I'm sure the plaincrash sequence was a reference to "Uruguayan air force flight 571" Maybe you have seen the movie about it and this episode reminded you of it.
@@EversPrimeTime you should 100%. first season's a little slow, but holy shit. no other piece of media has ever made me feel the way the view from halfway down did.
There's so much of a backstory to what Morty went through, that wasn't even originally part of the episode. The writers didn't have enough stuff to fill the length of an episode, so they just fit in an entire parody to a movie based off a real tragedy of a plane crash from some sport event
Yup!! They had runtime to kill so they let the animators and music dept have at it, ergo no dialogue during the sequence. The plane crash bit is a riff on the movie Alive which is based on an actual plane crash in the Andes mountains. An entire soccer team was on board. A few survived by eating the dead and getting to the other half of the plane which from there they were able to call for help. Suuuuper tragic shit. Good movie tho. I saw it in theaters as a kid. IDK why they took me to that… super not kid appropriate.
Have you seen the movie 'Alive'? The whole surviving a plane crash on a mountain top and having to eat the bodies of the dead was parodied in this episode.
@@EversPrimeTime Yeah it was a true story. A South American soccer team crashed int he mountains and had to eat the bodies of the deceased to survive. Eventually a group of the strongest managed to hike down the mountain and get help. There is a book and a movie.
This episode was the second episode to win an Emmy, after Pickle Rick. And yes, it is my favorite in Season 4 :) although it's a close call. That's all I'll say ;) Edit: one of my favorite parts is when you think back to Rick killing Morty, he killed himself with the device too.
"He was so comfortable shooting Morty. What if it didn't work?," if he look closely he actually didn't kill Morty there. He just stunned him, you can see him breathing.
Rick doesn't kill Morty with the gun. Look closely at Morty. He's breathing. Rick Sanchez is one petty s.o.b, though, to put Morty through all that just because Morty had a legit gripe about a truly bad idea.
Hard to say, it was a gift. Searching "wooden alarm clock wireless charger" on Amazon though gets you close, but not quite the model I have, which is like...8(?) years old at this point. Hope this help!
Have you seen the 1993 movie Alive? It's based on a true event when a plane crashed in the Andes and how the survivors tried to stay alive until help arrives. (The real event was much worse than depicted in the movie.) It's been referenced, spoofed and parodied many times, so maybe you've seen any of those?
@@EversPrimeTime actually wait I forgot about the finale lol. Okay, second best episode. Get ready for that finale it's a lot of Canon, serious and fast-paced shit so don't do that thing where you laugh and look away from the screen for a few seconds 😂
THE VAT OF ACID EPISODE. Is this your favorite episode of season 4?
Absolutely
It is in my top 3 or 4 of all episodes so far.
In my overall top 3
Yes
Yes!
I had the same exact reaction when Jerry hit the Do Over button. I just sat there stunned.
I just...yep.
This is the gem of season 4. Prob a top 5 episode of all time imo. Creative, hilarious, and no incest is great.
Imagine a funny episode with no incest? 😂 Yeah it's a top one for sure!

There is the SLIGHTEST chance I've seen the movie or a sequence, but it doesn't ring any bells!
This was an award winning episode. I remember being upset because I really wanted Bojack to win especially it being their last season.
I'll always be a little bitter about BoJack never winning that Emmy. Masterpiece show.
I keep hearing about how amazing Bojack is, I may have to eventually watch it

It's the crash of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571
I kind of want to check out the movie this event was made of. I still don't know if that's why it feels familiar. But this does help!
Just when it seems like the show might be on the back end, they drop an absolute classic like this one and all is right with the world again.
Absolutely incredible episode :D
This episode won an Emmy. Definitely one of my favs.
For good reason!
This has gotta be in most people's top 5 episodes list.
