Oh hey, it's some P5T material! I want to do a lot more stuff from this OST.
Not gonna lie, I have mixed feelings about the P5T soundtrack. On one hand, the ideas and themes were great. On the other hand, the production felt weirdly sparse, almost like Konishi and the Atlus team recorded 6 hours of demos and said " aight, should be good." Definitely a choice just to go with just a single guitar for rhythm. Nevertheless, some ear worm bangers on here with this being one of them.
I pretty much went very simple for this one, trying to show (in my general style), what a fully fleshed out arrangement and production might have sounded like (minus the metal sections and such). You may have noticed/heard it in my last cover before this one, but I started using a virtual bass guitar for bass guitar tracks. Reason? I wanted the sound of a Spector Euro 5 LX, but could not afford an actual Spector Euro 5 LX (that thing is, at best, $3k), and my poor Ibanez basses weren't up to the task. One day, I'll be able to afford a fleet of Spector basses 🙏🙏😭. Another change is that I started to tempo map the entire arrangement to the rhythm guitars. This makes it so even though the tempo isn't as steady, everything is in lock-sync with the rhythm guitars making for an ultra-tight, but not robotic, arrangement. Vocals were fun to perform on this one, and performing the guitar solo reminded me that even after 17 years of playing guitar, I still suck.
