10/12 deg is absolutely fine and good quality wheatgerm feed fish will love it,and 1kw cloverleaf are very efficient at that temp, kikusui is a yamtonishiki and gin matsuba is ki matsuba and chagoi definitely biggest in the pond end of summer!
Hi Rob…I’m currently feeding the Saki hikari multi season and they seem to love it! You did say it may be a yamatonishiki, is that what the black marks dictate? Ok so ki matsuba, good to know! It’s not an amazing fish but I think I’ll keep it 👌🏻. I’m sure the chag will outgrow them, you did say I get a refund if it don’t remember 😂
Savings to be made on food mate that you could put towards running the cloverleaf, colour may develop on the yamtonishiki and the ki matsuba has many good features but lacks the clean head that your kin matsuba has,and I still say that chagoi will be the biggest fish in the pond end of summer, lol
@@walkerkoi4886 yeah it is expensive but will see how the heater goes, if I have to compromise on food then maybe I will mate! I shall do a measure up next year same time and see where we at 🤞😂
You won't be compromising on the food mate, saki was released for high end show quality fish with goals and targets to achieve and sometimes on set time frames, if you're not targeting these results and goals with your koi you are probably wasting £
Great update Bezz next season I think you will see alot of changes in you Koi which I must say are looking fabulous but fingers crossed you can get some Saki Hikari fed heavy without any issues the quality will show its best potential my Koi love it and the transformation this season has been incredible there's a cost to any great products your doing everything wright stay with it Bezza looking forward to see the results mate have a great Christmas and New year 👍🙏 ps ponds looking fabulous 👌 good luck best regards Tony 🙏
Hi mate, thanks for watching! Yeah I think next year I’ll defo see some results, and hopefully new pond syndrome is a thing of the past although I’m not completely convinced just yet 😂 I’m hoping to keep it heated as much as i can to keep them filters alive but we shall see! Have a lovely Xmas mate 🙏🏻
Hi mate, I can’t tell you the relief I feel! If you can’t afford to run it, just plumb one in for emergencies, you never know if temps drop to minus again! Cheers for watching and merry Xmas 🙏🏻
Pond and Koi are looking great Bezza. Interested to hear about the Cloverleaf 1kw. I have a very small pond, well insulated and is also within a well large well insulated large shed. I always have 4mm polycarbonate sheeting as a cover on it, for condensation purposes within the shed (obviously come off when I’m in etc). So i was thinking this heater could hopefully enable me to keep the temp even a couple of deg.C above what it would naturally sit at, without it costing too much. 🤔 Altho, not sure that’s possible with anything these days…. 🔥 = 💷💷 Anyways, great update and hope you have a great Christmas and New Year period (when not at work). 🎄🎅🏼👍🏼
Hi mate, at the moment the pond is sat at 13 degrees! I’m sure the heater only kicked in a couple of times today! I’ll only really know when the outside temps drop again however I’d still install one, as a back up of nothing else, then you can just trial it! Insulation is the key, the less heat you lose the less this will come on! It does take a while to get up to temp compared to the 2kw but I’m sure it’s more energy efficient ! Have a good Xmas mate 🙏🏻
I absolutely love that Matsuba Bezza 👍

Some nice fish there bud. I'm toying with the idea of getting a heater as a bit of security in the cold weather! Happy Christmas 🎄 👍
