. And our actual testimony against Satan and his miracles. Jesus declares that he will use his elect to give a testimony against Satan (Mark 13:9-12)(Luke 21:12-18)(Revelations6:9)(Revelations11:7). Remember Mathew 25 (The parable of the 10 virgins) is a continuance of the same context of Mathew 24. We are to be fruitful. Good fruit produces good oil. Those who fall away from truth and get caught up in the cares of this world will not have oil left in their lamps to take that midnight lamp light walk with Jesus when he returns as our Groom. Using God’s calender system, seeing as the days are cut short for the elect, the rapture and tribulation would have to start on or before April 10th, 2027 for the Fig Tree Generation prophecy to still be in play, assuming we go the full 80 years.

I don’t believe in subtracting seven years from 2028 to get 2021, since we’re now past that time and I believe The Fig Tree Generation has to actually reach the 80 years.
The bible says the days will be cut short for the elect. Using God’s calendar of 360 days a year for 80 years, that means the end times would have to start a short time before or on April 10th, 2027.

I am not sure that people are getting this interpretation right on the "Fig Tree Prophecy" being the "birthday" of Israel in 1948, as they have all said. She is 73 now.
I do think that Jesus would have us to see all the prophecies about Israel in unbelief being cut off, as he went through that with an actual tree. Unbelief gets people cut off. Plus he turns our focus to Daniel 2- and begin to understand rival kingdom; and the Tree in scripture ( in Psalms too) always has to do with people and a kingdom.
In Daniel 2 and 7 there are pictures of a horrible rival (Green Mother Earth) gospel that seeks to replace Jesus the Christ and his kingdom, even his bride-heirs, with an Impostor Messiah, and impostor Kingdom, and an impostor Church, Babylon.
