- This unique Casa do Penedo located in Central Portugal was orginaly built as a defense castle tower by the Moorish somehere betweern the 8th and 9th century. After that it took on many rolls, like a religieus place, one of the first government buildings in the region and tourist accomadation. Ofcourse it has now been classified as a monument. It has been completely renovated by the owner who is an architect, who was able to maintain the strong spirit and energy of the house.
Rui Vasques, has been living in Casa do Penedo for the past 1,5 years with is girlfriend Laura (who now is a abroad for while) and their dog Madragoa. If you want to know more about Rui's organisation Live With Earth, you can visit the website here www.livewithearth.org/

I'm in a bar on subtitles only, but the fire song had my daughter, Maia, falling off her stool with laughter, wondering if you'd be gullible enough to fall for it too. I was disappointed in the lack of a dungeon till the end when he opened up the oubliette.
Maia says if nothing is heard from you for a while, she'll arrange a rescue.

Casa de Ponedo is amazing! and Rui gave a pretty thorough & informative tour. He has a nice singing voice.
That amazing structure seems impermeable by the threat of fires, too. It is well made to keep cool in the blazing hot summers but still cozy in the freezing winters. Amazing rehabilitation of the structure. Is it rentable? It'd be so cool to stay there. Wow.
I agree with you! The owner is an arcitect and I think he did a great job with it. It used to be available for short term rental, but now it has longterm renters living there. 😁

So sad to know that it is his last day in the house. Very amazing place and the story behind the old house. A lot of stories and secrets to be known.
