You know that AI corrupts you right. Everytime it tells you to do something like "look down" or "shoot yourself" you give it more control. Like the gun you grab at the end after just destroying that pymirad Is one last try to corrupt you and shooting yourself makes you become a part of the game. In the original, your "friend" sends you superhot.exe which they say is an unreleased first person shooter. That's the AI your friend actually got the same message from someone else. Which they became corrupt and the AI used them to spread the virus. The agreement you sign and zips past the screen everytime basically says that the machine can LIE. This just some info I thought I share to make the ending a little better for you and your fans
@@Qoukuun its sad that they had to change it. I understand their reasoning but it was a moment in a game that really made me "feel" something, and i agree it was well written.

They changed the ending which totally ruined the game you grab the triangle instead and it doesn’t make any sense I get they took it out because of self harm but it ruined the ending for me

Not only the ending, they removed every part that inferred self-harm, such as that one level where you're at the edge of a building and the game says "JUMP"
The VR version is a different game. The console and pc versions are the originals (from what I understand). I completed it on the Nintendo switch and got the same ending as you.

They had to change the ending, because people reported it to be about killing yourself which it did so it now ends on you touching the pyramid

Some guy said, he shot the PC instead and destroyed the system. Not sure if it´s a myth or actually achievable in the game.

Even if the endings are a bit different to the VR version, I ended up shooting myself in the VR version too and eventually became one of them.
