“If you want to change the world, you must first change yourself.” It’s a cliché and it’s true! But changing yourself is no simple task in the face of death, divorce, depression, self-harm, and war. In 2002, Sadhvi Siddhali Shree enlisted in the California Army National Guard looking for discipline, and instead found herself training to shoot & kill strangers. Today, she’s an Iraq-war combat veteran, Jain monk, and teacher of non-violence. In this talk, she’ll teach you why and how to practice non-violence in your life. Sadhvi Siddhali Shree is the first North American Jain female-monk, a US Army Iraq-war veteran, an international speaker, author, activist, and an award-winning filmmaker. Her first documentary is STOPPING TRAFFIC: The Movement to End Sex Trafficking (2017) and her second documentary is SURVIVING SEX TRAFFICKING, which will be released in March 2022. Driven by her deep-seated devotion to humanity, she uses her talents and skills to raise awareness about violence in the world and ways to change it. She serves as the Spiritual Director of Siddhayatan Tirth & Spiritual Retreat based near Dallas, Texas and is executive director of Stopping Traffic, a non-profit organization which supports survivors of sex trafficking. Sadhvi Siddhali Shree is passionate about social movements that focus on non-violence, human rights, gender equality, and anti-trafficking. She is currently working on a spiritual memoir. I'm a *PROUD JAIN* myself. But, I am Not Against fighting Wars for the sake of defending our country, people, family, and friends. As a *Proud Jain,* I strongly believe that, we should "never, ever initiate violence from our end." But, if a war has been waged against us and our country, then, as JAINS, it is our Prime Duty to defend ourselves and our country, by fighting, defeating, and *destroying* our enemy's troops. As a Jain, I strongly believe that, Non-Violence and Violence should be SUBJECTIVE to each situation. If a problem can be solved without violence, then, *we must avoid violence !* But if a certain problem cannot be dealt with Non-Violence, then, as a Jain, *I would NOT hesitate to use violence* to solve that problem. Because, "we cannot let injustice take place in society, in the name of Non-Violence" *!!* Last but not the least, we must never forget that historically, and in Reality, *many Jain Kings* have fought wars and Won wars against other Kingdoms, during necessary times. So, the conclusion is: *"a True Jain doesn't believe in an offensive violence."* But, a True Jain surely believes in *"Defensive Violence"* !!
    *JAINISM FOREVER* 👍👍😊🙂

@@intellectualendeavors7194 JAINISM allows violence in Self Defense !! And, *there were Kings who were born as Jains from birth. And, yet, they have fought wars to defend their kingdoms !* Go learn about *King Kharavela, King Amoghavarsha, Rani Abbakka Chowta, and King Samprati Maurya !!* These were Jains from birth, till their death. But, *even though they were Jains, they fought wars and defeated all their enemies.* So, this is the FACT !! Violence is a necessary tool for survival in this world. The concept of *100% Ahimsa in this world* is really foolish, and many Jains need to grow up in regards to this matter.

It's certainly better in some ways. But yes, plants scream when their leaves or roots are ripped out.
True Jain monks only eat fruits, nuts, seeds, pollen, nectar, etc.. which plants give freely and regenerate.
I personally eat eggs and milk too if the animals are treated well.
All matter is animus though, internal microstate buzzing is the E=mc^2. So even a rock is alive but just doesn't have many degrees of freedom in space or time, it's low entropy/energy from human macrostate slice

@@NAKULJOSHI-zi2le Hinduism was assembled in 1856 AD by Britishers using 1000s of cults, factions, offshoots, tribal, regional systems. - Hinduism is a foreign word. Sanatan was another name given to barbaric vedic practices of manuvadi by removing practices like Deu Dasi, animal sacrifice, dalitism, Sati system, female genocide etc. it was done by people like Vivekananda and Ramakrishna Paramhans, so Sanatan dharma is just 100 years old approximately while yoga, spiritualism, ayurveda, ahimsa stolen, copied, and appropriated from Jain system, including many recent gods renamed from Jain temples of indigenous people.💯🙌

@@NAKULJOSHI-zi2le Sanatan dharm is created by Vivekananda recently to revive barbaric vedic practices. It is offshoot of Jainism, as they copied ahimsa, Yoga, Spirtualism, Vegetarianism, meditation, Karma from it, to hide their original practices like Animal Sacrifice, devdasi system, yagna, Homa, Widow burning, casteism, dalitism, untouchability and oppression. Now new name" Sanatan" is given to Saivism/ vaishnuism/ Vedic/brahiminic/ Hinduism/ Aghori and other cults to improvise the past practices. But still one religion cannot have ahimsa and Animal sacrifice in same religion (self contradictory philosophy on doctrines)!!!! Same way Yoga and Yagna/ havan do not go together. So is Spiritualism-harma and offerings-appeasing gods. Now efforts are made to erase Jainism under the banner of Sanatan (revived Hinduism). though Sanatan was just born in the era of Vivekanda and swaminarayan. Besides hinduism word iteself is a foreign word and it is more to do with geographical identity.💯🙌🙄
