For this job I’d say ford for sure. The inside of the truck is hands down designed better than the Ram and the 10 speed transmission gained me roughly 1.5-2 mpg more in the Ford.
I've not heard of this recall.. I own a 2020 4500. Only open recall on mine is the cp4.. and they're not sending notifications on that till sometime in February.
Here we are a year later and there’s a new one (intake heater grid relay) that can cause a fire whether or not the truck is running. The fix? “None available at this time.”
Good evening bro . We spoke briefly the other day. I was put in a bad spot was getting hired onto an rv transport company and I had to get a bigger truck.so I found one and got a new truck. They lie and didn't start my paperwork.told me my take a 6 to 8 weeks.so my question to you is an trucks not making me money. Do you have any suggestions on a load board or something so my truck isn't sitting.and info would be appreciated.
Dang, that sucks! I’m really glad Enterprise came through for you. They aren’t the cheapest company to use but stuff like this is why I’ve always felt they were worth the extra cost.

Hey how you been. I haven't seen your videos lately because I been getting things together for this business. Im almost there. Got my truck and all my paperwork. My question to you is . Are cars still moving good on auto transport
@@americantrucknation4891 we got one out of West Virginia. I think The town was was called Beckley. There's a small airport there. Anyways you'll get an f-450 with a CM flatbed but it's only for when you're in a pinch. Think we ended up paying six to 7 grand for the month. But they do have a hot shot program with brand new trucks.
@@sxty8chrgr yeah, I called the Mishawaka IN location and they weren’t for the hotshot lease. Such a shame, I’ll call up the WV location and see what I can make happen. I could use an F450 every now and then even if not for hotshot
Yup I have that same recall. And each time I’m at the dealership there’s no fix yet. And mine is hotshot with covered 6 . But the deal ship said I could keep driving.
@@LoadMizer ahh I could see that. One of the companies I deal with at work just moved from the Chevy vans to all Ford vans because of bulk pricing. Thanks for the response!!
Right now the recall consists of the dealership placing an updated torque value/spec card in your glovebox after inspecting your current installed wheel studs. There was an aftermarket supply but that’s been pretty much depleted by now. Operating the equipment with an open recall after components have been inspected and verified to pass torque values is legally sound. My 2020 DRW has steel wheels with an updated torque spec of 175NM or 132FT/LBS. Call the dealer and give them your last 8 of the VIN and they should be able to provide the updated spec. My 2020 HS setup is for sale btw Load Mizer. Reach out to me if ya wanna get the details. HaulinCash knows me.
Good info and helpful for the guys that heed your advice NOT to sit on this recall and try to ride things out. Sounds like Enterprise will possibly not have the trucks to swap everyone out...so those that snooze will likely lose. Enjoy your week off! 😜 The weather in this part of Kentucky looks to be good this next week.
As far as I’ve seen it’s across the board, even though the recall itself claims it’s almost half a million trucks affected. Strange how they’d know that.
@@LoadMizer ok I had the CP4 issue happen to me in my other truck had to get a new truck but haven't received a email or anything that's why I was asking thanks for the information
Look man. I love your content. One of my favs. I personally wouldn't rent. No control over that truck whatsoever. If you owned that truck, you could go get studs online and move on!! I need auxillary tanks and air bags and turnover ball etc...I guess it depends on your credit. If you have bad or less than credit, by all means rent. I get new trucks for 2.5% so payments are as low as you can get. I'm not hating trust me. If it works for you then by all means do it. It wouldn't work for me.
I hear you man. It works for me for now so I’m good where it stands. If it starts not working I’ll make a change and carry on. If I owned it by all means I could change the studs or have them changed for me at a shop but until it’s cleared by the dealership then it’s still an open recall. With the severity level of this recall I just wouldn’t be able to risk the potential lawsuit I’d face if something were to happen. Of course you and I know the issue would be fixed, but lawyers know how to navigate those waters.
How long do the trucks you own last? 2 years? Is driving 3k miles a week too much to think I would average? Cause if these trucks are 80-100k and it's gone in 2 years.... Do you ever make that money back?
@@ggagoots I'm on year three now and it runs like the day I got it. I've replaced all wear items once. No motor or tranny issues. Mostly bearing related stuff. I will see an easy 500k before I have to worry. When things wear out, I replace with lifetime parts, all at the same place so warranty is on file, for everything. The best part of purchasing? You can customize that truck to your comfort. When you rent? As soon as you get comfortable, you have to rip everything out and start over, every 60k miles. Nah..
@@All-Miles-Matter Thank you man I appreciate the help. Last thing, you think 150k miles in a year is a good estimate to be prepared for? I know it truly all depends, but in your experience
The list is still there, it just got so long that they stopped adding to it. There’s just no way they can give anybody a time frame right now. It’s unrealistic until trucks start coming in. Then they get to play catch up with the trucks that are past due to be replaced, then they can start adding customers to the program again.
On the bright side you get to keep the Gray Dodge a month longer now before going back into a Ford, lucky you. 😂. Sounds like the dealers are not even checking for the stretched studs.
@@LoadMizer The open recall has to play a direct effect in an accident. If your studs are broke and a wheel falls off then yes you’re screwed. However with an inspection or part replacement that is null & void in an accident case. Even a freshman law student can tell you that. Speaking from experience being rear ended in my old Hotshot Tundra with a fuel pump recall. I replaced the tank for a bigger one & changed the components with receipt. Got thrown out & they paid my court costs & attorney fees. Moral of the story, the open recall had nothing to do with the accident involving my business
Not sure if dodge/ram is this way or not but, with Ford if you fix the problem and save your receipt, Ford will reimburse you and clear the recall off your VIN
I wonder how they know the studs have been overtorqued? I'm thinking destructive testing (not NDT) the only way, a bit like a medieval ducking stool where drowned women were deemed innocent of sorcery?
From everything I’ve gathered they’ve worked with Ram to get a few of the testing tools specifically for this recall that measures the each wheel stud’a length and thickness. That way they’re able to tell if the studs were ever over torqued either from the factory or at any point during service.
Good luck hunting.
Sooo lucky to live in a state where it takes a week to get apportion plates….Nevada takes months
Also last time RAM had the high pressure fuel pump problems…
I believe Ram was the only manufacturer to switch back to the CP3 pumps for 2021

As far as rentals, the great thing about is that you are constantly running. Enterprise will keep you in a truck
If they have any, yes they will. They may start having to drop the problem children soon though.

Great video as always. Straight shooter 💨
I'm still on the waiting list and I've been on it since spring 2020
That’s crazy because about a month and a half my studs broke when I was on open highway running 65-70 mph
Seems to be a common theme with Ram. 2018 the steering rod nuts were banking off. No fix. They welded the nuts and never replaced after 3 years
🤦♂️

It’s actually increased now that dealerships are struggling to get new inventory. Basically every major dealership is a used car lot now.
Ok. Did you mean to say decrease because dealership can't get inventory
Had an F450 from Enterprise earlier this year had the reverse problem. Under torqued hub extensions. Luckily it was an easy fix.
