The grading companies are very harsh on the hologram...when I saw the first sub of that Griffey card I thought they may have called it altered cause it was missing so much of the hologram. They really need to tell you why something is altered.
That was my thinking as well. Weird logic though cuz who would take off some of the hologram? that only hurts the grade. I really do wish PSA would explain why they declare something altered 👍

Great video as always. I’m beginning to lean away from PSA. Yes, 10s sell for a premium, but when they are under grading cards, 10s are less likely. Compare the prices for PSA 9s to SGC 9.5s and 10s. Compare an SGC 9 to a PSA 7-8. That’s where the real price comparison should be

Yes 👍 I feel that since acquisition I’ve noticed a gradual tightening of grading standards. SGC used to grade a lil more on eye appeal, and now I feel they’re more rigid to guidelines.
you think that gold MJ is getting a 9 with PSA? It deserves a 6 or lower...8 or 8.5 for the l/r centering, and then dock a couple more points for the ugly fisheye
Good video and I enjoy seeing your crack-outs and reveals! Looks like SGC has far more accurate grades than PSA from these examples. Of all the crack outs, you got a bump in all of them or none went down? The LeBron at 7:20 seems like an accurate .5 bump but it was still placed in the "meh" pile since it didn't get a 10. Seems totally fair to me. That hologram being missing on the Griffey is the junk wax equivalent of paper loss in vintage. LOL It's a big knock to the card and makes sense to me as well.
Have your dcsports cards been pretty upgradable lately? I haven’t had a single card I thought would be a 10 in last 100 cards I got from them. Maybe I’m too strict on my own cards? Any chance you can make a video on what flaws are allowed to qualify for 8,9, and 10s?
I have noticed my dcsports orders have been pretty ungradable lately :( Worse than usual. It’s good to be strict on your cards 🤙 And I like that video idea…I’ll see if I can make one early in the new year. Happy holidays!
what a crazy overgrade. BUt definetly not first I've seen from them. On the Vince there does look to be a dimple on the front to the left of his calf so that might have added to the one on the back. Fun reveals none the less!

I am constantly seeing SGC fans on various forums insist that SGC grades tougher than PSA does, but I swear that every time that I see real-world situations like this, the PSA grades are almost always the same or lower.
Remember grading is about "declared value" now "insurance". You're not getting a 9 or a 10 if the value of that grade is worth more than $150 if you paid $15 for it to be graded.
@@JJBreezy40 listen uay have unlocked da link I gotta use ya strategy this go round for declare value both psa n sgc ..cause I'm sending mlb to sgc cause of the quicker turnaround

I only use sgc and I agree my last sub was a wtf order. I just sent 8 more cards will see how it goes they will not gem a t.j mconnell it dont matter if its a perfect condition all the way around. Its a 9.5 everytime .

I don’t get grading companies man the fisheye on that Jordan literally would ruin a card for me at least and it gets a 9 and the way nicer looking ones with the tiniest imperfections got lower grades. Crazy to see good video as always though

I'm sorry -- SGC gives out way too many soft grades...for that gold MJ to get a 9 is laughable, with that huge fish eye and the not good l/r centering...I guess you could stop submitting to PSA if your goal is to get higher grades, as SGC surely will give you some ugly higher grades

Sometimes I purposely lower the declared value. So I might get better grades

Why would you grade the griffey if you thought it was an 8. is it worth it at that grade?
Easier to sell slabbed up. And cuz PSA said it was altered, I was really curious what SGC thought 👍
