United's first visit to the Darlington Arena ended in disappointment as they went down 2-0 to extend their winless run to six games. Ryan Valentine took advantage of a defensive mix-up to give the home side the lead after 26 minutes and Barry Conlon added a second 19 minutes from time. Oxford remained in the final play-off place, though their gap to eighth place was cut to just a single point.
