Rem stands for Remote. A remote switch for your amp, to turn it on with ignition accessories. It's also good practice to keep your signal cables away from the power, like running the speaker and power cables on opposite sides of the car, to prevent the noise of the power sending signal through the coating in the speaker audio wires. I used to have a car with power and signal on the same side, and whenever i did a pull, it sounded like i had a turbo coming through the speakers. Since you have a WRX, you probably don't want that lol. Good vid though, keep it up
🤣 thanks for the insight. I’m actually going to be redoing the wiring here soon when I redo the sub box. Will definitely take your advice and do it that way this second time around!
Have a good ground too, I like to use one of the rear seat belt bolts 🔩. goes into decent metal & sturdy. can crimp on a ring terminal with a big hole to fit around that bolt.

make custom baffles! I did for my bug eye fronts.. worked out well. then you can fit a speaker possibly with a bigger basket/magnet and do some sound deadening while you're there!

I used a thick hard plastic sheet, but wood can also work. if you have access to a router, can be good to make nice circles

What were the connections on the head unit ? 3 sets of rcas or 2 sets
If I remember correctly the only RCA’s were the two that went back to the amplifier for the subwoofer, otherwise everything was just wire connections that needed to be tied together and it was 2 plugs
I have the same car and the same speakers and I just replaced them they sounded like shit..i just out some JBL in 6 in in the front and made the 4 inch to the 5 inch in the back thinking of putting some 6×9 or something in the back
Would 6.5 fit in front and rear
6.5” does fit in the front but I’m pretty sure the largest the rear can fit is 5.25” but it’s snug, you could also buy a 6.5” set for the front and test fit in the rear before ordering the rear, I think it’s mostly just if the windows will roll down is the problem and the depth of the hole
