    Thank you Paul, for having Gary enlighten us. Gary's knowledge from a lifetime of experience is mind boggling. Who else knew that "potting soil" was designed for plants that die in 5 months?

    So happy to see a new video from Gary! I'm looking forward to Spring this year as I transplanted nearly 100 berries and fruit trees that were potted in potting soil...and NOT thriving. Thank you, Gary!

    If I were a nurseryman with all that experience and knowledge, I'd have to get used to and enjoy sharing knowledge with the average customer who will ask questions about things that are so second nature. On the other hand, it might be fun to educate people about plants and impart your knowledge with them and to share ideas you may have with how they can not only care for them but organize them into their landscape or their home.

    I don't live in the US, so I can't buy Garys Acid Mix. Do you happen to know the recipe for it? Is it just equal parts of Pumice & Peat?

    Paul I have one 20gal pot that I used happy frog with extra vermiculite & perlite. The cuttings have been going 2 months now, they are finally starting to see growth. Im torn between repotting with Gary’s top pot formula or leaving it alone, at least till after next bloom. Should I disturb/stress them by repotting again. I only water 1 wk atm and in the 20gal pot it’s more like 10days. 60% humidity

    Can dragon fruit tolerate salt in the soil?

      @WhatPlantisthatPaul  2 роки тому +1

      They are tougher than most expect... I wouldn't plant it next to the ocean, but they tolerate different soil types in my experience, as long as the soil is well draining and not fill of dead, ground up trees.

    I don’t believe everything Gary says about avocado growth from other than Brokaw nurseries. I know I’ve been to a few in Fallbrook the bigger ones that crazy Gary buys from and ask the workers how old are their avocado trees. The 5 gallon are 1 year after grafting the 15 gallon are late the second year. When people start trying to sell you their product beware. At Maddock the 5 gallon pots have more organic matter the 15 have more rock based materials. You can dig in the pots and see it. Also the weight is incredibly more. The 15 gallon are close to 100 pounds
