Thr original has been recorded in a interview way : daft punk ask him to come in the studio and to tell them his story. They recorded the whole dialog and then mix it with music (played by real musicians too!) and created this masterpiece!
@@MrJulien29yep! Plus the original interview was about half an hour long (can be found on UA-cam somewhere) and he had no idea how they’d use it for the song.
I think Giorgio mainly doesn't want to disappoint the crowd. He clearly has made many many lives before, but this was more "constructed" than that... that being said, his band was indeed incredible!
maybe Knödel to be precise 😏 he is Italian but from. South Tyrol... so not cooking spaghetti like me...but other delicious recipes from his mountain... the Dolomites.
In an interview he said...when daft punk was talking to him about his life and all...he thought they will use his voice and do something like remixing it into a song..but when he actually listened to the song he got amazed on how they used the actual interview into the song.
I play this on my vinyl nearly every week and the other day I saw my 7 yo jumping on trampoline and saying to his mates, "my name is Giovanni Giorgio, but everyone calls me Giorgio" ... and started acting of drum hits. LOVED IT !! Music Talks !!
This was incredible. The whole time I was wondering what would happen when they get to those sick drum patterns at the end of the track, and damn if my man in the band didn’t just CRUSH it
Yeah I think we forget the amazing things professional musicians are capable of. Sure a computer can do anything you want it to do but people are amazing.
This performance, and this track and this album, are incredible. I'm 57. Some of my earliest and fondest childhood memories are listening to disco music from the 70's that my older cousins played, when I was growing up in a relatively small town in India, and Giorgio Moroder was high in the list. If anyone has not heard the album "From Here to Eternity" by Moroder is missing out, big time. This track is so special to me for so many reasons, I cannot explain it. Suffice to say that great music is eternal, art is indestructible, and love is omipresent. Rock on in peace, world.
Я из России, но точно так же, - мне 58, и мы с вами слушали одно и то же в молодости! Мне было сложно добывать такую музыку, живя в СССР... Но, тем не менее, я её добывал через все преграды, потому что её любил!
Dude yes, he was incredible. And the flautists playing all those fast, electronic-sounding notes. All of them, what a great ensemble and great performance.
I got incredibly emotional watching this. Yes, I had a few drinks, but it proves that this song is incredible as not only a superb piece in a great album, but as a live piece of music it's fantastic. I just wish I could have been in the studio when they were recording Giorgio when he was telling his story.
Every version of this is perfect. No matter whether the story is exactly the same, or the instruments, or the timing. It's a real, human story. It's a connection.
Wow! This performance made my day! I’ve thought about it many times that it would be so cool to do this piece with a live orchestra, but I never thought anyone would have the guts to do it! And then to do it really well!! Hats off. Congrats. 🙌🏼

Que orgullo que le hagan todos estos tributos cuando aun esta vivo , Moroder es el padre de la Música Electrónica y el Italo disco y esta muy bien estos homenajes hacia el como muestra de cariño y afecto por la música que invento la mas expandida del mundo .
Daft punk will always be an extremely important group to me for a long time. But one of them is that the story of my dad and Giorgio are extremely similar. My dad was a DJ in his youth, that allowed him to play and work In a nightclub in Acapulco, Mexico in the 80s that nightclub was called baby 'o And it's not just another nightclub and that's it, no. It was the pinnacle of disco music. Great Mexican and Latin American artists like Luis Miguel came to play and sing there. So many years later in 2013, when I was less than 15 years old, I asked my dad after dinner "have you met Giorgio?"Obviously it wasn't expected that someone from '98 would know him but I owe it all to Daft Punk.So yeah, basically my dad is a Mexican Giorgio. His knowledge of music borders on the exaggerated in good That also allowed me to develop a great taste for music.
I'm sorry, but I have to swear. That was FUCKING unbelievably amazing. I never thought I'd see this been played live and with the man himself telling his story. I've got fucking goosebumps all over. What have I just witnessed? Is this... perfection? GODDAMN
When you see Adam Betts, you know it's ON. Made me dig up the Timeless (Goldie) performance w/ Natalie Duncan and Heritage Orchestra. Thanks for sharing!
It's like this vibrant energy is pushing on my heart, it's like I'm running and there's something incredible, unspoken, and meaningful just an inch past my reach, this will always be a phenomenal work.
I discovered this song yesterday while driving to San Francisco. Chills, literally chills. And what a great performance! ❤ 6:00 to 7:00 is just something else.
I would be in tears if I saw this live. It's such a beautifuly crafted song. So much talent went into composing it and just as much went into playing here.
I love that he's not just reading a script, but actually telling the story. And the band is extending the groove to give him time to finish.

It took a lot of musicians and instruments to emulate Giorgio's sound!
Funny that Giorgio is so shy and unsure telling his story 😅 His band are truly killers, just nailed it, extremely cool!
