For all that’s good in this world….make the goalies smarter. Seeing them get burned by the same move over and over (in the same game) kills the immersion.
I wish they would do more with audio and crowd settings. I want the sound effects of the crowd to be more realistic during high pressure games. Or game-winning goals. Also I think it'd be cool. Depending on a win or lose streak, it would affect the attendance of your crowd
Some good looking changes, in chel one timers do go in quite often, even without one tee. My biggest problem is defense has taken a huge hit over the last couple of years to the point where the best defense is standing around while everyone else dances until the eventual cross crease, exploited short side shot or big tipper point shot. Please allow the defense to actually put pressure with poke checking and body position to keep up with the dancers.
Agreed I play LW in a div 1 club and the d men are the backbone of the team and not enough love shown to them as in creativity but this looks like a nice addition if you can use it without getting poked 99% of the time.
I really hope players are not constantly running into their own teammates during the new game. I also hope players do not randomly have a seizure on the ice during the middle of a play.
I like what you said at the end of the video being able to turn things off making it feel like tv! We need full presentation back to really increase that as well! This game being next gen only is now a perfect time to have it back with the option to have it on or off

Another worry about the « skill one timer » is the latency issues when playing NHL. You’re at a huge disadvantage already with faceoff timing, now one timers too… Holding up during a pass was the saving grace when stuck in a bad connection game. But that’s always going to be an issue with server based matchmaking.
I’m all for skill-gap, but unfortunately there’s a «ping-gap » that is more impactful than the skill gap in many cases. Peer to peer enables true skill-gap since you’re at a leveled playing field.

I always approached tactics like a rock paper scissors system, except with 5 philosophical differences instead of 3: Run and Gun Passing Plays Dump and Chase Crash and Grind and Defensive/Trapping. All tactics can fall under one of these philosophies. And each one has a direct counter, two relative skill-dependable counters, and a neutral matchup. You see it every day in the NHL, but every year the philosophies evolve to have an edge in subsequent eras.
Yes there should be an option to turn off all the extra flashy stuff to make it look more authentic. But im sure ea will just replace the pressure meter with some obnoxious advertisement
Not a fan of the gray circle however i remove factor and circle beneath player skates hope we can remove grey circle also and eventually the meter or make it smaller i don't know
I think it will look EXACTLY the same that is has looked for the last 20 years. Zereo uprgades to the look of the game. I also hop they went back to the 2014 drop in online system. game has dropped like a rock since then.
I agreed with the skill based 1 timers. Get rid of all indications and just have it running in the background we need it more skill based than it is. Make it difficult, We need a big learning curve overhaul! But i do believe the new movement will change the game in a good way.
I do think the reactive movements (or at least i hope) will have a pretty big impact on gameplay. If players arent going to be running into each other all the time, it drastically improves the flow of the game, therefore resulting in a better overall gameplay experience.
Biggest thing I would love to see in 1v1 is to get rid of the shootout. Nothing's worse than playing a great game and then having to stop and do a shootout. Just let the three on three go on someone's going to score and I think it feels way better to win an OT than a shootout
Not gonna lie, this was impressive. Call me interested, cause this trailer actually featured something noteworthy. If they can consistently make gameplay innovations every year, I will keep playing every year. I'm waiting for the beta to purchase, and I hope this isn't the only trailer we get.
The two things i'll be watching for is goalies adjusting to skating/1Ts and penalties. Not a lot of talk about how refs will adjust to IQ sk8 mechanics so it doesnt turn into penalty fest.
The additions look good. Like you said we won’t really know until we have played the game. I like the skating iq and the fact that one timers will have more of an effect. For me taking a one timer the last two games has been almost a waste. Even the perfectly timed, wide open ones were getting stopped or missing the net. What I really want is manual only line changes in HUT. I’m getting tired of the AI deciding to make line changes when my opponent is breaking out of their zone and all of a sudden they have a 2-0 coming into my zone and if they could take away ice tilt that would be great. I’m tired of every goalie I use in HuT having a save percentage of 50% in rivals. Based off this the game does look better. My biggest issue has been players getting stuck on each other, my own guys picking me and getting into my skating lanes for no reason whatsoever. Thank you for this video.
I feel they should do something similar to EAFC, all the arcade features are turned off during champs. In fifa you have to green your shots with no meter. You should have to something similar in chel. I also assume they have full control over the “window” for the one timers, they can tighten the timing window for less greens if it becomes a problem. Very similar to the NBA 2K green window system. Some good looking features and well described by cam, it should clean the game up a bit. And a step in.. hopefully a good direction!

ive finally wised up after decades of buying this game and passed on it last year. they have just given up over that last 10 years at least. up until nhl 09 there was always significant changes and actually felt like a new game every year. since then, i think the graphics are like slightly better than 09 and thats probably more to do with the more powerful machines playing them. this game is the laziest piece of crap in the entire gaming world and its sad because i love hockey and have always loved these games.
Why are all the AI on defense in terrible defensive positions. None of them have there stick in a passing lane. None of them attempt ro break up a pass.... This looks terrible.

I hope they nerfed checking power in World of Chel. They also need to reduce poke check power. A one handed poke check that hits a players legs should not be a trip every time. The stick should bounce off the puck carrier's legs. They also really need to add something to allow you to counter check or brace for a check after making a pass. You shouldn't be getting destroyed every time you make a pass.
As for the look and feel of the one-tee indicators and the arcadey look, they need to add the option like in years prior for offline modes (NHL 14 is the last I can remember this being prevalent) to change the game style between Arcade and Simulation. As for online modes, the titles of Hut Wildcard and Hut Competitive Season/ Hut Champs are indicators to the style of game you will be playing. IE; No One-tee indicators or any kind of handicaps in competitive modes whereas Hut Wildcard should feature all the handicaps and should feel absolutely bananas. I like the idea of skill-based one timers, they should absolutely be skill based. I think Wildcard should almost be where people learn to play the game and have the most fun where Champs/ Seasons should be much more challenging in nailing the timings of pokes, hits, passes, one-tees and more. I need to play the beta ASAP. I really wanna help make this chel the best it's ever been, I'm dying for a good chel.

skating portion is promising. Could equate to adding back LT with more realistic animations, so lets hope its more than that. the AI part leaves me highly skeptical. that is the kind of thing they can nerf at the drop of a hat. First few weeks of either 22 players would try to find open ice and shooting angles in settled play, then it disappeared. Occasionally you could mess with your lineup settings and get players to behave that way to a varying extent depending on a number of factors like how they compared to your opponents Strats.
One of the things that pissed me off the most in BE A PRO was trying to fight through my own men on the back check. I actually thought they were there on purpose to set a pick, based on the difficulty level. Another one was Own Goals. Hopefully the AI reworking will address those issues. The other thing I hated was breaking the glass at least three times per week. Really? Can we shut that feature off please?
They should add a button for defense where you focus on intercepting the puck but can't do much else. I hate when I'm playing 6s or 3s and I play a pass very well but the puck just goes right by my skates or stick.

Also how a 5'6 150lb player can hip check anyone and if you miss don't worry as long as you slightly graze them they will lose the puck and fall over. Also don't forget how you can do the same breakaway move 5 times in a row and score every time. Ya, this game is the peak real life experience. Sorry that my 90 defensive awareness guy with gold quick pick can't intercept a pass from a guy that's 20 feet away. Adding a button to focus on Interceptions isn't gonna break the game especially if you make it where you can't sprint and hold it. When I can read the pass coming before they enter my zone I shouldn't have to rely on the game intercepting the puck for me when I'm in the perfect position. I should be able to hold one button and have a higher chance of Interceptions or deflections.

I like how the ai is finally trailing / trying to get open. Hopefully this is consistent in 25 because it's been a problem for years. I wish they addressed how the ai does a stupid f*cking deke every time they enter the offensive zone, resulting in an easy turnover. BAP and WOC players know just how frustrating it is to send a nice pass over to the ai, and the ai does a windmill deke right into the defenseman
I agree with your arguments that the game adding visual stuff that are arcade like but in no way is the game going towards arcade its actively going away from arcade and towards simulation, the full pressure meter and that new 1T visual cue are part of that too. People dont get it and complain that their old ways are not working...AKA north south run and gun with braindead agression and dont get that the devs are going more towards east west hockey, removed cross crease forcing and pass forcing in general, now you actually have to make reads and use the right joystick to pass, (if you dont use the right joystick to pass its as if your player got wooden arms, much harder to pass.) Devs also removed most glitch shots and less cheese plays unless you play 3s. Almost every goal scored is hockey authentic and could happen in a real game, the puck actually goes loose and not to somebodys stick everytime, rebound shots are rewarded as pass of the pads finally, etc. Like any other sports game theyre just copying 2K NBA who is going full simulation and EA devs are trying to copy. Good I say, just sucks that nobody is realizing it yet so NHL cant grow and gets shit on by the casual players not understanding the changes.Sport games are filled with casual players
That one timer indicator will be gone after day one. One timers should be skilled based. People who don't play hockey don't know how hard this is in real life. Should be like video game golf. Need to time the back swing and follow thru

Everything at the end you said 100% - i just find after being under preasure - usually u see the other team come down and snipe one. With this arcade preasure system, u literally need to line change cause ur stam is 0 lol.. I am not asking/expecting for a lot, just let me turn it off.. we can customize lots of things why not let us take it off for offline modes I kinda laugh when they said "AI wont just crash the next, then the example is jets blocking a goal from just crashing into the net lol"
Thanks for bringing up the visual clutter, Sleeves! I sort of give a pass to the full pressure meter since you do see ads superimposed onto the ice on broadcasts, but those one-timer targets are brutal! Hopefully EA takes note and puts an option in to hide them.

Ping is the #1 problem in HUT in my opinion but they can’t go peer to peer because losers are able to boot people. They need to find a way somehow

My only issue i had with their Deep Dive is Leon Draisaitl wasn't low enough to the goal line on their empowered AI one timer clips 😂

There shouldn't be a need for the meter for full pressure on the ice. The boards turn red when activated. That should be enough.
skating portion is promising. Could equate to adding back LT with more realistic animations, so lets hope its more than that. the AI part leaves me highly skeptical. that is the kind of thing they can nerf at the drop of a hat. First few weeks of either 22 players would try to find open ice and shooting angles in settled play, then it disappeared. Occasionally you could mess with your lineup settings and get players to behave that way to a varying extent depending on a number of factors like how they compared to your opponents Strats.
Does it have option for full presentation?? You gotta have goalie introductions like before
One of the things that pissed me off the most in BE A PRO was trying to fight through my own men on the back check. I actually thought they were there on purpose to set a pick, based on the difficulty level. Another one was Own Goals. Hopefully the AI reworking will address those issues. The other thing I hated was breaking the glass at least three times per week. Really? Can we shut that feature off please?
In the previous trailer he showed that when you move around now the cpu players will relocate based off your movement. Hope this helped.

They should add a button for defense where you focus on intercepting the puck but can't do much else. I hate when I'm playing 6s or 3s and I play a pass very well but the puck just goes right by my skates or stick.
Dang, who knew… it’s almost like real life where you block some and miss some lol you’re never gonna intercept every pass, in fact in real hockey you won’t be able to intercept most passes lol
@@Lungz1344 you wanna talk about real life when all it takes to do the Michigan is pressing one button. Also how a 5'6 150lb player can hip check anyone and if you miss don't worry as long as you slightly graze them they will lose the puck and fall over. Also don't forget how you can do the same breakaway move 5 times in a row and score every time. Ya, this game is the peak real life experience. Sorry that my 90 defensive awareness guy with gold quick pick can't intercept a pass from a guy that's 20 feet away. Adding a button to focus on Interceptions isn't gonna break the game especially if you make it where you can't sprint and hold it. When I can read the pass coming before they enter my zone I shouldn't have to rely on the game intercepting the puck for me when I'm in the perfect position. I should be able to hold one button and have a higher chance of Interceptions or deflections.

I feel like everything they showed with the skating and explosiveness is going to be good for only the elite players and feel like you're skating in quicksand with any other player.

I like how the ai is finally trailing / trying to get open. Hopefully this is consistent in 25 because it's been a problem for years. I wish they addressed how the ai does a stupid f*cking deke every time they enter the offensive zone, resulting in an easy turnover. BAP and WOC players know just how frustrating it is to send a nice pass over to the ai, and the ai does a windmill deke right into the defenseman

I agree with your arguments that the game adding visual stuff that are arcade like but in no way is the game going towards arcade its actively going away from arcade and towards simulation, the full pressure meter and that new 1T visual cue are part of that too. People dont get it and complain that their old ways are not working...AKA north south run and gun with braindead agression and dont get that the devs are going more towards east west hockey, removed cross crease forcing and pass forcing in general, now you actually have to make reads and use the right joystick to pass, (if you dont use the right joystick to pass its as if your player got wooden arms, much harder to pass.) Devs also removed most glitch shots and less cheese plays unless you play 3s. Almost every goal scored is hockey authentic and could happen in a real game, the puck actually goes loose and not to somebodys stick everytime, rebound shots are rewarded as pass of the pads finally, etc. Like any other sports game theyre just copying 2K NBA who is going full simulation and EA devs are trying to copy. Good I say, just sucks that nobody is realizing it yet so NHL cant grow and gets shit on by the casual players not understanding the changes.Sport games are filled with casual players
Surely with the skills based one-timers, the skill would be knocking when to release the shot. The flashing circles shouldn't be there.

That one timer indicator will be gone after day one. One timers should be skilled based. People who don't play hockey don't know how hard this is in real life. Should be like video game golf. Need to time the back swing and follow thru

one timers need to be replicate it like Ovi in his spot, most likely goes in, but like a defensive D ripping a one timer from the point or a guy like Tarasenko (padre said hes bad at one timers) shouldnt go in as much as Sleeves fear they will. Basically offensive guys known for good one timers should have a higher chance to score than your guys who rarely take one timers or suck at them

Everything at the end you said 100% - i just find after being under preasure - usually u see the other team come down and snipe one. With this arcade preasure system, u literally need to line change cause ur stam is 0 lol.. I am not asking/expecting for a lot, just let me turn it off.. we can customize lots of things why not let us take it off for offline modes

Thanks for bringing up the visual clutter, Sleeves! I sort of give a pass to the full pressure meter since you do see ads superimposed onto the ice on broadcasts, but those one-timer targets are brutal! Hopefully EA takes note and puts an option in to hide them.
