I think, the vintage Sony holds up pretty well.

After I replaced transistor Q303 and lifted the leg up on L302 resistor my 2001D was so much more sensitive than the Qodosen.
Isn't L302 an RF choke (part of a hi-pass filter) and not a resistor? From what I have read the main impact of lifting this choke is on the upper part of the AM broadcast (Medium Wave) band and not the shortwave bands.
Is the rf amplifier activated on the qodosen?
