Watched a installation video at Kies and they said that the connection wire between the two lights isn't necessary on post-LCI, only pre-LCI. However that video was V1 style. Can you confirm this is the case? Many thanks!
Thank You! So the wheels I have are the OEM 437M wheels that come on the F8X M3/M4. The rim specs are: Front - 19x9 ET 29 with 255/35/19 Michelin Tires Rear - 19x10 ET 40 with 275/35/19 Michelin Tires
Hello. So I tried installing these in my 340i f30. Every time I get the inner tail light to sit flush i I will tighten the bolt and the light will pop out of place. The oem lights I have no problems putting them in and tightening the bolt never pop out of place. Any suggestions? I’ve been on this one dang inter tail light for a hour.
Not sure if you were able to figure it out but Yeah I think I was having a similar issue, I had hold the light flush and then hit it inward so the that the piece on the outer part of the trunk will slide in the grove that's on the taillight to prevent it from moving back out. Its kind of hard to explain. You can see me hit in place at 8:23
@@InlineSixAuto I gave up for the night will have to give that a try this weekend. It’s been very frustrating. Especially since the oem slips in so easily.
i buy 3 time that lights from amazon:D install and all times some shit that that quality is big fck first time one led brocken second left side lines not going strate same shit on last time just another side :D that fck quality
Sounds like theyre defective from factory. Where'd you buy them from? You should see if you can get replacement since most places have a warranty against manufacture defects
Hey buddy. I installed the VLAND taillights on my 435. I don't have DRL in the back when the selector is on AUTO. Didn't notice if the oem were also like that and they might only auto-switch on when the sensors pick up low lights. Is this normal? Everything else works fine. Such a great upgrade coming from pre-LCI!
Yes that is normal. Mine works the same way. I always manually switch them on and off. I move the selector to the hazard option whenever I want the tailights on.
I struggled a bit with inner piece too, I had to angle it a certain way for it to slide in the correct spot and then hit with some force for it to pop in place.
Amazing job..how was the fitment though? Was it 100% oem or lacking a bit..I noticed some little gaps on the trunk light (where you're hitting it) or perhaps on the other side?
The fitment was great overall no major issues at all with it. Wasn't perfect OEM, like you mentioned the part the goes on the trunk was a bit of struggle to get it seated securely but its not too bad.
What’s up man.. I just installed these on my ride. It’s a 2018 f30 340i. Alpine white. I think we have the same car lol. Anyway, I think I messed up. When i push the brake, only the outer part of the brake lights activate… the inside part ( trunk side) does not . Is there anything special/ tricky that’s needed to be done that I might’ve missed?
@@NicoEvaluates Hey man! I sure did figure it out. It’s a wiring issue. The directions that came with the box wasn’t very accurate at all. There’s one singular longish piece of wire that connects inner and outer light together so upon activation of brake, it looks beautiful. It’s because of this dude ( this page) I was able to figure it out. He has a DIY that shows you the wire that I’m referring to. Lmk if you have any questions.
i noticed one of my outer tail lights went out today - i was pulling it out to look and i noticed that the drip tray that covers the tail light bolts doesnt actually weather seal (at least on mine) so it looks like at least some water is running down into there from the trunk. is this ok? does it drain somewhere? im wondering if some water getting on the wiring plugs is what caused my issue, but looking at the existing design it doesnt seem like BMW was concerned about this?
@@InlineSixAuto GTS - put them in about 4 months ago so they've definitely been thru a lot of rainy weather. I pulled them off today to compare the working vs non working lights - definitely more dirt and a bit of water on the non working side behind the light, not the case on the working side. The connectors themselves seem okay, I cleaned off the contacts with alcohol and compressed air but still not working. But the original design doesn't rly seem all that water sealed to begin with so I'm not sure if the problem is actually caused by potential water getting in behind the light (it also doesn't look like the water actually touched any electrical contact points, just the housing and outer cabling)
@@arthatis you may have just gotten a bad set if it looks like there’s no water damage. Where did you get them from? The company may have a warranty on them for mechanical error so you can get a replacement set since it seems like it’s not anything you did to cause them to be damaged.
@@InlineSixAuto mashimarho. I can't totally rule out water damage tho, there was some water behind the light. Is that whole area supposed to be totally water sealed? Cause the drip tray covering the bolts isn't remotely water sealed
Hey I installed CST taillights on my bmw 328i xDrive and the turn signal works on the the outer part of the taillight but not on the inside do you have any idea of what could be the problem?
If everything is connected and not damaged, I'm thinking it was just defective from manufacturing. Did you buy them from me? or where did you get them from? I and most other companies have a warranty for manufacture defects so you should be able to get a replacement
I just installed this to my f30, it s really eye catching on the road. Modernized my car and look so cool. Really love it
Awesome stuff! I'm a complete novice at car stuff, but you have all the videos I need to try and do the work myself. Thanks for sharing
Very nice! It really gives the car a much more modern look.
Hello I have same lights but one issue. The turn signal on the trunk component on driver side doesn’t flash. Any idea what it could be.
Thanks
Just got mine today couldn’t be more proud
Awesome video dude! Once I get my f30 335i I'm going to put the same taillights. Keep up the good work man! Your f30 looking clean. OEM+ Love it!
Thanks!
Will they go on a 335d estate?

I had to do that on these also which are V2 and I have pre LCI.
I was gonna get the smoked tail lights but your video make me go for the red ones, looks awesome
Keep the content coming well done! What suspension are you running? Your stance is perfect
