    That’s crazy your son went to Hawaii, I just went to Maui about a month ago lol, love your videos Chuck, been watching your Chanel for about a month or so now. I’ve been doing plumbing for about two years now, I’m glad I chose it as a career, it’s nice to see people like you who truly love it.

    I install those filters all day. If in a pinch you can remove the top oring off the silver filters too bypass. Not sure if you noticed but the coke filters were just big carbon filters and ice had an S at the end indicating scale inhibitor. You flush them for 5 minutes too get air out and activate carbon. Good stuff CB!

    Yea, I had a leak this week on an un-pressed fitting in a water filter. Thankfully, I was right there and corrected it, but very easy to over look a fitting not pressed. I've also given up on CB2 giving us an enthusiastic "satisfied customer ending".

    Cool. I would put another shutoff on the copper side and a shut off after the filter. 2 valves before, 1 after. Ultimate. I would also put a drain upstream of the filter, to drain the pipe; progress or not

    • @MrTooTechnical
      @MrTooTechnical 5 років тому +1

      And for portable water, I never use dope as it leaches into the water. Liability. Even dope is okay for water, it will say not to ingest. For those filters, Teflon tape only please. Thx.

    Cb try flushing each filter indiviually if you can one of them is probably plugged, hopefully the unit came with a bypass insert to put in place of the the filter to find out which one of those filters is plugged... the carbon probably just got plugged at the top of the filter before it exits, try taking it off and shaking it to possibly dislodge the build up of carbon at the end of the run. Also next time try turning on the inlet valve on "slowly" until the filters and housing is fully primed (to prevent pushing the carbon media to the top of the filter).

    Hey chuck great install.
    How come CB strolls in whatever time he pleases , needs to learn timekeeping & be more proactive with you & anticipate what you need as in tools you're likely to use so your ready for the next bit your doing, I hardly ever see him ask you questions as to why your doing it this way or that way & you always explain really well. You'd make a great teacher & always give good advice to CB 2
    He needs to step up now have his own tools or build up a kit so you can both work at the same time .

      I much like you have been plumbing for 42 years now man & boy & some if your jobs you've done as in the crawl space one with the burst pipes in plastic made me think " glad I'm not the only one " who gets those type of shitty jobs !
      Pro press isnt as common in the smaller jobs over here more larger sites as in new build & the machines cost about £1000 so can't warrant that at the mo , alot of new build jobs are all plastic now 10mm supplies to the rads so hardly any coppper at all so keeps sludge to a minimum in heating systems .

      No need to do that. Everpure filter systems have a bleeding valve on the outlet side so when you install new filters you can bleed out a few buckets before letting it go to source.

    @ 11:44 where are the damned 45 degree fittings/////////////
    or are they pushing the magical "speed" install so badly they have no etiquette left? the more I see and see and deal with the trash, the less I like it ;)
    it;s super reminding me of QUEST aka PolyButylene... best suggestion when you see it, full abandonment and re-plumb... want it done cheap?, run all new lines and box it in... across ceiling floors through cabinets etc....

    • @joshm5816
      @joshm5816 5 років тому +1

      Pex doesn't make a 45°. You can use Uponor and a heat gun and make almost any degree turn. Time is money and plumbing is highly competitive.

    • @ChuckBarron
      @ChuckBarron  4 роки тому

      negative on the repipe

    • @joshm5816
      @joshm5816 4 роки тому

      Also you can not compare Poly pipe to pex. Poly was rushed to the market by the Shell corporation without the product being tested, and that's why there were so many problems they didn't know about like the plastic fittings aluminum rings and that the chlorine in city water deteriorates Poly pipe. PEX on the other hand has been out for a long time. It was used in Europe 20 years before it was introduced to America. The only issues with pex are the zurn pex fittings and the de-zincification of the fittings depending on water conditions and some pex pipe will suffer pin hole leaks on a hot water return loop line if a hot water expansion tank isn't installed on the circulation system on the hot return line. I've been Plumbing for almost 22 years and I can say from watching Chuck's videos that he is a great plumber which in this day and age is hard to find. All great plumbers don't mind constructive criticism but your trolling comments are unnecessary and borderline narcissistic. Hope you have a wonderful holiday season.
